3Removethepackingandmakesuretheappliancehasn’tbeendamagedduring
transport. If you have any doubts, don’t use the appliance. Call a qualified
technician for assistance. For safety, keep packing materials (plastic bags,
polystyrenefoam, tacks,etc.) awayfrom children.
4Theappliancemust beinstalledbya qualifiedtechnicianinaccordance withthe
manufacturer’sinstructions.No liabilityforinjury ordamageto persons,animals
or property will be accepted by the manufacturer arising from failure to follow
theseinstructions.
5Theelectrical safetyof thisappliance isensured onlyif itis correctlyconnected
toan efficientlyearthedsystem inaccordancewith electricalsafetyregulations.
Make sure this basic safety requirement has been complied with. If in doubt,
haveitchecked byaqualifiedtechnician.No liabilityfordamagewill beaccepted
bythemanufacturer becauseofdefective earthing.
6Beforeconnectingtheappliance,makesure thespecificationsontheratingplate
correspondwiththose ofyourpower supply.
7Checkthatyour supplyandsockets aresufficientfor thetotalloadtaken byyour
appliancewhich isstated onthe ratingplate. Ifyou haveany doubts,contact a
qualifiedtechnician forservice.
8Amultipolecircuitbreaker withaspacebetweencontactsof3 mmormoremust
be fitted for installation
9Ifthe socket andcookerplug arenotcompatible, havethesocket replacedwith
asuitablemodel byaqualified technicianwhoshould alsocheckthatthe cross-
sectionofthesocket cable issuitedtothepowerabsorbed bytheappliance.The
useof adaptors, multiplesockets and/or extensions,is notrecommended. If
theiruse cannotbe avoided,rememberto useonly singleormultiple adapters
andextensions whichcomply withcurrent safety regulations. In thesecases,
neverexceedthe maximumcurrentcapacity indicatedonthesingle adaptoror
extensionandthe maximumpowerindicatedonthe multipleadapter.
10 Donot leavethe applianceplugged inif itis notnecessary. Switchoff themain
switchand gascock whenyouare notusing thecooker.
11 The openings and slots used for ventilation and dispersion of
heat must never be closed or plugged.
12 The user must not replace the supply cable of this appliance. Always call an
after-salesservicing centreauthorisedbythe manufacturerinthe caseofcable
damageorreplacement.
13 Thisappliancemustbeusedforthepurposeforwhichit wasexpresslydesigned.
Anyotheruse(e.g.heatingrooms)isconsideredtobeimproperandconsequently
dangerous.
Themanufacturerdeclines allresponsibility fordamageresultingfrom improper
andirresponsibleuse.
14 Anumberoffundamentalrulesmustbefollowedwhenusingelectricalappliances.
Thefollowing areofparticular importance:
•donot touchtheappliance whenyourhands orfeet arewet
•donotusethe appliancebarefooted
•donotuseextensions,butifthesearenecessarycautionmustbeexercised.
•neverpull the powersupplycable ortheappliance tounplugthe appliance
plugfrom themains.
•neverleave theapplianceexposed to atmosphericagents(rain, sunetc.)
•donot allowchildren orpersons whoare notfamiliar withthe applianceto
useit, withoutsupervision.
15 Always unplug the hob from the mains or switch off the main switch before
cleaningorcarryingout maintenanceoperations.
16 If the surface of the glass breaks, disconnect the appliance immediately. For
repairscallonlyan authorisedafter-salesservicingcentre and requesttheuseof
originalspareparts only.Failure to complywiththe abovemaycompromisethe
safetyof theappliance.
17 Ifyouare nolongerusing theappliance,rememberto makeitunserviceable by
unpluggingtheappliancefromthemainsandcuttingthesupplycable.Alsomake
allpotentially dangerouspartsof theappliance, safe,aboveall forchildren who
couldplay with theappliance.
18 Thevitreous chinahobis resistanttotemperature fluctuationsandshockproof.
Rememberhoweverthatsharpkitchen toolsor cuttersmay breakthe surface of
thehob.If thishappens,unplug thecookerimmediatelyfrom themainsandcall
yourlocal servicingcentre.
19 Rememberthat thecooking surface remainshot forat leasthalf anhour after
youswitch off thesurface. Donot placecontainers or otherobjects onthe hot
surface.
20 Avoidsetting anythingon theglass surfaceof thecooktop.
21 Donotturn onthecookingsurfaces ifthereare sheetsofaluminiumfoil orplastic
onthehob.
22 Keepaway fromthehot surfaces.
23 Whenusingsmall electricalhouseholdappliancesclose tothehob,ensure that
thepower cabledoes notrest onthe hotsurfaces
24 Keeppot handlesturnedinwards toavoid knockingthepot offthe hob.
25 When you turn on the cooking surface always place a pot on the surface
immediatelyas itwillotherwise overheat veryquicklyand possiblydamagethe
heatingelements.
26 Preliminary instructions. The glass sealant utilised may leave traces of
greaseontheglass.Remembertowipe theseawaywith anormal nonabrasive
detergentbeforeyouturnon theappliance. Duringthe firstfew hoursof usethere
maybe asmell ofrubber whichwilldisappear veryquickly.
27 When the appliance is in use, the heating elements and some
parts of the oven door become extremely hot. Make sure you
don't touch them and keep children well away.
28 Makesure theknobs areinthe “•”/”o”position whentheappliance isnot inuse.
29 Ifthe cooker isplacedon apedestal,take thenecessaryprecautions toprevent
thesame from slidingoff thepedestal itself.
To maintain the EFFICIENCY and SAFETY of this appliance, we recommend:
• call only the Service Centers authorized by the manufacturer
• always use original Spare Parts
The appliance must be used by adults only for
the preparation of food, in accordance with the
instructions outlined in this booklet. Any other
use of the appliance (e.g. for heating the room)
constitutes improper use and is dangerous. The
manufacturer may not be held liable for any
damage resulting from improper, incorrect and
unreasonable use of the appliance.

The following instructions should be read by a qualified
technician to ensure that the appliance is installed,
regulatedandtechnicallyservicedcorrectlyincompliance
with current regulations.
Important: disconnect the cookerfromtheelectricitywhen
making any adjustement, maintenance operation, etc.
Positioning
Theappliance can be installed nexttofurnitureunitswhich
are no taller than the top of the cooker hob. For proper
installation of the cooker, the following precautions must
be taken:
a) Kitchen cabinets installed next to the cooker that are
taller than the top of the hob must be situated at least
200 mm from the edge of the hob.
b) Hoodsmustbe installed according to the requirements
intheinstallation manual forthe hoods themselvesand
in any case at a minimum distance of 650 mm.
c) Place the wall cabinets adjacent to the hood at a
minimum height of 420 mm from the hob (see figure).
d) Should the cooker be installed beneath a wall cabinet,
the latter should be situated at least 700 mm
(millimetres) away from the hob, as shown in the figu-
re.
e) the cut-out for the cooker cabinet should have the
dimensions indicated in the figure.
Levelling your appliance (only on a few models)
Yourcookeris supplied with feetforlevellingthe appliance.
If necessary, these feet can be screwed into the housings
in the corners of the cooker base (Fig. A).
Mounting the legs (only on a few models)
Press-fitlegsare supplied which fit under the base of your
cooker (Fig.B).

Electrical connection
The power supply cable since its size depends on the
electric connection (seethefollowingconnectiondiagram).
Feeding cable installation
Terminal block opening:
Unscrew screw “V”(Fig. C)
Pull and open the junction block lid
For the installation of the feeding cable carry out the
following operations:
positionthe small connection A-Baccordingtothetype
of connection that has to be performed using the
scheme shown in the figure D.
Note: the small connections are prepared by the Factory
for the 230V monophase connection (contacts 1-2-3 are
connected to one another).The bridge 4-5 is situated in
the lower part of the terminal block.
introducethe cables(Nand $)as shown in the figure
and tighten the relative screws.
fix the remaining cables on the 1-2-3 clips.
fixthefeedingcablein the special cable stop and close
the cover fastening it with the screw “V”.

Connecting the supply cable to the mains
Fit a plug, normalised for the load indicated on the data
plate, on the cable; when making the connection directly
tothe mains, an omnipoIar switchwithaminimumopening
of3 mm between the contacts,must be installed between
theappliance and the mains.This switchmustbe sufficient
for the load and must comply to regulations in force (the
earthing wire must not be interrupted by the switch).The
power supply cable must be positioned so that it does not
exceed 50°C more than room temperature at any point of
its length.Before making the connection check that:
the limiter valve and the home system can support the
appliance load (see data plate);
the power supply system has an efficient earthing
connection which complies with the provisions of
current regulations;
the socket or omnipoar circuit-breaker is easily
accessible once the cooker has been installed.
