WHEELCHAIR USER
As a manufacturer f wheelchairs, Invacare endeav rs t supply a wide variety f
wheelchairs t meet many needs f the end user. H wever, final selecti n f the
type f wheelchair t be used by an individual rests s lely with the user and his/her
healthcare pr fessi nal capable f making such a selecti n.
WHEELCHAIR TIE-DOWN RESTRAINTS AND SEAT RESTRAINTS
Wheelchair users sh uld n t be transp rted in vehicles f any kind while in
wheelchairs. As f this date, the Department f Transp rtati n has n t appr ved
any tie-d wn systems f r transp rtati n f a user while in a wheelchair, in a m ving
vehicle f any type.
It is Invacare’s p siti n that users f wheelchairs sh uld be transferred int
appr priate seating in vehicles f r transp rtati n and use be made f the restraints
made available by the aut industry. Invacare cann t and d es n t rec mmend any
wheelchair transp rtati n systems.
 WARNINGS
Wheelchairs sh uld be examined during maintenance f r signs f c rr si n (water
exp sure, inc ntinence, etc). Electrical c mp nents damaged by c rr si n sh uld
be replaced IMMEDIATELY.
Wheelchairs that are used by inc ntinent users and/ r are frequently exp sed t
water may require replacement f electrical c mp nents m re frequently.
Invacare pr ducts are specifically designed and manufactured f r use in c njuncti n
with Invacare access ries. Access ries designed by ther manufacturers have n t
been tested by Invacare and are n t rec mmended f r use with Invacare pr ducts.
The seat p siti ning strap is a p siti ning belt nly. It is n t designed f r use as a
safety device withstanding high stress l ads such as aut r aircraft safety belts. If
signs f wear appear, belt MUST be replaced IMMEDIATELY.
SIGNAL WORD MEANING
DANGER Danger indicates an imminently hazardo s sit ation which,
if not avoided, will res lt in death or serio s inj ry.
WARNING Warning indicates a potentially hazardo s sit ation which, if
not avoided, co ld res lt in death or serio s inj ry.
CAUTION Ca tion indicates a potentially hazardo s sit ation which, if
not avoided, may res lt in property damage.

*NOTE: Values for range are calculated for maximum chair weight rating using largest batteries
applicable (M17 - 12 SLSM gel cell/PE 12V 12SLA), per test procedures described in
ANSI/RESNA WC/VOL2-1998 Section 4 and meet federal reimbursement requirements for this
product. While considered typical, they are derived based on certain ideal conditions. Variances in
battery condition, user weight, usage pattern or overall terrain conditions will result in actual
values for range that differ from these stated values. Users should become accustomed to how their
unique conditions impact their individual results. Users should become familiar with the battery
discharge indicator on the joystick to determine the range of their wheelchair. Refer to Charging
Batteries on page 2 for more information about the battery discharge indicator.

Repair or Service Information
Set-up of the Electronics Control Unit is to be performed only by a qualified technician.
he final adjustments of the controller may affect other activities of the wheelchair.
Damage to the equipment could occur if improperly set-up or adjusted.
After any adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure that all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
Before performing any maintenance, adjustment or service verify that the On/Off switch
on the joystick is in the Off position.
Wheelchairs should be examined during maintenance for signs of corrosion (water
exposure, incontinence, etc). Electrical components damaged by corrosion should be
replaced IMMEDIA ELY.
Wheelchairs that are used by incontinent users and/or are frequently exposed to water
may require replacement of electrical components more frequently.
Tire Pressure
DO NOT USE YOUR WHEELCHAIR UNLESS IT HAS THE PROPER TIRE
PRESSURE (P.S.I.) - OTHERWISE THE WHEELCHAIR MAY NOT DRIVE
CORRECTLY, STOP CORRECTLY OR MAY EXPERIENCE ERRATIC
PERFORMANCE.
Maintain tire pressure at 30 p.s.i. Otherwise, the wheelchair may not drive correctly, stop
correctly or may experience erratic performance.
DO NO overinflate the tires. Failure to follow these suggestions may cause the tire to
explode and cause bodily harm. he recommended tire pressure is listed on the side wall
of the tire.
