EcoVision EZ Door Upgrade
SHIPPING DAMAGE
All equipment should be thoroughly examined
for shipping damage before and during unloading.
This equipment has been carefully inspected at
our factory. Any claim for loss or damage must
be made to the carrier. The carrier will provide
any necessary inspection reports and/or claim
forms.
GENERAL
Verify the merchandiser model(s) to be outfitted
with the EcoVision EZ door kit(s) by locating
the merchandiser’s serial plate. The serial plate
is located on the inside of the foam bottom at
the left side of the merchandiser.
EcoVision EZ doors may be installed without
the need to remove product from the merchan-
disers. Check with the store manager, and let
them know how long a door lineup will take to
complete. The average time to install each door
is about 10 minutes.
Note
Narrow Impact cases require additional brackets when
outfitting with doors. See Page 9 for bracket installation
details.
Water Misters and Light raiLs may not be used with
glass doors. Remove any mist equipment from case
before installing doors.
Do NOT lean glass doors against the
merchandiser lineup. Leave them packed in
their protective packaging until they are
ready to be directly installed in the lineup.
Accidental glass breakage can be dangerous.
Always wear protective safety glasses and
gloves when handling glass.
Do NOT stand or walk on top of
merchandiser. Do not store items or
ammable materials atop the unit.

LOCATION
EcoVision EZ doors are designed for merchandis-
ers that display products in air conditioned stores
where temperature is maintained at or below
75°F (24°C) and relative humidity is maintained
below 55%. Fogging, moisture and corrosion may
occur on the doors if merchandisers are operat-
ed outside these conditions.
Placing refrigerated merchandisers in direct
sunlight, near hot tables or near other heat
sources could impair their efficiency, which may
cause the doors to fog. Refrigerated cases are
sensitive to air disturbances. Air currents passing
around merchandisers will seriously impair
their operation. Do NOT allow air conditioning,
electric fans, open doors or windows, etc. to
create air currents around the merchandisers.
Product should always be maintained at proper
temperature. This means that from the time the
product is received, through storage, preparation
and display, the temperature of the product must
be controlled to maximize product life.
CASE LEVELING
Merchandisers must be installed level to ensure
proper operation of the refrigeration system
and to ensure proper drainage of defrost water.
In order for the gravity hinge self-closing doors
to close properly, the merchandisers must be
leveled correctly. Do not attempt to install
the doors or make glass adjustments prior to
ensuring the cases are level.
Shims are provided with each door kit. Use
provided metal shims.
Prepare Merchandiser(s) for Doors:

Carefully unpack EcoVision EZ Door
upgrade kit(s), and examine parts. Do
not carry doors by the handle.
2Carefully remove canopy fascia(s)
from the merchandiser(s).
A. Remove screws from fascia. Unhook the
canopy fascia panel by lifting out from
the center at the bottom as shown in
Figure 2-1.
B. Remove canopy fascia. Canopy fascia
will be reinstalled later
C. Loosen rods in canopy between the
joined cases as shown in Figure 2-2.

or unattended until all parts are
properly secured.

A. Set bumper aside. Bumper will be rein-
stalled after doors are installed.

A. Remove rail extrusion and discard. New
rail extrusion will be installed later.

5Install insulation and inner bottom rail
supports.
A. Clean sealers and (or) Perma-gum off
front supports before attaching insulation
or bottom rail support
B. Insert insulation with notched side toward
the outside of the case (3) per 12 ft case,
(2) per 8 ft case as shown in Figure 5-1
and 5-2.
C. Install inner bottom rail support and
attach it to the front supports using #8 x
3/8in. screws.
6Attach the outer bottom rail support
to the front of the case with #8-18 x
1/2in. screws.

6a Attach door bottom rail extrusion
A. Place bottom rail extrusion onto the front of the case as shown in Fig 6-1a
& 6-2a
B. Make sure the rail is properly seated and
there are no gaps between the extrusion
and the inner bottom rail support. (Fig
6-2a)
C. Make sure extrusion is level.
D. Fasten #8 screws as shown in Fig 6-2a .
Space approximately every 12 inches.

14 Attach end and center mullions onto the rail extrusion as shown in
Fig. 14-1.
A. Angle the top of the mullion toward the
inside of the case, and engage the lower
flange into bottom extrusion. Straighten
mullion, and engage top into canopy sup-
port as shown in Fig. 14-1
15 Angle the door retainer into the front side (outside the case) of bottom rail
extrusion. Squeeze retainer until it snaps
into bottom extrusion as shown in Fig.
15-1 and 15-2.

End Mullions must be joined together
at joints between cases, and are only
required at case joint, not required at
partition or end.
Bolts, Washers and Nuts for the end mullions are
pre-installed from the factory.
A. Remove the nut and washer from the end
mullion and insert bolt through end mullion
and end mullion of a joining case and insert
between mullions as shown in Fig. 14-1.

17 Fasten left and right end mullions using #8 and #10 -16 x 1 in. hex head screws.
18 Install bottom hinge plate assembly into the bottom rail extrusion about a 1/4in.
from end of extrusion. (3) plates for
12-ft case, (2) plates for 8 ft. case. There
is a an “L” stamped on the left side and
an “R” on the right side.
A. Insert one screw into the center hole and
only the center hole. Do not tighten com-
pletely. This will allow for leveling of the
doors later.

Install EcoVision EZ Door(s) and top
bushings.
A. Insert top of door into bushing hole of door
as shown in Fig. 19-1.
B. Raise door up and position gravity hinge at
the bottom of the door into bottom hinge plate
cross hole as shown in Fig. 19-2.
C. Install remaining doors.
IMPORTANT - AFTER DOORS ARE INSTALLED!
Remove the tag from the door, pulling the C-Clip
from the gravity hinge.

Remove the clip by pulling the tag, and
the door will close.

closed slightly to align the

The cross will align when the
door is opened slightly. The
door will not seat if not
aligned properly. Do not
leave the door unseated.

20Adjusting Doors.
A. Leveling — Merchandisers must be installed
level to ensure proper operation of the refrig-
eration system to ensure proper drainage of
defrost water, and to ensure the gravity hinge
self-closing feature operates properly.
Glass alignment is also affected with improp-
er leveling of the merchandisers. All steps of
settting, joining and case leveling attention to
the glass position is critical. Do not attempt to
make glass adjustments prior to case leveling.
Check that door can hold open to 90°.
B. Door Adjustment — Loosen screws in the
screw hole locations as shown on the hinge
plate below. (Do not remove the screws com-
pletely).
Slide the bottom plate left and right until proper
alignment is achieved. Re-tighten screws. Install
fasteners in locations 1 and 2 as shown below.
