Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox®for your automotive sound system. With proper
installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox®installed by your authorized JL Audio
dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience
to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. Please read this installation guide completely
before beginning the process.
If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that
the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these
instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure
caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision
or sudden deceleration.
S T E P 1
Place stealthbox in the trunk near its mounting location.
Take the supplied 3/8 - 16 x 1 1/2” Hex Head Bolt and
threaded into box leaving about 1/2” exposed.

S T E P 2
Place wax square in the designated position. Place the box in
the proper position and press lightly, this will leave an imprint
on the wax square for proper drilling. Remove the 3/8-16 x 1
1/2” Hex Head Bolt from the Stealthbox®.
S T E P 3
Using a 3/8” drill bit, drill through the panel and the metal
fender well.
*CAUTION*
Before drilling, always make sure that you are not
going to be drilling into any gas lines, brake lines,
transmission lines, electrical wiring, exhaust systems
or anything else that might cause a reduction in
your weekly pay. Always wear eye protection when
drilling.

CONGRATULATIONS!
You have completed the installation for this model!

Please refer to the Power Recommendation section for an
amplifier recommendation and basic set-up help.
S T E P 6
Place the box in its position and through the previously
drilled opening insert the supplied 3/8-16 x1 1/2” Hex Head
Bolt with the supplied Split Lock Washer closest to the head
of the 3/8-16 x 1 1/2” Bolt and then the 3/8 x 1 1/4” Fender
Washer closest to the fender well. Thread the 3/8-16 x 1 1/2”
Hex Head Bolt into the threaded insert in the Stealthbox®
(it may be helpful to have someone assist you in getting
everything aligned). Tighten the 3/8-16 x 1 1/2” Hex Head
Bolt.
S T E P 5
Connect the speaker wire to the box and run to the amp.
Test the stealthbox for proper operation at this time.

This is what it should look like from the wheel well after
drilling through the panel and the metal fender well.

detailed information about installing and tuning this amplifier.
