Thank you for purchasing
the
iHome iBT30.
This
product
is
designed to wirelessly stream music from all
Bluetooth smartphones and tablets.
Along with
the
included
Quick
Bluetooth Connection
Guide
this
instruction booklet explains the basic
operation and care
of
the unit. Please read
them
carefully and keep for future reference.
Maintenance
• Place
the
unit on a level surface
away
from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
• Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural
wood
and lacquered finish. A cloth or other
protective material should be placed between
it
and the furniture.
• Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents,
such
as benzene, thinner or similar materials can
damage
the surface
of
the unit.

the

Charging
l.
Connect
the
included
AC
adaptor
to
the
DC jock
located on
the
back of
the
charging base and connect
the
other end to a working wall outlet. Place unit on
charging base.
For
first time
use,
leave unit on
charging base until fully charged {about l 0
hours).
You
can operate the unit while
it
is
charging.
The
status
indicator on
the
front of
the
unit will flash red
when
the
unit needs charging and
glow
steadily red
while
it
is
charging.
Once
the
unit
is
charged,
the
red
status
light does not appear.
Turning
the
Unit
ON
and
OFF
l .Slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
located on
the
back
of
the
unit to
the
on position {right)
to
turn
the
unit
ON.
The
status
indicator on
the
front of
the
unit will
glow
blue.
2.
To
save power when operating on
the
internal battery,
press
the
Power
Button
located on top of
the
unit to
enter standby mode, which
uses
less
power, but
still
allows normal operation.
The
status
indicator
on
the
front
of
the
unit will
turn
off.
Note
that if no audio
is
detected within 3 minutes when power
is
on,
the
unit
automatically
reverts
to standby mode.

back of

unit to

on position {right)
to
turn
the
unit
ON.
2.
Turn
on
your Bluetooth-enabled device and
turn
on
Bluetooth capability
as
described
in
the
device's
user
manual.
3.
Press
and
hold
the
Pairing
Button
{located
on
the
back of
the
unit)
for 2 seconds.
The
unit will
turn
on
and attempt
to
auto link to a previouslyJaired device for l 0 seconds, indicated by
the
front and back
indicator lights flashing blue.
If
a Iinke device
is
found,
the
indicator lights will
glow
solid blue.
4.
If
no linked device
is
found,
the
unit will enter pairing mode, and
the
lights will flash blue while
the
unit attempts to pair. "iHome iBT30" should
appear
on
your device's menu.
If
"Not
Paired",
"Not
Connected" or similar message appears
on
your device, tap on "iHome iBT30" to
begin/
complete
pairing.
If
your device
asks
for a password, enter
1234
or
0000
on
the
keyboard of your device.
If
no device
is
paired within 3 minutes,
the
front and back indicator lights will flash red three times and
the
unit will revert to
its
previous state.
To
retry pairing, follow steps 1to
4.
5.
Once
paired with a device,
the
blue indicator lights will
glow
steadily and 2 confirmation
tones
will
sound.
There
should be an indication
on
your device that pairing
is
complete.
On
some devices, you
must
then
select "Use
as
Audio Device {stereo)" or similar on
the
device's Bluetooth
menu.
Once
paired,
your device should link to
the
iBT30 whenever within range.

Pairing
with
a
Different
Device
Using
the
iBT3Q
When
you power
ON
the
speaker,
it
will automatically link with
the
previously paired Bluetooth device
as
long
as
that device
is
still
within range {opprox.

feet).
So,
to
pair with a different device you
must
turn
off
the
Bluetooth capability of
the
already paired device.
Playing
Audio
Via
Bluetooth
l.
Slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
to
the
on position (right) to
turn
the
unit
ON.
The
front and back blue
lights will flash
as
the
unit searches for a previously paired device, and
then
turn
solid blue once a
previously paired device
is
detected/
connected.
You
con
then
listen
to audio streamed wirelessly
from
your paired iPod, iPhone, iPod or other Bluetooth device.
2.
Use
the
controls on your Bluetooth device
to
play or pause audio and navigate tracks.
3. Adjust
the
volume on
the
unit by pressing
the
Volume
-
Button
or
Volume
+
Button.
You

adjust volume on your device.

When
done listening, slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
to
the
off position
(left)
to
turn
the
unit OFF.
Note: Audio playing through
the
unit via
the
Aux line-in jock will be interrupted whenever Bluetooth
audio
is
detected.

Pairing
for
Linking

Units
If
you have 2 iBT30
units,
you can activate stereo pairing between them.
l.
Slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
to
the
on
position {right) on each unit to
turn
the
unit
ON.
2.
Press
and
hold
the
Pairing
Button
{located
on
the
back of
the
unit)
AND
the
Volume+
Button
together
for 2 seconds to define one iBT30
as
the
MASTER
unit.
3.
Press
and
hold
the
Pairing
Button
(located
on
the
back of
the
unit)
AND
the Volume-
Button
together
for 2 seconds to define the other iBT30
as
the
SLAVE
unit.
The
pairing confirmation tone will sound.
While
paired
in
this
manner,
the
Master unit plays
the
left channel and
the
Slave unit plays
the
right
channel. Volume
is
controlled on
the
Master unit.
4.
To
deactivate
the
stereo Bluetooth link between
the
2
units,
slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
on each
unit to
the
OFF
position
{left).

Audio

Aux
In
1. Connect one end of
the
included 3.5mm stereo audio cable
to
the
Aux-in jack on
the
back of
the
unit
and connect
the
other end to
the
headphone or line-out jock on your audio device.
2. Slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
to
the
on position (right) to
turn
the
unit
ON.
3. Power on
the
audio
device and
use
the
controls
on
the
device to play or pause audio, and navigate
tracks.
4.
Adjust
the
volume on
the
unit
by
pressing
the
Volume-
Button
or
Volume+
Button.
You
can also adjust
the
volume
on
your device.
5.
When
done listening, slide
the
Power
Off/On
Switch
to
the
off position
(left)
to
turn
the
unit
OFF.
Remember to
turn
off your audio device, too.

Using
the
iBT30
Charging
Devices
via
USB
Port
l . Connect
the
standard size end of a
USB
cable (not included) to the
USB
Port
on
bock of
the
unit and
connect
the
other end
to
the
charging port
on
your device.
2.
Monitor
the
charging
on
your device. Some devices
use
a proprietary charging method and will not
charge using
the
USB
Port.
If
this
happens, you
must
charge your device using
the
charger that come
with
it.

Unit
doesn't
respond
(no
power)
• Check that all connections are correct and properly plugged in.
•
Make
sure
your device
is
properly paired with
the
iBT30.
•
Make
sure
the
Power
is
ON,
indicated by a solid blue light
on
the
front of
the
unit.
Unit
doesn't
respond
(frozen
or
locked
up)
•
If
the
unit becomes unresponsive,
the
software may have frozen or become locked up.
Remove
the
unit
from
the
charging base.
Insert
the
end of a paper clip or similar into
the
reset
pin hole
on
the
bottom
of
the
unit.
Trouble
pairing
device/
computer
with
iBT30
Bluetooth implementation varies depending
on
your device's hardware and operating
system.
Please
see
our website for updates
on
pairing.
•
Make
sure
you have
the
latest firmware for your device.
•
Make
sure
your device
is
working properly. Check your device's manual for details
on
Bluetooth pairing
and linking.

When
you power

last

device if

product fail to function

a satisfactory manner, it

best to

return
it

tail to resolve

matter and service

discretion, replace

decision

Before returning

product for service, please first replace

batteries (if applicable) with
fresh
ones, as exhausted or defective
batteries are
the
most
common cause of problems encountered.

Return
Authorization and for the address
of
the
Factory Service Center.
2.
Remove
the
batteries (if applicable) and pack the unit
in
a well padded, heavy corrugated box.
SDI
is
not responsible for
damage
that occurs during shipping to the Factory Service Center.
3. Enclose a photocopy
of
your sales receipt, credit card statement1 or other proof of
the
date of purchase, if within
the
warranty
period. Also include your name and address information, a briet description for
why
the unit
is
being returned, and
the
return
authorization number.
No
unit can be processed without a
return
authorization number.
4.
Write
the
return
authorization number on
the
side
of
the shipping package and send
the
unit prepaid and insured to the
Factory Service Center address authorized by
SDI
Customer Service.

BEFORE
YOU
START
Your
Bluetooth
device
(cellphone,
MP3
player,
computer,
etc.)
must
support
the
A2DP
Bluetooth
profile
(commonly
known
as
stereo
audio
profile)
to
work
with
the
iHome
iBT30.
Many
of
the
latest mobile phones
and
PCs
with built-in Bluetooth functionality will support this profile. For
accurate information about your product,
please
refer
to
your
Bluetooth
device's
user
manual
for
details
on
the
Bluetooth
profiles
it
supports
and
on
how
to
set
the
device's
Bluetooth
pairing/searching/setup
mode.
ABOUT
PAIRING
Pairing
is
the
term
used
when
wirelessly
connecting
two
Bluetooth
devices
for
the
first
time.
This
allows
the
devices
to
"see"
each
other
and
creates
a
unique
lasting
connection
between
the
specific
devices.
PAIRING
&
LINKING
YOUR
BLUETOOTH
DEVICE
WITH
THE
iBT30
1)
Make
sure
your
Bluetooth
device
is
fully
charged.
Turn
it
on.
2)
Turn
on
Bluetooth
functionality
on
your
Bluetooth
device.
Typically,
Bluetooth
controls
are
found
on
the
device's
tools
or
settings
menu
(see
your
user
manual).
Turn
on
Bluetooth
connectivity
and
make
your
device
"discoverable".
3)
Slide
the
Power
Button
on
the
back
of
the
unit
to
ON
to
turn
the
unit
on.
4)
Press
and
hold
the
Pairing
Button
on
the
back
of
the
unit
for
2
seconds.
The
indicator
lights
will
flash
blue
indicating
pairing
attempt.
"iHome
iBT30"
should
appear
on
your
device's
menu.
If

Paired",

re-link
manually

selecting
iBT30
from
the
Bluetooth
device's
menu
on
your
Bluetooth
device.
