General power tool safety warnings
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all
instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING! Read all safety warnings designated
by the symbol and all instructions. Save all
warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your
mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-
operated (cordless) power tool.
WARNING! Depending on the actual use of the
product the vibration values can differ from the
declared total! Adopt proper measures to protect
yourself against vibration exposures. Take the
whole work process including times the product
is running under no load or switched off into
consideration.
Proper measures include, among others, regular
maintenance and care of the product and application
tools, keeping hands warm, periodical breaks and
proper planning of work processes.
Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark
areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a
power tool. Distractions can cause you to losecontrol.
Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugsand

matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces,
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged
or entangled cords increase the risk of electricshock.
5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric
shock.
6. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common
sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a
power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
2. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.
3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in
the off-position before connecting to a power source
and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or
energizing power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.
4. Remove any adjusting key or spanner before turning

the power tool on. A spanner or a key left attached to
a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal
injury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool
in unexpected situations.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
7. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of dust collection
can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power
tool for your application. The correct power tool will
do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was
designed.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn
it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the
battery pack from the power tool before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power
tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce therisk
of starting the power tool accidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or
these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrainedusers.
5. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are

less likely to bind and are easier to control.
7. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into account
the working conditions and the work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations different from
those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Battery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of
battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with
another battery pack.
2. Use power tools only with specifically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may
create a risk of injury and fire.
3. When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other small metal objects,that can make a
connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the
battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
urgently seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
Service
1. Have your power tools serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Special safety instructions for the cordless chainsaw

must be followed. For your own safety and that of
bystanders, please read these instructions before
operating the product. Please keep the instructions
safe for later use.

Chainsaw safety warnings
1. Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain
when the chainsaw is operating. Before you start the
chainsaw, make sure the saw chain is not contacting
anything. A moment of inattention while operating
chainsaws may cause entanglement of your clothing
or body with the saw chain.
2. Always hold the chainsaw with your right hand on
the rear handle and your left hand on the front
handle. Holding the chainsaw with a reversed hand
configuration increases the risk of personal injury and
should never be done.
3. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces
only, because the saw chain may contact hidden
wiring or its own cord. Saw chains contacting a "live"
wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool
"live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
4. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further
protective equipment for head, hands, legs and feet
is recommended. Adequate protective clothing will
reduce personal injury by flying debris or accidental
contact with the saw chain.
5. Do not operate a chainsaw in a tree. Operation of a
chainsaw while up in a tree may result in personal
injury.
6. Always keep proper footing and operate the chainsaw
only when standing on a fixed, secure and level
surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders
may cause a loss of balance or control of
the chainsaw.
7. When cutting a branch that is under tension be alert
for spring back. When the tension in the wood fibres
is released the spring loaded limb may strike the
operator and/or throw the chainsaw out of control.
8. Use extreme caution when cutting bush and saplings.
The slender material may catch the saw chain and be
whipped toward you or pull you off balance.
9. Carry the chainsaw by the front handle with the
chainsaw switched off and away from your body.

When transporting or storing the chainsaw always fit
the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the chainsaw
will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the
moving saw chain.
10. Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning
and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or
lubricated chain may either break or increase the
chance for kick-back.
11. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
Greasy, oily handles are slippery causing loss of
control.
12. Cut wood only. Do not use chainsaw for purposes not
intended. For example: do not use chainsaw forcutting
plastic, masonry or non-wood building materials. Use
of the chainsaw for operations different than intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
Causes and operator prevention of kick-back
Kick-back may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar
touches an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches
the saw chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a sudden reverse
reaction, kicking the guide bar up and back towards the
operator.
Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may
push the guide bar rapidly back towards the operator.
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of
the saw which could result in serious personal injury. Do
not rely exclusively upon the safety devices built into your
saw. As a chainsaw user, you should take several steps to
keep your cutting jobs free from accident or injury.
Kick-back is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect
operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by
taking proper precautions as given below:
1. Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers encircling
the chainsaw handles with both hands on the saw and
position your body and arm to allow you to resist kick-
back forces. Kick-back forces can be controlled by the
operator, if proper precautions are taken. Do not let go
of the chainsaw.

2. Do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder
height. This helps prevent unintended tip contact and
enables better control of the chainsaw in unexpected
situations.
3. Only use replacement bars and chains specified bythe
manufacturer. Incorrect replacement bars and chains
may cause chain breakage and/or kick-back.
4. Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and
maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to
increased kick-back.
Additional safety warnings
1. It is recommended that first-time users should, as a
minimum practice, cut logs on a saw-horse or cradle.
Clothing and protective equipment
1. Do secure long hair so that it is above shoulder level.
2. Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewellery as this
could be drawn into the motor, catch the chain or
undergrowth.
3. Use the following safety clothing and protective
equipment when operating the product:
- Helmet with visor and neck guard (compliant to EN
397)
- Hearing protectors
- Breathing mask
- Gloves with approved saw protection (compliant to EN
381-4, EN 381-7, EN 420:1, EN 388 Class 3)
- Protective leggings with approved saw protection
(compliant to EN 381-5, EN 340 Class 1)
- Steel toe cap boots with approved saw protection
(compliant to EN ISO 20345 Class 2)
- First aid kit in case of injury.
Charger safety warnings
1. This charger is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision

or instruction concerning use of the product by a
person responsible for their safety.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the charger.
3. Before using the charger, read all the instructions and
cautionary markings on the charger and batterypack.
4. Do not attempt to charge battery packs other than
those supplied. The charger and battery pack supplied
with it are specifically designed to work together.
5. Charge the battery pack indoors only, as the charger
is designed for indoor use only.
6. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
7. Protect the charger against moisture and wet
conditions. There is a danger of electric shock.
8. Ensure proper ventilation when charging.
9. Do not place any object on top of the charger as it
could cause overheating. Do not place the charger
near any heat source.
10. Do not use an extension cord unless it is absolutely
necessary. The use of an improper extension
cord could cause the risk of fire, electric shock or
electrocution.
11. Do not use the charger if it has been subjected to a
heavy knock, dropped or otherwise damaged in any
way. Have the charger checked and repaired by an
authorised service centre.
12. Do not disassemble the charger. Incorrect
re-assembly may result in the risk of fire, electric shock
or electrocution.
13. Disconnect the charger from the power supply before
attempting to clean it, to reduce the risk of an electric
shock. Removing the battery pack alone does not
reduce the risk.
Battery pack safety warnings
1. Do not attempt to charge the battery pack with any
other charger than the one supplied. The charger and
battery pack supplied with it are specifically designed
to work together.
2. Charge and store the battery pack in an ambient

temperature of 18 - 24°C (65 - 75°F) to ensure the
longest battery life and best performance. Do not
charge or store the battery pack in temperatures below
0°C (32 °F) and above 45°C (113°F).
3. Small leakage of liquid from the battery pack may
occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions.
However, if the outer seal is broken and this leakage
comes into contact with your skin, wash the affected
area quickly with water. If the leakage gets in your
eyes, flush your eyes with clean water for a minimum
of 10 minutes and seek immediate medicalattention.
4. Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason.
If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks open
or cracks, immediately discontinue its use and do not
recharge it.
5. Do not store or carry a spare battery pack in a pocket
or toolbox, or any other place where it may come into
contact with metal objects. The battery pack may be
short-circuited causing damage to the battery pack,
burns or a fire.
6. Do not pierce the battery with nails, strike the battery
with a hammer, step on the battery or otherwise
subject it to strong impacts or shocks.
7. Protect the battery pack against heat. Do notplace the
battery in direct sunlight or use or store the battery
inside cars in hot weather. Doing so may cause the
battery to generate heat, explode or ignite.
8. Never try to charge a battery pack that is cracked
or damaged in any other way. There is a danger of
electric shock or electrocution.
9. Only charge the battery pack with the charger
supplied.
Vibration and noise reduction
To reduce the impact of noise and vibration emissions,
limit the time of operation, use low-vibration and low-noise
operating modes, as well as wear personal protective
equipment.
Take the following points into account to minimise the
vibration and noise exposure risks:

1. Only use the product as intended by its design and
these instructions.
2. Ensure that the product is in good condition and well
maintained.
3. Use correct attachments for the product and ensure
they are in good condition.
4. Keep a tight grip on the handles/gripping surface.
5. Maintain this product in accordance with these
instructions and keep it well lubricated (where
appropriate).
6. Plan your work schedule to spread any high vibration
tool use across a longer period of time.
7. Prolonged use of the product exposes the userto
vibrations that can cause a range of conditions
collectively known as hand-arm vibration syndrome
(HAVS) e. g. fingers going white; as well as specific
afflictions such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
- To reduce this risk when using the product, always
wear protective gloves and keep your handswarm.
- The symptoms of HAVS include any combination of
the following: Tingling and numbness in the fingers;
Not being able to feel things properly; loss of strength
in the hands; fingers going white (blanching) and
becoming red and painful on recovery (particularly in
the cold and wet, and probably only in the tips at first).
Seek medical advice immediately if such symptoms
are experienced.
Emergency
Familiarise yourself with the use of this product by means
of this instruction manual. Memorise the safety directions
and follow them to the letter. This will help to prevent risks
and hazards.
1. Always be alert when using this product, so that you
can recognise and handle risks early. Fast intervention
can prevent serious injury and damage to property.
2. Switch off and disconnect from the power supply if
there is any malfunctions. Have the product checked
by a qualified specialist and repaired, if necessary,
before you put it into operation again.

Residual risks
Even if you are operating this product in accordance
with all the safety requirements, potential risks of injury
and damage remain. The following dangers can arise in
connection with the structure and design of this product:
1. Health defects resulting from vibration emission if the
product is being used over long periods of time or not
adequately managed and properly maintained.
2. Injuries and damage to property due to broken
attachments or the sudden impact of hidden objects
during use.
3. Danger of injury and property damage caused byflying
objects.
4. Injuries and damage to property due to thrown and
fallen objects.
5. Prolonged use of this product exposes the operator
to vibrations and may produce “white-finger” disease.
In order to reduce the risk, please wear gloves and
keep your hands warm. If any of the “White-finger”
symptoms appear, seek medical advice immediately.
“White-finger” symptoms include: numbness, loss
of feeling, tingling, pricking, pain, loss of strength,
changes in skin colour or condition. These symptoms
normally appear in the fingers, hands or wrists. The
risk increases at low temperatures.
WARNING! This product produces an electromagnetic
field during operation! This field may, under some
circumstances, interfere with active or passive medical
implants! To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury,
we recommend persons with medical implants
to consult their doctor and the medical implant
manufacturer before operating this product!

Intended use
This cordless chainsaw is designated with rated voltage of 58V. It is designed only
to be used with the battery pack YT8033-02.
YT8033-02 designates the respective charger with a charging voltage of 58V.
The product is intended for cutting logs with a thickness of max. 22.5-23cm.
It must not be used for cutting other materials, such as plastic, stone, metal, wood
that contains foreign objects, or materials that are harmful to health. This product
should not be used outside of domestic premises e.g. for cutting firewood in forested
areas.
The product may only be used with the guide bar/saw chain combination stated
within these instructions. The use of other types or sizes is not allowed.
With this product, vertical and horizontal cuts can be performed. Longitudinal
sections may only be cut by professionals.
For safety reasons, it is essential to read the entire instruction manual before first
operation and to observe all the instructions therein.
This product is intended for private domestic use only, not for any commercial trade
use. It must not be used for any purposes other than those described.

Assembly
WARNING! Before using the product, familiarise yourself with the
operating features read the entire instruction manual paying particular
attention to the safety rules and operating procedures.
WARNING! The product must be fully assembled before operation! Do not
use a product that is only partly assembled or assembled with damaged
parts!
Follow the assembly instructions step-by-step and use the pictures
provided as a visual guide to easily assemble the product!
Do not connect the battery pack to the product before it is completely
assembled!
Note: Take care of small parts that are removed during assembly or when
making adjustments. Keep them secure to avoid loss.
Assembly instructions
Follow the operating instructions step-by-step and use the illustrations
provided as a visual guide to easily assemble the machine.
Unpacking
1. Unpack all parts and lay them on a flat, stable surface.
2. Remove all packing materials and shipping devices if applicable.
3. Make sure the delivery contents are complete and free of any damage. If you find
that parts are missing or show damage, do not use the product but contact your
local store instead. Using an incomplete or damaged product represents a hazard
to people and property.
4. Ensure that you have all the accessories and tools needed for assembly and
operation. This also includes suitable personal protectiveequipment.
Assemble the guide bar and the saw chain
1. Place the saw body on a firm and level surface.
2. Rotate the bar guide bar lock (the part with remark-1) counter-clockwise to
remove the cover from the saw’s body.
3. With the help of protective gloves, wrap the saw chain around the guide bar,
making sure that the teeth are aimed in the direction of rotation. The chain should
be properly set in the slot running along the entire outside edge of the guide bar.

4. Place the saw chain around the sprocket (the part with remark-1) while lining up
the slot in the guide bar with the internal bolt (the part with remark-2) at the base
of the saw and the chain tensioning pin (the part with remark-3) in the guide bar’s
pin hole. The chain tensioning pin may need adjustment to properly align with the
hole in the guide bar. Use the chain tensioning wheel (the part with remark-4) to
adjust its location until it fits in the guide bar.

5. Turn the chain tensioning wheel to preliminarily tighten the guide bar enough that
it stays in place. While holding the bar still, place the cover back onto the saw.
Make sure the tab properly lines up with the slot on the body of the saw (See Fig.
4). Lock the cover in place with the cover locking knob by turning it clockwise until
it engages.

Tensioning the chain
1. Check the chain tension by pulling the saw chain away from the guide bar. A
properly tensioned chain should have roughly 1/8 inch (3mm) of distance between
itself and the bar guide (See Fig. 5).

2. If adjustments are needed, loosen the bar adjustment locking knob one fullturn.
3. To adjust the saw chain tension, rotate the chain tensioning wheel (See Fig. 6).
Rotating the wheel upwards increases the tension while rotating it downwards
decreases tension. A properly tensioned chain should have no sag (See Fig. 7)
and should only be able to be pulled 1/8 inch (3mm) away from the guide bar of
the saw.

4. Once the chain is properly tensioned, tighten the bar adjustment locking knob. Do
not over-tension the chain: this will lead to excessive wear and reduces the life of
both the bar and chain.
Note: The saw chain must be tensioned properly in order to ensure safe operation.
The chain tension is optimal if the saw chain can be lifted 1/8 inch (3mm) from the
centre of the guide bar. Since the saw chain heats up during operation, its length
can therefore fluctuate. Check the chain tension every 10 minutes of operation and
adjust as necessary, particularly for new saw chains. Slacken the saw chain after
the work is completed since it shortens when cooling down. In doing so, you can
elongate the chain’s life and prevent damage.
