4.Description
TheAQUALOOPpipediffusor(AL‐PD)isdesignedespeciallyforwatertreatmentplants.Thespecial
constructionenableseasyinstallationinvarioustypesoftankswithouttheneedtofixthediffusorstothe
bottom.
Thediffusorisequippedwithinternalweighttooperateagainstbuoyancyforce.Thediffusorcontains,
dependingonitssize(AL‐PD78andAL‐PD142),ofoneortwoequallyair‐suppliednonelasticpipes,coated
byEPDMmembranesandbasedontwoarchedpillars.Thepillarsarecoatedwithanti‐sliprubberpartsat
thebottomtoinhibitshiftingofthediffusor.Atthetailendofthepipediffusoraliftingropeisinstalled.
Airentersthenonelasticpipethroughaballvalve,shut‐offfitting,connectingairhoseandhoseconnector
atthediffusorbase.Itexitsnonelasticpipeviaitsmembranecoatedsurface,therebygeneratingfine‐air‐
bubbles.Thesystemcanbeoperatedcontinuallyorintermittently.
Sinceemergenceofcondensationwateronthepipe’sinsideoccurs,eachpipeisequippedwithadrainage
valveanddrainagehose.Fromthedrainagevalveaseparateairhoseisledtothebottompartonthe
ground.Afteropeningthevalve,thecondensatewateristhenpushedoutofthepipebythecompressed
airandthuscleansthepipe.
Note:Flowrateoperationbelowtherecommendedrange,resultsinfasterfoulingofthemembrane.Ifthe
membraneisoperatedabovetherangeforalongerperiodoftime,overstretchingofthemembranemay
occurandtheservicelifewillbereduced.
