Intended Use
An indoor and outdoor configurable wheelchair offered with variou option compliant with EN12183:2009.
The Ben NG & Ben NG HD manual wheelchair ha been de igned to provide mobility and comfort for
per on with impaired mobility.
The wheelchair ha been de igned to be u ed either/or by a eated u er/carer/attendant in both indoor and
outdoor environment .
The Ben NG wheelchair ha , in it standard tran it or elf propel format (15” - 18” eat width ), been
de igned to accommodate u er who weigh up to a maximum of 127kg (20 tone), have all limb intact and
have ufficient upper body trength to maintain a afe po ition within the wheelchair without the addition of
upporting aid .
The Ben NG HD wheelchair ha , in it heavy duty tran it or elf propel format (20”, 22” and 24” eat
width ), been de igned to accommodate u er who weigh up to a maximum of 160kg (25 tone), have all
limb intact and have ufficient upper body trength to maintain a afe po ition within the wheelchair without
the addition of upporting aid .
Adaptation from the tandard Ben NG & Ben NG HD wheelchair format are available to accommodate
u er who do not meet the above criteria; the e will only be con idered after a uitable ri k a e ment ha
been carried out by the product pre criber. When pre cribing wheelchair for u e by full or partial amputee
(above or below knee, ingle or double) it i important to recogni e that lower limb amputation will affect the
itting centre of balance of the wheelchair. The impo ibility of generali ing the individual ability of a
wheelchair u er mean it i imperative that the product pre criber carrie out a full tability evaluation to
en ure that the u er i afe in the u e of the wheelchair and the ri k of the wheelchair tipping i minimi ed.
The wheelchair hould only be u ed in accordance with the afety advice given within thi u er guide. Failure
to follow the recommended advice within thi u er guide could lead to per onal injury.
