Read beforeoperating your range
All appliances - regardlessof the manufacturer-have the potential
throughimproperorcarelessuseto createsafetyproblems.Therefore
thefollowingsafetyprecautionsshouldbe observed:
1. Be sureyour applianceis properlyinstalledand groundedby a
qualifiedtechnician.
2. Neveruse yourappliancefor warmingor heatingtheroom. This
warningisbasedon safetyconsiderations.
3. Children shouldnot be left alone or unattendedin area where
applianceisinuse. Theyshouldneverbe allowedtositor standon
any partofthe appliance.
4. Wear properapparel.Loose-fitting or hanging garments should
neverbe wornwhileusingthe appliance.
5. Do notrepairorreplaceanypartoftheapplianceunlessspecifically
recommendedinthismanual. Allotherservicingshouldbereferred
to an authorizedJenn-AirServiceContractor.
6. Do not storecombustiblematerials,gasolineor other flammable
vaporsandliquidnearrange.Thisalsoappliestoaerosolspraysand
aerosolspray cans.
7. Do notuse waterongreasefires. Smotherfire orflame or usedry
chemicalor foam-type extinguisher.
8. Useonly dry potholders. Moistordamp potholderson hot surfaces
may result in bumsfrom steam.Do not use atowel or other bulky
cloth.
9. Select cookwarelargeenough to properly contain food and avoid
boilovers or spillovers. This will save on cleaning and prevent
hazardousaccumulationsoffood,sinceheavysplatteringorspillovers
left on a range can ignite. Pan size isespecially important in deep
fat frying.
10. Never leave rangeunattended at Hi heatsettings. Boilover causes
smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
11.TYPE OF COOKWARE - Avoid pansthat areunstableand easily
tipped, tn choosing pans, lookfor easily-grasped handles that will
stay cool. Pansthat aretoo heavy when filled with food can also be
a hazard. Ifpanhandles twistand cannot betightened,discardthe
pan. 5
12. HANDLES - Always turn pan handles to the side or back of the range
- not out into the room where they are easily hit. COOKWARE
HANDLES SHOULD BE TURNED INWARD ANDNOT EXTEND
OVER ADJACENT SURFACE BURN ERS to minimize burns, ignition
of flammable materials, and spillage due to unintentional contact
with the cookware.
13.CAUTION - Donotstoreitems ofinterest tochildrenin cabinets
above range-children climbing on the range to reach itemscould be
seriouslyinjured.
14. Do nottouchsurface burner areas or perimeter area around cooktop
or interiorsurfacesof ovens.During andafteruse,these areasmay
behot enough to cause burns. Avoid contact with these areas by
clothing or other flammable materials until they havehad sufficient
time to cool. Other surfaces may become hot enough to cause
burns-among these surfaces are the upper door frame and door,
oven vent opening and surfaces near the opening, and the top edge
of the control panel.
15. Do not heat unopened food containers. Build-up of pressure may
cause container to burst and result in injury.
16.Keep all controls "OFF"when unit is not in use.
17. GREASE - Grease is flammable and should behandled carefully.
Never leaveanycooking operation unattended.Letfat coolbefore
attempting to handle it. Do not allow grease to collect around the
range or inthevents. Wipeup spillovers immediately.
18. Iftherange is installednear a window, proper precautions should be
taken toprevent curtainsfromblowing over burnerscreating a FIRE
HAZARD.
19. Do not use aluminum foil to line burner spillover bowl.Restriction of
normal air flow may result in unsafe operation.
20. Clean only parts listed in this manual and use procedures
recommended.
21. Always allow hot pans to cool in a safe place out of the reach of small
children.
22. A faint gas odor may indicate a gas leak, If a gas odor is detected,
shut off thegas supply totherange, Callyourinstallerorlocal gas
company to have the possible leak checked.Never use amatch or
other flame to locate a gas leak.
23. Use care when opening oven door. Let hot air or steam escape
before removing or replacing food.

24. Keep ovenvent ductsunobstructed.Your rangeisventedthrough
thebaseofthebacksplash.Neverblockovenventorairintakes.Do
notobstructtheflow ofcombustionandventilationair.Restriction
ofair flowtothe burnerpreventsproperperformance.
25. Alwaysplaceovenrecksindesiredlocationwhileoveniscool.Ifrack
mustbemovedwhileovenis hot, donotletpotholdercontactoven
burnerflame.
26.Do notcleandoorgasket. The doorgasketis essentialfor a good
seal. Careshouldbetaken notto rub,damage,ormovethe gasket.
27. Donotuseovencleaners.Nocommercialovencleanerorovenliner
protectivecoatingofanykindshouldbeusedinoraroundanypart
ofthe oven.
28. CAUTION: BEFORESELF-CLEANING THE OVEN,REMOVE
FOOD, BROILERPAN AND OTHER UTENSILS.
29. Beforeservicingyour appliance,disconnectpowerto the range at
themainfuseorcircuitbreakerpanelandattheelectricalreceptacle.
30.Glazed cookware - only certain types ofglass,glass-ceramic,
ceramic,earthenware, or other glazed cookwareare suitablefor
cooktopsurfacewithoutbreaking due to the sudden change in
temperature. Useonlysuchcookwareas you know hasbeen
approvedforthis purpose.
31. Misuseofappliancedoors,suchasstepping,leaningorsittingonthe
door may resultin possibletippingoftheappliance,breakage of
door,and seriousinjuries.
32.Avoid placingthe range in amain "trafficpath"or in an isolated
locationwithnocounterspacenearby. Visualizethe oven in use
beforeselectinga location. Rememberthat openovendoorsmay
blocka passagewayand createa hazard.
33.Alwaysremovesoiledbroilerpanfromthebroilercompartmentafter
cookingfor grease left In the pan may become hot enough to
ignite.
34.Do notuse ovenforstoragespace.
35. PREPARED FOOD WARNING: Follow food manufacturer's
instructions. If a plasticfrozen foodcontainerand/orits filmcover
distorts,warpsorIsotherwisedamagedduringcooking,immediately
discardthefoodanditscontainer.The foodcouldbecontaminated.
36. Besure all packingmaterialsare removedfrom the rangebefore
operatingit to preventfireor smoke damageshouldthe packing
materialignite.

37.WARNING: To reduce therisk of tipping ofthe appliance, the
appliancemust be secured by a properly installed anti-tipdevice.To
check ifdeviceis installed properly: Usea flashlight and look
underneath the rangeto see that one ofthe rear leveling legs is
engaged inthebracketslot.When removing appliancefor cleaning,
be sureanti-tipdevice isengaged when range isreplaced. Theanti-
tip device secures the rear leveling leg to the floor, when properly
engaged.
38. Havethe installershow you thelocationofthegas shut off valve and
how to shut it off in anemergency.
39. Always place a pan offood on asurface burner beforeturning it on,
and turn it off beforeremoving thepanto prevent exposureto the
burnerflame.
40.This appliance has been testedfor safeperformance using
conventionalcookware. Do not useany devices or accessories that
are not specifically recommended in this manual. Do not use eyelid

To achieveoptimumcookingperformance,use cookpotswithfiat bottoms,tightfitting
covers,and sizedfor thesurface burner.
•Flame size should be adjusted so it does not extend beyond the edge of the
cookware. Thisinstructionisbased on safetyconsiderations.Adjustingthe size
oftheflametofit the sizeofthe cookwarealso helpsto savefuel.
•Cookpotswhichextendmorethattwoinchesbeyondthegrateortouchtheeooktop
may cause heat tobuildup, resultingin damageto theburnergrate, burneror
cooktop.
•Specialityitemssuch as wokswith a supportring,whichrestrictair cimulation
aroundtheburnerwillcauseheattobuildupandmayresultindamagetotheburner
grate,burneror cooktop.UseJenn-Air fiatbottomwok accessory,ModelAO142.
•Aluminum cookware heatsevenly andquickly. Aslightlylarger flamesize can be
used.Theflamecanbeadjustedsoitcomestotheedgeofthecookware.However,
theflame shouldNEVER be adjustedsothatitextendsbeyondthebottomofthe
cookware.
•Stainlesssteel cookwarewithcopper or aluminum cores heat evenly and fairly
quickly.Theflamesizeshouldbeadjustedtoextendonlyhalfwaybetween center
and edge ofthe cookwarabottomfor best results.
•Cast ironcookwareheatsslowly.
•Checkmanufacturer'srecommendationsbeforeusingporcelainonsteel,poree[ain
oncastiron, glass,glass/ceramic,earthenware,or otherglazed cookpots.
Ifthe cookwareiscovered,lessfuel willbe needed;therefore,alowerflame sizecan
beused.Note: Foodwillnotceokanyfasterwhenmorethantheamountofheatnaeded
to maintaina gentleboilisused.
•Acceptablewater-bathor pressurecannersshouldnot be oversizedand should
havea flat bottom. The followingare notrecommended:Oversizedcannersora
very largecannerthat restson two surfaceburnergrates.
•When canning,usethe Hi settingjustuntilthewatercomesto aboil orpressure
is reached inthe pressurecanner,then reduceto the lowestflame setting that
maintainsthe boilorpressure.
•Prolongeduseof the Hisettingortheuseofincorrectcanningutensilswillproduce
excessiveheat. Excessive heat can causepermanentdamageto theappliance.

WhenthecontrolknobisturnedON, gaswillflowintothebumer. Thesolidstateigniter
willclickuntilthegasisignited.(Note: Allburnerigniterswillsparkregardlessofwhich
burneris beingoperated.)
A properlyadjustedburnerwithcleanportswilllightwithina few seconds.Thecone-
shapedflamewillbeclearblueincolorwitha clearlydefinedinnercone. Thereshould
be notraceofyellowintheflame. Iftheburnerflameisyellow,liftsoff theports,or is
noisy,the airgas mixturemaybe incorrect.Therefore,contact aservice technician to
makethe neededadjustment.
The infinitesurfacecontrolsprovideflexibilityin heatsettingselection.(See pagetO.)
Incaseofprolongedpowerfailure,youcanmanuallylightthesurfaceburnerbyholding
a lightedmatchneartheburnerportsandslowlyturningthecontrolknobcounterclock-
wise(afterdepressing)tothe Lite setting.
Caution: When lightingthe surface burner, besureall ofthe controlsareintheOFF
position.Strikethematchfirstandholditinpositionbeforeturningtheknob
tothe Llte position.
Note: Becauseyouroverheadhoodfan iselectricitwillnot workduringa power
failuresosmokeand condensationcangather,
TheLo settingshouldproducea stableflame
whenturningtheknobfrom HI to Lo.The
flameshouldextendtotheouteredgeofthelip
on the burnercapwhen adjustedfor theLo
setting. Plus,theflamemustbe stableon all
portson Lo setting.
To adjust: OperatebumeronHi forabout5
minutesto preheat burner cap. Turn knob
backto Lo; removeknob,and insert a small
screwdriverintothecenterofthe valvestem.
Adjustflamesizebyturningadjustmentscrew
ineitherdirectionwhileholdingthevalvestem
securely.
Flamemustbe ofsufficientsizeto bestableonall burnerports. Ifflameadjustmentis
needed,adjustONLY onthe Lo setting. Neveradjustflamesizeon a highersetting.
Note; Allgasadjustmentsshouldbedonebya qualifiedserviceronly.

Display Window: Showstime of day,timer,and oven functions.
Oven Light Switch (ControtPanel):Whenthe dooris closed, pushthe Oven Light
Switchtoturnovenlightonoroff. Models FCG2O500and FCG20510: The ovenlight
automaticallycomesonwheneverthe ovendoor isopened.
Cook'topPanel/Backsplesh Light Switch (Control Panel) (Model FCG20510):Push
the Panel LightSwitchto turn thebacksplashlighton oroff.
• Showtime ofday.
• Countdownoftimeremainingwhen usingtimefunctions.
• Showtemperatureofoven as it risesto roachprogrammedtemperatureandthe
settemperatureonceitis reached.
• Serveas areminderto latchovendoorfor self-cleaningoperationwhenthe word,
door, is displayed.
• Recallprogrammedtemperatureor timewhen commanded.
•Flashto promptnext step.
• Indicatestatusof programmedfunction.
• Show programmedfunctionwhen recalled.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT MOVE DOOR LOCK LEVER TO THE RIGHT DURING A COOKING
OPERATION. If the door locklever is movedto the lockposition,thecooking
operation_automaticallybecancelledand _door"willappearin thedisplay.

Whenelectricalpoweris supplied orafter power interruption,the last clock time
displayedbefore powerwas interruptedwillflash. Time willadvance and continueto
flashuntilclockisreset.
To set time of day:
1. Touch Clook Pad.
IndicatorwordsSET TiME willflashand time digitswill appearinthe Display. (If
morethan30 secondselapse betweentouchingClock Pad andtouchingtheUp
orDownArrow Pads,theClock Padmustbetouchedagaininordertosetclock.)
2. TouchtheUp or Down Arrow Pads in either directionuntilcorrecttime of day
appearsin Display.
Note: Three secondslater,time ofdaywill automaticallybe entered.
To recalltime of day when another time function isshowing: TouchClock Pad.
(Note: To returnto anothertimefunctionpad,touchthe appropriatepad.)
To change time of day set on clock: Repeat abovesequence.
Note: ClockTimecannotbechangedwhenoven hasbeenprogrammedforTimed
Bakeor Self-Clean.Cancelprogrambefore reprogrammingclock.

Important: ThisintervatTimercanbe usedtoremindyouwhena period,upto9 hours
and 50 minutes,expires. It canbe usedIndependently ofany other even activityand

To set Timer:

The IndicatorWordsSet Timerwillfleshand ":00"appearsintheDisplay.
2.Touchthe Up Arrow Pad untildesirednumberofhoursand minutesappearin
Display.
Note: Ifmore than30secondselepsebetweentouchingTimerPadandtouching
theUp Arrow Pad, theTimer Pad mustbetouchedagaintoset thenumbers.
Important: Whenenteringhoursandminutes,hoursaretothe leftofthecolonwith
theHr Indicatorwordandminutesaretotherightofcolon.Dudngthelastminute,
countdownwillbe shownin seconds.

•Yourappliancefeaturespilotlessignition. A glow barwill fighttheoven burner.
•Besureoven controlisset inthe OFF positionprior to supplyinggas to the
appliance,
•Withthistypeofignitionsystem,theovenwillnotoperateduringa powerfailureor
ifthe ovenisdisconnectedfromthewall outlet. No attempt should be made to
operate oven during a power failure.
The sizeandappearanceofaproperlyadjustedovenburnerflameshouldbeasshown:

The oventemperature ismaintainedby cycling the burneron and off.After the oven
temperature has been set, there willbe about a 45 second delay beforetheburner
ignites. This isnormal and no gas escapesduring this delay.
Duringthe cleancycle, and someextended oven cooking operations, you may hear a
"popping" sound when theburner cycles off.This isa normal operating sound of the
burner.
The ovenventislocatedat thebase ofthe backsplash. When the oven isinuse, this
areamayfeel warmor hottothe touch. To preventproblemsdo not:
a. blockthe ventopening
b. touchthe areanearthe opening
and
e. placeutensils near thevent opening,

(Allowablerange is 10 minutesto 11 hoursand55 minutes.)
Example:Ifcookingtimeselectedfortheovenis2 hoursand 30 minutes,after3
secondstheDisplaywillshow:
