setsupyouraccount.FollowthroughActivationWizardscreenstoactiveyourIridiumAxcessPointMail&
Webaccount.
Select“EnterUserIDandPassword”ifyouhavealreadyregisteredonIridium.com/AxcessPoint
Onthenextscreen,ensurethat“IridiumAxcessPointWiFi”isselected.
Next,enterinyourfullname,usernameandpasswordprovidedatregistration.
Next,youwillseeascreenindicatingthatregistrationiscomplete.
Click<OK>
Youwillseeascreenstatingthatactivationwassuccessful.
Click<Finish>toclosethescreen.
Youraccounthasbeenconfirmed,thenextstepistoconfigureyourdevice.
6. WiFiConfigurationforWindows,Mac,andiOS
BeforeusingyourIridiumAxcessPointMail&Webapplication,youwillneedtosetuptheWi‐Fihotspotwith
yourIridiumAxcessPoint.
ConnectyourIridiumAxcessPointdevicetoyourIridiumsatellitephonewiththeincludedUSBcable.
Setupthephoneinanoutdoorareawithopenaccesstotheskyandadequatesignalstrengthpriortouse.
TurnyourIridiumAxcessPointdeviceswitchONwhenattemptingtoestablishaWi‐Fihotspot.Whentwo
ofthreelightsontheIridiumAxcessPointdevicearegreen,youcanconnectyourWi‐Fienableddeviceand
useyourIridiumAxcessPointMail&WebtosendemailsandbrowsetheInternet.
YouwillnowneedtoconfigureyoursupportedWiFidevicetoconnecttotheWi‐Fihotspot.

Todraftemails,clickthe<Email>iconanddraftyouremails.Oncecompleted,clickthe<Start>buttonto
opentheIridiumconnectionandsendtheemails.Click<Stop>toendtheIridiumconnection.
TobrowsetheInternet,clickthe<Start>buttontostartthedatasessionontheIridiumnetwork.Clickthe
<Web>icononthemenutoopenthewebbrowser.
IfyouareusingWindows,makesureyouclickthe<Stop>icontoendtheIridiumconnectionwhenyou
aredone.
IfyouareusingaMaccomputer,closingthewebbrowserwillnotclosedowntheIridiumconnection.
YouwillneedtoselectCommand<Q>toclosetheIridiumconnection.
WhenyouarenotusingyourIridiumAxcessPoint,turnoffyourIridiumAxcessPointandIridiumphoneto
ensurethatunplanneddatachargesareavoided.
8. IridiumAxcessPointMailSetup
IridiumAxcessPointMailissimpleandeasytouse.Emailscanbecreatedoffline.Youcancreateandsendone
emailatatimeoryoucancreatemultipleemailsandsendthemalllaterwhenconnectedtotheIridium
network.Emailsreceivedduringsatelliteconnectioncanbereadofflineaftertheconnectionterminates.
Emailswillbesentandreceivedtoanew<user>@myiridium.netemailaddressthatiscreatedandprovided
duringregistration.Additionalinstructionsareprovidedtoforwardor“fetch”otheremailstothisaddressin
thefollowingsection.Your@myiridium.netaccountwillonlybeaccessiblewhenyouareconnectedtoIridium
AxcessPointMail&WebusinganIridiumconnection.Thereforeitisrecommendedthatemailsareforwarded
orfetchedfromexistingaccountsandthe@myiridium.netaccountisusedtoviewandrespondtoemails
whileusingIridium.ThiswayyouwillnotmissemailswhenyouarenotusingyourIridiumAxcessPoint.
Tosetup,firstlaunchtheIridiumAxcessPointMail&Websoftwarebydouble‐clickingonthe<AxcessPoint>
icononthecomputerdesktopordock.ThiswillopenuptheConnectionManagermenu.Fromhere,youcan:

EmailFetchingrequirestwoconnectionstocompletetheemailtransfer.
Thefirstconnectioninstructstheservertogofetchtheremoteemail.
Thesecondconnectioniswhenthefetchedemailwillbedownloaded.
Iftheoptionissetto“FetchMailAsynchronously”itwillcompletethesestepsduringtwoseparatemail
sessions.Ifyouwanttofetchanddownloadduringonesession,uncheckthissettingsoitwilloccurduring

ThenewemailismovedtotheSentfolder
ThemailboxiconintheSystemtraywillshowaredflagtonotifyyouthatthere’sanemailwaitinginthe
OutboxtobesentwhenthenextIridiumconnectionismade.

ThenewemailwillsitintheIridiumAxcessPointMail'Outbox'youmakeyournextIridiumconnection.Once
connectedtotheIridiumnetwork,IridiumMailautomaticallysendstheemailsinqueue.Youcanseethelistof
emailswaitingtobesentbyclickingonthe<Spool>iconinAxcessPointMail.ThiswillopentheViewEmail
boxwhichliststheemailswaitinginqueueforsending.


IridiumAxcessPointMail&Webhasbuiltindefaultsettingstoprotectyoufromsending/receivinglarge
emailsthatrequirelongsatelliteairtimeconnections.Youcanadjusttheselimitswithincertainparameters.
However,allowinglargeremailstobedownloadedwillmeanincreasedtimeontheIridiumnetworkandthe
userwillincurdatachargesaslongastheIridiumconnectionisinuse.

