1. Installing Batteries
1. Openthebatterylid
2. Insert three AAAalkaline batteriesaccordingtotheterminalspolaritylocation.
3.Insertthefrontend ofthebatterylidintothebatterylatch,press thebackendofthe
batterylidand then pressthelidsecurelyclosingthebatterycompartment.
2. UsingSDCard
Youmustinsertand use SD/MMCmemorycard;recorderwillstoreallrecorded
imagesand videoonthecard.Max. card sizeis8GB.
Notethat thecardhasatiny “LOCK”sliderlocatedon theside.
Set thissliderto “non-LOCK”position beforeinsertingandtaking videoorstill images.
1. PushtheSDcardintotheslot until it iscompletelyinserted.
2.Toremove/replacethecard,lightlypress insertedcardand recorderwill ejectthe
card.
3. TheSDcardhastobeformatted first: PressOKkeyandthenpressRightDirection
keytoenterSetup Menu.Press UpandDownDirectionkeytoselect ‘Format option.

PressRight Directionkeyand then pressUporDownDirectionkeytoselect ‘Yes option.
Thememorycardwill beformattedautomatically.
Pleasenotethatall thepreviousDATAincardwill bedeleted whenformatted.
3. Selecting LensMode
SlidetheMacro/ Normallensselectortoset either Normal (foreverydayuse)orMacro
mode(onlyforclose-up)dependingonthedistanceofthemainsubject.
1.Normalsetting issuitableforshooting subjectslocated 140cmormoreaway
fromtherecorder
2. Macrosetting issuitableforshooting close-upsubjects2.5-5cm away.
4. PowerON/ OFFtherecorder
1. PowerON: pressthePowerkeyforasecond ortwototurntherecorderON.
2.PowerOFF:pressthePowerkey(whentherecorderisactive)toturnthepower

OFF.
AutoPowerOFF:Whenrecorderhasbeenleftidlefor1minute,therecorderwill turn
OFF automatically.TheautomaticpowerOFF delaytimecanbesetat1,3or5
minutes.GotoSetup Mode/PowerSaveand makeadjustmentifnecessary(see
alsoSection11Setuptherecorder).
3. Lowpower:Whenthebatteriesbecomeexhausted, theLCD displaywill displaylow
batteryicon and theAutoPowerfeaturewill turntherecorderOFF.
5. Selecting theMODE oftherecorder
Whenactivated, therecorderisset in theVideo (recording)mode.
PresstheMODE keytochangeorselect desired mode:
Video (default mode) –recordingvideo clips
Camera mode –taking still photos, images
Playback mode –playing backrecorded video
ordisplaying still photos
6. Setting Dateand Time:
Press OKkey.Then press RightDirectionkeytoenterSetup Menu. Press Upand
DownDirectionkeytoselect ‘Date&Time option.Then pressRightDirection keyand the
current systemdateand timearedisplayedon theLCD screen.

Tochangethedateand time,usetheDirection key:UporDowntoadjust, Rightkeyto
movethecursor, OK keytoconfirm, thenOK keytoExit setupmode.
Toleavethedateand timeunaltered, pressLeft keyand thenOK keytoExit setup mode.
7. Indicators/ LEDlights:
Busylight- thelightwill turnonwhentherecorderisbusyrecordingvideo,capturing
photo, processingdata, orbeing connected tocomputer.
LEDlight –thissupporting lightmaybeused when recording video/picturesindark
environment. Please note that thislampiseffectiveforshort distancesonly.
SelfTimerlight –indicatesthat therecorderSelf Timerhasbeen activated.

8. Videomode:
Previewmode

1.OpentheLCD screen.
2.Press / holdthePowerkeyand turntherecorderON
3.Press theShutterkeytostart recording video
4.Tostoprecording, presstheShutterkeyagain.
Notethat ifthememorycardisfull, recorderwill stoprecording byitself.
5.ZoomINorzoomOUTduring recording bypressingZoomkeys; recorderhas4X
digitalzoomrange.

Changing theresolutionsetting ofvideo

3. Press Right Direction key.
4. Press UporDownDirection keytoselectthe required resolution setting:640x480 or
320 x240.
5. Press OKkeytoconfirmthe selection.Then press OKkeytoexitthe menu.

Changing theresolutionsetting ofphoto

3. Press Right Direction key.
4. Press UporDownDirection keytoselectthe required resolution setting:VGA(640 x
480) orotheroption shown.
5. Press OKkeytoconfirmthe selection.Then press OKkeytoexitthe menu.
SelfTimer
Therearetwomethodstoset Self Timermode:
Method 1:PressOKkeytoopen themenu.Thenpress UporDownDirection keyto
select ‘DriverMode option.Press RightDirectionkeyand asub-menu will appearon
LCDscreen.PressUporDowndirection keytoselect ‘2secdelayself timer or 10 sec
delayself-timer optionon thesub-menu.Then pressOKkeytoconfirmtheselection.
Press OKkeyagaintoexitthe menu.A ‘2secdelayselftimer or 10 secdelayselftimer
icon willbe displayed onLCD screen.
Method2:Press Left Direction keyanda 10 secdelayselftimer icon will appearon LCD
screen. (Note: Only10 secdelayself timermode can be set byMethod2).

Totakeaphotoinselftimermode,press Shutterkey.Recorderwill beep for10
secondsor2secondsandwill takeonephotoautomatically.
Todeleteselftimermodesetting, press Left Directionkeyonce.
Continuouslytaking threephotos:
PressOKkeytoopenthemenu thenselect ‘DriverMode.Press UporDown
Directionkeytoselect ‘Burst optionon themenu and thenpressOKkeytoconfirm
theselection.PressOKkeyagaintoexitthemenu. ABurstmodeiconwill appearon
LCDscreen. Press Shutterkeyandrecorderwill takethree photoscontinuously.
TodeleteBurst modesetting, pressLeft Directionkeyonce.
Taking photowithspecialeffect
1. Press OKkeytoopenthe menu.
2. Press UporDownDirection keytoselect ‘Effect option.
3. Press Right Direction key.
4. Press UporDownDirection keytoselect therequiredeffect: Normal; B&W(Blackand
White); Sepia; Negative;Red; Green orBlue.
5. Press OKkeytoconfirmthe selection.Then press OKkeytoexitthe menu.

10.Playback mode:
1. Press/ holdthePowerkeytoturntherecorderON
2. PresstheModekeytwicetoselect thePlaybackmode.
You canviewstill imagesorvideo bypressingdirection keyLeftorRightandfora
videofilejust presstheshutterkeytoplayit.
You canalsozoominorzoomoutoftheviewed photobypressingzoomkey.By
pressing Left orRight Directionkeyafterzoomingin,therecorderwill enterintopanmode
toviewtheimage.Toresumenormalpreviewmode, pressOK key.
PressOK keytoopen themenu, you will seeseveraloptions:
Lock:You canlock/unlockthephoto/videofiles that you choose.
Delete:Youcandeleteone/all files.
Playback

SlideShow:YoucansetuptheSlideShowand activateit.
Effect: Youcancreatespecialeffectsonthephotofiles.
Rotate:You can rotatethephotoimageby90degreesclockwise.
VoiceMemo:You canadd/deletevoicerecordtothephotofiles.
Start-upImage: You canselectonephototaken and set itastheStart-up Image
oftherecorder.
NOTE:
•When video fileis previewed, onlyLockandDeleteoptionsinthe menu areactive.
•Pleasenotethat recorded video and imagesappearnarroweron recorderLCD screen than
actualrecorded scene.
•All recorded imagesand video will be displayed full frameand showrealimage sizewhen
played backon computermonitorandTVscreen.

Playing recordedvideo
1. Select desired videorecord(see “filmrecorder”iconon theLCDscreen)
2. PresstheShutterkeytostartplayingrecorded video,pressShutterkeyagain
tostop playing.

Add voice memoonphotofile
1. Switchtherecordertoplaybackmode.
2. Browsetothephotoyou wishtoaddvoicememo.
3. PressOK keyandselect ‘VoiceMemo optionbypressingUp or Down
Directionkey.
4. PressRight Directionkeyandasub-menu appearsonLCD screen.
5. Select ‘Add Option and then pressOK keytoconfirm.
6. CounterappearsonLCD screen.Therecorderisnowreadytorecordvoice
memo. Just speakout themessageand themicrophoneon therecorderwill
recordthemessageautomatically.At thesametime, thecounterkeepson
counting automatically, indicating thetimeofrecordingvoicememo.
7. PressOK keyagaintostop recordingvoicememo.
Note:Themaximumtimeofvoicememorecordedis30 seconds.
Play Photo(withvoice memo)file
1 Select thephotowithvoice MemoinPlaybackmode;
2 PressShutterkeytostart playingthevoice Memooftheselectedphoto(with
voicememo)file:
PressOKkeytostopplayingthevoice Memo,UPkeytopause/resume
playing thevoice Memo.

11. Setup therecorder
1. PressOK keythenpress Right DirectionkeytoenterSetup Menu.
2.Thefollowing Optionsaredisplayed on theSetup Menu. Select theoption you want
bypressingUp or DownDirection key:
Sounds:Youmayturnon orturnoffthesoundoftripping Shutter, Start-up, Beeping
(whenanykeyispressed)andself timerBeeping.You mayalsochangetheVolume
ofaudiosound.
PowerFrequency:You mayalsoalterthefrequencysetting ofrecordersothat it
adaptstomatchpowersupplyand indoorfluorescent lampat 50Hzor60Hz.

PowerSave:You maymakethepowerturnoff in1minute, 3minutesor5minutes.
Date&Time: Set up thedateand time(seeSection6: Setting Dateand Time).
Language: Changethemenu toadifferent language.
Languageoption selection:Yourvideo recorderhastheoptiontodisplay
commandsandmessagesonthescreen inEnglish, French, Spanish, Italian,
PortugueseorDutchorpossiblyalternativelanguages.Toselect language,activate
thevideorecorderandit will remaininVideo Recording Mode. Press theOK Key
and theRIGHTKeytoentertheSetup Menu. UseUP/DOWNkeystoscroll and
select Languagemenu, thenpress theRIGHTkeytoreviewLanguagechoices.
UseUP/DOWNkeys toscroll and select desired Languageand press OKkeyto
confirmand set yourlanguagechoice.
TV Out: ChangetheTV output format tosuit PALorNTSCtelevision system.
Start-up Image:Disablethestart-upimage, resetthedefaultstart-upmanualoruse
theimageyouselect tobethestart-up image.
Format: Format theSD/MMCcard(seeSection 2: UsingtheSDCard).
Resetall: Resetall theoptionstodefault values.
Setting thestartup image:
1. Switchtherecordertoplaybackmode.
2. Browsetothephotoyou wishtouseasthestart-up image.
3. PressOK keyandselect ‘Start-up Ima optionbypressingUp or Down
Directionkey.
4. PressRight Directionkeyandasub-menu appearsonLCD screen.
5. Select ‘Set Optionbypressing Up or DownDirectionkeyand then pressOK
keytoconfirm.
6. PressOK keyagainand thenpressRight DirectionkeytoenterSetup Menu.

7. Select ‘Start-upIma optionbypressing Up or DownDirectionkey.
8. PressRight Directionkey.A sub-menuappearson LCDscreen.
9. Select ‘MyImage optionbypressingUp or DownDirectionkey.Thenpress
OK keytoconfirm.
10.PressOK keyagaintoexit theSetupMenu.
11.PressthePowerkeytoturnoff therecorder.
12.PressthePowerkeytoturnontherecorder.Thephotoyou select will display
on LCDscreen asthestart-up image.
ToDisablethestart-upimage, selectthe ‘Start-up Ima option intheSetupMenu and
then select ‘Off option.Afterturning therecorderoffand on again, thestart-up
screen will beblank.
Toreset thestart-up imagetodefault setting, select the ‘Start-up Ima option inthe
SetupMenu and then select ‘System option.Afterturning therecorderoff and on
again, thedefault start-up screen will bedisplayed.Alternatively, select ‘ResetAll
optionintheSetupMenu. ConfirmResetAll functionbyselecting ‘Yes option inthe
sub-menu.
