1. Camera Introduction
The camera has the following functions:
1. Ability to easily download pictures from the camera to
the computer software
2. Removable memory card
3. Simple and easy-to-use LCD panel
4. Various function mode specifications
5. Automatic power saving device
6. Compact, light weight and easy to carry
Systems requirement:
IBM PC or PC-compatible
1.Microsoft Windows 98 /2000
2.24MB memory , 32MB is recommended
3.VGA color display (TRUE color mode support is recommended)
4.CD-ROM drive and a 3.5* floppy drive
5.Available USB port.

2.Preparation
Loading the battery
To load the battery: (As shown by figures below)
Attaching the strap:

Memory Card Installation:
Installing the memory card as shown in figure 1 and below.
Setting the Pouch:
To set the pouch, please follow
the procedure as below.
The camera is operational only with the installation of memory
card.
Any new memory card used first time by this camera will
have to be formated.
Please see Page 13 for format procedure.
Note :?Be sure to turn the power off
when you want to replace the
memory card to avoid causing
damage to the card.

3.Nomenclature:
Mode button operations:
4 different modes will appear on the panel in
following sequence when you press the mode
button.
Normal/Self-timer mode:Press the mode button
once to switch Normal/Self-timer mode.
note:" 1 "is normal condition.
Note:The Self-timer givs you 10 seconds before it
captures the image
High/Low resolution mode : Press the mode
button for 3 seconds to switch High/Low resolution

Flash: Flash can be chosen in three modes:fill in,
off and auto, please refer to Page 11 for
detailed operations.

5. Basicoperations:
Taking pictures:
(1) Turn the power on.
(2) Set the mode you need and the NORMAL/MACRO switch
position.
(3) Frame the subject in the viewfinder.
(4) Press the shutter release button halfway for focusing,
until the green (shooting-ready) LED stops blinking,
which indicates the camera is ready for shooting.
(5) Press the shutter release button to the bottom and then
the " BUSY " will appear on the LCD , the shooting is
undergoing, and the image is under saving process.
(6) When "BUSY" disappears, images have been saved.
Please keep the lens clean to ensure better quality of image.
Please use a lintless cloth to clean gently in one direction
the surfa
ce of lens when cleaning.
Delete pictures:
(1) Delete last picture: press DEL button till ERASE is
displayed on the LCD. Then press shutter release
button and the last picture will be deleted.
(2) Delete all pictures: press DEL button twice till
"ERASE ALL" is displayed on the LCD. Then press
the shutter release button and all of the pictures in
memory card will be deleted.

Using flash:
The camera has three flash shooting modes:
note:Effective distance of flash is 1m~1.5m.
Self -timer Mode:
Under this mode, the shutter will be delayed for about 10
seconds to release after pressing the shutter release
button, to allow you to join the picture.
(1) Press the *mode* button to self-timer mode
(2) Using a tripod or a steady support to hold the camera
firmly
(3) Compose the picture and reserve a space for yourself
later.
(4) Press the shutter release button halfway for focusing,
and then press the shutter releare botton to the buttom.
Red self-timer LED ligh will blink for about 10 seconds
before shutter is released. Go to the reserved space
Auto flash: Flash will automatically fire under dim
light setting
Fill-in flash mode: The flash will always fire whenever
you take pictures. In low-light condition or back light
situation,it is recommended to use this mode.
Flash off mode: Flash will not function under this
mode.

Select resolution:
The camera has two resolution modes. Press the MODE
button for 3 seconds to switch High/Low resolution mode.
High resolution : Image is in 1280x960 pixels resolution.
Low resolution : Image is in 1024x768 pixles resolution.
Macro mode:
Under "MACRO" mode, focus is set at 20 cm.
Macro mode provides a function of portrait.
(1) Push the Marco switch to " ".
(2) Press the shutter release button
(3) When the "BUSY" sign disappeared, shooting is
completed.
(4) You can use the strap to measure the required focusing
distance (22~25cm) for Macro mode.
Focus your subject within the printed picture
area of Micro mode viewfinder.

Automatic power saving function:
1.Under normal operation condition or connecting to the
PC,the camera will be shut off automatically after being
idle for 3 minutes.
Using memory card:
One memory card is enclosed with the camera. You
may purchase more memory cards (SSFDC 2/4/8/16 MB,
3.3 Volt) as you would like to use for the camera at your
own cost. Please contact your nearest dealer for more
information.
When you need to put in, or change the memory card,
please:
(1) Turn off the power
(2) Lift the side cover
(3) Take out the current memory card
(4) Insert the replacement memory card ( Be sure to format if the
card is never used in this camera before.)
(5) Close the card side cover
Important Note:
Format : Insert a new memory card, and press DEL button twice until
*ERASE ALL* is shown in the LCD. Press the shutter release
button, then the memory card is formated
Note : When taking out the memory card, please be sure to turn
off the power to avoid causing damage to the memory card.
Important Note:
Always remember to push the Macro switch back to normal
" " position after use of this mode, or the next pictures
you take for normal shooting will be blurred.

Connect the camera to your personal computer:
(1) Please install the provided " PhotoSuite " software to
your computer and activate it.
(2) Prepare the USB cable, plug one end into the camera
connection port, and the other end to USB port of
the computer.
(3) When you *Select source *and*Acquire TWAIN*,the
„ „ will be shown in the LCD and the camera is
linked with PC and the pictures you have taken can
be downloaded through the software.

6. Using theTWAIN Driver Interface
Getting to Know the TWAIN Interface
The digital camera is shipped with a user-friendly software of
TWAIN interface that you can use to download the pictures that you
take with the camera. TWAIN is an industry standard interface for
scanners and digital cameras. The TWAIN Interface works in
combination with any TWAIN compliant image processing application,
such as MGI PhotoSuite. The image processing application is often
referred to as the host application.
Install TWAIN Driver
Please insert the attached TWAIN Driver Installation CD
into CD-ROM drive and execute the Setup.exe.You
will see the following dialog box:

You can push the START button to install the TWAIN driver. Or it
will begin the installation automatically after 10 seconds.
Transferring images to your computer
The following illustration provides an overview of the
TWAIN Interface to download photographs from your
camera to your computer. We use MGI PhotoSuite III
as our TWAIN compliant image processing application.
1.Execute the TWAIN compliant image processing
application : MGI PhotoSuite III.
2. Select TWAIN Source.

3. Choose DSC [USB Port]
Note : You need to select the Source just one time ( Step 2 and
step 3) after you install the TWAIN Driver.
4. Acquire : Push *Download* button.
4.1 Retrieving thumbnail(Connection Port Auto Detect.)

4.2 Thumbnail: After acquire, you will get the
thumbnails of your pictures.
5. If do NOT Connect to the DSC : Please check and
then push the * Preview * button to try again.

6. GET Pictures :Please select the picture you
want,and then click * get pictures *.
6.1 Open pictures
If you want to view the full-size picture before
saving it to disk, select the „Open Pictures“

6.2 After you pressed the „OK“ button, the full-size
picture will be retriered and the thumbnail window
will be closed.
6.3 Save to disk [Do not open]
If you want to save the pictures to disk directly, please
select the *Save to Disk [Do not open]*.
