2. INTENDED USE
ERGO XR chair allows different height and lateral adjustments to position a seated patient when
taking X-ray. It isused to support a seated patient during medical examination or short procedure.
It is intended to be operated by healthcare professional in a medical environment including
hospitals, clinics and doctor’s office.
3. SYMBOL IDENTIFICATION
The following symbols and their definitions are used throughout this manual.

WARNING. Alerts the reader about a situation, which if not avoided, could result

4. WARNINGS
MANDATORY. Read, understand and keep this manual before starting to use
IBIOM’s products. This manual must be available for everyone using IBIOM’s
products.
WARNING. ERGO XR chair is designed for indoor use on flat surfaces.
WARNING. Always lock wheels before the patient is placed on chair.
WARNING. Never use braking system to stop a moving chair.
WARNING. Do not use ERGO XR chair for any purpose other than the intended
use.
WARNING. Do not modify this equipment without IBIOM's authorization.
WARNING. Do not use in oxygen-rich environment.
WARNING. Do not use in MRI environment.
WARNING. Do not use in wet environment.
WARNING. Never exceed safe working load of 450lb or 205kg on chair. Safe
working load includes patient’s weight and accessories.
WARNING. Never exceed safe working load of 75lb or 34kg on arm.
WARNING. Do not sit on backrest.
WARNING. Do not sit on arm.
WARNING. Always lower chair to minimum height for patient access.
WARNING. Do not leave patient unattended.
WARNING. Do not use ERGO XR chair to move a patient from one room or floor
to another.
WARNING. To ensure proper operation of the product, maintenance must be done
as described in this manual.
WARNING. Read the warnings in the various sections of this manual.
WARNING. Always ensure there is sufficient clearance around chair before
activating the various movements to avoid collisions with the environment,
equipment and people.
WARNING. Always have patient enter and exit chair from the front.
WARNING. Avoid placing hands and other body parts near mobile parts or locking
mechanism.
WARNING. Once arm and backrest arelocked in upward position, make sure they
are securely locked.
WARNING. Do not let fall mobile parts.
WARNING. Ensure that lateral movement is locked after use and before patient
sits in the chair.

6. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 Chair functions
WARNING. Always ensure there is sufficient clearance around chair before
activating the various movements to avoid collisions with the environment,
equipment and people.
WARNING. Always lock wheels before the patient is placed on chair.
WARNING. Always lower chair to minimum height for patient access.
WARNING. Always have patient enter and exit chair from the front.
WARNING. Do not leave patient unattended.
WARNING. Once arm and backrest arelocked in upward position, make sure they
are securely locked.
WARNING. Ensure that lateral movement is locked after use and before patient
sits in the chair.
WARNING. Avoid placing hands and other body parts near mobile parts or locking
mechanism.
Lever allowing lateral sliding.
Pull lever towards back of the
chair, slide and release lever
to lock.
Foot pedal for height adjustment:
•Raise: pump down lever.
•Lower: push down lever at its lowest
position and hold.
•Lock seat rotation: lift lever up.

6.2 Retractable arms and backrest
WARNING. Never exceed safe working load of 75lb or 34kg on arm.
WARNING. Do not sit on backrest.
WARNING. Do not sit on arm.
WARNING. Do not leave patient unattended.
WARNING. Always ensure there is sufficient clearance around chair before
activating the various movements to avoid collisions with the environment,
equipment and people.
WARNING. Always have patient enter and exit chair from the front.
WARNING. Avoid placing hands and other body parts near mobile parts or locking
mechanism.
WARNING. Once arm and backrest arelocked in upward position, make sure they
are securely locked.
WARNING. Do not let fall mobile parts.

1- Lift arm.
2- Recline arm towards front.
Follow same steps to recline backrest.
Backrest may be reclined on both sides.

6.3 Central lock
WARNING. ERGO XR chair is designed for indoor use on flat surfaces.
WARNING. Always lock wheels before the patient is placed on chair.
WARNING. Never use braking system to stop a moving chair.
WARNING. Do not use ERGO XR chair to move a patient from one room or floor
to another.
The central brake mechanism is controlled with the pedals located at the base, in the center of
the chair. Engage pedal foot pedal in one of the 2 positions:
•Red: 3 wheels out of 5 are locked;
•Green: all 5 wheels unlocked.
