1 Product Introduction
Jntech JNS series inverter is solar energy storage inverter, which is used for
solar energy storage system.
When sunshine is sufficient, the inverter supply power which is generated by
solar system to home load priority; when full sun light, less home load, inverter store
redundant energy in battery ,when less sun or peak home load, battery release
power to home load to reduce the pressure of state grid; when the state grid in fault,
inverter will offer 230v AC power to important home load, to realize the backup
battery when off grid; in addition, the inverter has the function that auto connect state
grid when over power generated.
Jntech JNS series inverter can be used in- door or outdoor.

2 Security statement and warning
For electrical and electronic equipment, safety involves the whole process of
installation, trial operation, operation and maintenance. Therefore, incorrect use or
misoperation will harm the operator or the third party's life and personal safety and
inverter equipment. In order to reduce casualties, and decrease the damage of

inverters and other equipment , during operation and maintenance, we must strictly
observe all the following safety information hints, such as danger, warning and
attention.
Before using the product, please read all the labels and warning signs on this
machine and this manual. Please put this manual in an easy place to find.
This inverter is strictly tested and designed in accordance with local laws and
regulations.
During installation, operation and maintenance of inverters, local laws and
regulations should be in conformity with local regulations.
The wrong operation may cause personal injury or damage to the inverter

Before installation and maintenance of inverters, the connection of DC input and
AC grid must be disconnected, and the inverter shall not be touched for at least
5 minutes after the disconnection.
The local temperature may be higher when the inverter is running. Please don't
touch it so as not to be burned.
Installation site should be avoided as far as possible children and take
appropriate anti-static measures.
When configuring PV array, we must ensure that the open circuit voltage of each
PV string does not exceed the maximum input voltage of the inverter, otherwise it will
cause the inverter to be unrecoverable.
To ensure that the DC input voltage is less than the maximum input voltage of
the inverter, otherwise it will damage the inverter, which Jntech won’t bear the
responsibility and quality assurance.
PV array directly generated by the sun will produce DC high-voltage, need to
operate according to our provisions, to avoid partial protection measures failure.
In the case of unauthorized, do not remove the lid; do not touch or replace any
components except terminals outside, otherwise it will cause harm to the human
body and the inverter, which Jntech will not undertake the responsibility and
quality assurance department.
When the inverter works, do not plug in or out connector from PV, battery AC
terminal.
Please do not arbitrarily use inverter for other purposes.
In order to ensure safe operation, it is required correct grounding, using proper
conductor size and providing necessary short circuit protection.
3 Mechanical installation instructions
3.1 Packing list
Before installation, please check whether the machine is in good condition and
check all the accessories to confirm the quantity is consistent with the packing list.

3.2 Machine appearance
3.3 Installation site requirements:
Please install the machine on the firm surface, and can support the weight of the
inverter for a long time.
Good ventilation on the installation location, and can support the weight of the
inverter for a long time
Inverters need to be installed vertically to prohibit horizontal installation.
Wiring area should be down and no lateral tilt, vertical installation surface and
vertical inclination angle is not more than 15 degrees

Installation location
Installation position height have to be same with the line of sight, so that it will be
easy to observe and operate LCD panel.
Do not install the inverters on a place where the children can touch them.

Installation of inverter should be far away from strong electromagnetic
interference equipment, and away from flammable and explosive materials
Inverter is recommended to install indoors. When the inverter is installed outside, it
should be installed under the eaves or other shadowy areas to avoid direct sunlight,
direct rain and snow.
After installation, make sure all warning signs and product labels are visible
3.3-2 In order to facilitate the installation, disassembly and operation of heat
dissipation, it is recommended that the minimum clearance size around the
inverter as shown in figure 3.3-2

3.4 Installation
Because the inverter is heavy, the handling process should be careful, should
be carried out under the assistance of the installation
（1）After selecting the proper installation position, the inverter should be placed
on the installation surface (such as the wall), and the installation hole should
be marked as the installation position. Accordingly, 4 holes are marked on the
wall surface, the aperture is 10mm, the depth is 80mm, and the figure 3.4-1 is
the installation hole position;
（2）take out 4 expansion screws in the attachment bag and fix them on the hole
of the wall;
(3) hang the inverter on the wall according to the mounting hole, tighten the nut, as
shown in figure 3.4-2

4 Electrical connection instructions
All electrical installations must conform to the local electrical installation
standards
All operation and wiring work is required by the professional staff
Incorrect wiring operation may result in injuries and deaths of staff or or
permanent damage to the equipment.
Please ensure that both the AC and DC side are not charged before the
electrical connection is carried out.
In order to ensure safe operation, the correct grounding, the use of the proper
conductor and the necessary short circuit protection are required.
Do not close any circuit breakers until all the equipment is not fully connected.
4.1 System electrical connection diagram

Note: the diagram shows that all over current protection devices are not included.
The battery is a lead-acid battery or a lithium battery
4.2 Battery connection
Please connect 1 DC breakers with rated current of 125A or over 125A between the
battery and inverter. If not connected, the arc may occur when wiring.
Please pay special attention to the battery's +, - pole, the inverter would be
damaged if reverse connection.
Pay attention to chemical pollution and electric shock risk.
Because there is large current when system operating with battery, it is
recommended to use the cables as following specifications for safety purposes.
Suggest to connect the battery positive electrode with red cable, negative
electrode with black.
For battery installation and placement, refer to the battery manufacturer's
instructions.
The specific steps of battery connection are as follows:

（1）Confirm that the battery meets the inverter specifications ensure that the DC
circuit breaker is disconnected.
（2）Unscrew the battery nut, put the cable passes through the nut hole, a sealed
ring, an insulating ring, end out from the nut.
（3）Insert the wire into the battery terminal and press it with the tool.
（4）Remove the combined screw, flat and nut inside the fittings, connect the terminal
to the corresponding position in the inverter, and tighten it with the wrench.
（5）Lock the battery nut by pan head screw inside accessories package, and
then tighten the nut, as shown in figure 4.2-1

4.3 PV connection
Verify that the DC switch is in shutdown state before PV array connection.
Note that the polarity of the array must match the polarity of the connector,
otherwise it will damage the inverter.
Note that the maximum open circuit voltage of the array must be less than the
maximum input voltage of the inverter.
PV array’s plus & minus poles are forbidden to ground (PE), otherwise it will
cause damage to the inverter.
Be sure to use the MC4 adapter.
The specific steps of the PV connection are shown in figure 4.3-1 below

4.4 AC connection
For safe operation, AC circuit breaker shall be connected between inverter and
power grid, inverter output and load appliance. The recommended specification is
250V/30A. The inverter output is not directly connected to any electrical appliance or
power grid.
The BACK-UP terminal of multiple inverters can not be connected in parallel; the
BACK-UP end can not be connected to the power grid.
In order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system, it is
recommended to use the cable specifications as follows:
The specific steps of the AC connection are as follows:
（1）Confirm the disconnection of the AC circuit breaker between the inverter and
the power grid and load;

（2）Unscrew the nut of the AC cover, open the sealing ring and transfer the cable
through the nut hole, the sealing ring and the insulator successively, as
shown in figure 4.3-1;
（3）Insert the bare wire into the AC terminal and press it with the tool, such as
figure 4.3-2
（4）Connect the pressed terminals to the corresponding holes of the inverter, and
tighten with a screwdriver. Among them, BACK-UP connect with load breaker,
ON-GRID connected grid breaker, as shown in figure 4.3-3;
（5）Use pan head screw in the attached bag to lock AC protective cover, and then
tighten the nut on protective cover. The installation instructions are as shown in
figure 4.3-1.

4.5 Communication Interface
The inverter is equipped with 3 RS-485 interfaces, one is used for smart meter
communication, and the other two backup for subsequent upgrade function. At the
same time, the inverter is equipped with a USB interface for LCD program upgrade.

1. Meter communication connection
An electric energy meter is connected between the AC breaker and the inverter
(connection diagram shown in the next section), in which the communication
connection between the energy meter and the inverter is shown as below:

Attn：when the ammeter is connected correctly, the LCD screen will have
corresponding hints when it is in normal communication, as shown in section 5.2.
For ammeter communication settings, please refer to the instruction manual of
ammeter
2. USB connection
When the LCD program is upgraded, the USB data line (U disk) is inserted into
the USB port directly. If need more detail please turn to the LCD panel operation
instructions.
3. BMS communication connection
If the lithium ion battery unit is configured for the energy storage system, the
inverter needs to be with the battery management system (BMS). Communication.
The inverter terminal communication interface is shown in figure 4.4-1.
The communication connection between the inverter and the lithium battery BMS
is shown in figure 4.4-3 .

Attn: In the lower right corner of the display interface has a EMS communication
identification, when the display is normal, black background and white "B",
representing the meter communication connection abnormal, please check the
EMS communication terminal; when the display is black letter and white
background, it shows that the lithium battery and inverter communication is
normal.
5 Trial Run
5.1 Test before running
The following inspections should be done before the initial inverter is opened.
●Check whether the installation of the inverter is firm, and whether the installation
position is convenient for operation and maintenance.
●Check whether the positive or negative connection of the inverter's battery and the
photovoltaic input terminal is firm and correct.
●Check whether the AC terminal of the inverter is firm and correct with the
connection of the power grid and the important load, and whether the ground wire is
firmly connected
●Check whether the connection between the inverter and the attachment is correct
and firm.
●All cable distribution is reasonable and well protected, no mechanical damage.

5.2 Inverter test operation
1. Make sure the above inspection items to meet the requirements.
2. Closed AC circuit breaker
3.Turn the DC switch at the bottom of the inverter to "ON".
If the sunshine is sufficient and the grid conditions meet the requirements of grid
connection, the inverter will enter the running state and convert the PV’s DC to the
AC power,to feed into the power grid.
4 Shutting the DC switch between the battery and the inverter
5 Observe the state of the LED indicator on the inverter and the main interface of the
liquid crystal.

First test operation, if abnormal, inverters report fault, please refer to Appendix "fault
code" to check the fault.
6 LCD panel operation instructions
6.1 LCD introduction
The man-machine interface of the inverter adopts a LCD screen, which is used
for running status display, operation process monitoring and system control,
operation mode selection, etc.
The LCD display is intuitive and easy to operate, which is convenient for users to
view and control the operation status of the energy storage system in real time.

LCD screen is mainly divided into three parts, respectively, the main screen
display part, status indicator light and keyboard part, as shown in figure 5.1-1:

6.2 Operating instructions
1. The main interface displays the following contents:

Attn:There is a normal communication mark in the lower right corner of a display
meter, when displayed as black and white "kWh", representing the meter
communication connection is abnormal, please check the meter according to section
4.4 communication connection; when the display is black and white, as figure 5.2-1
shows, meter and inverter normal communication.
2. menu
In figure 6.2-1 shows the main interface, press the MENU key on the right
keyboard to enter the main menu interface. Among them, the main menu in the
"state", "production" and "events" to enter the menu, press "left" and "right" button to

view the sub menu content; each menu to switch between the press "confirm" button
and the "back" button; " Use the "up", "down" and "confirm" keys to select and enter
items within the menu.

3. Example of operation

The following example will show the specific practice of LCD operation, for other
settings can refer to this case.
For example: Set system time by menu,from "main menu", "setting", "general
setting" to"system time".

The password is defaulted,press “yes”to enter the setting up menu, press the "down" key to
move the cursor to the target position.
Press the "up" and "down" key to set the number, then move the cursor to "yes", and
press "confirm" and return to the main interface by pressing "return" key two times.
Note: the password dialog box appears when you enter the settings interface. The
factory password is the default value and can be entered directly after press "MENU"
twice. If you need to change the password, find the settings entrance according to
the menu, and change it according to the need.
6.3 LCD program upgrade

As described in section 4.4, the inverter provides an USB interface that is only
used to upgrade the LCD program.
To upgrade the probram, according to the liquid crystal process described in the
previous section, find the LCD program upgrade page, insert the storage device with
new program, move the cursor to the "LCD Upgrade" position directly click on the
LCD, it will automatically complete the upgrade. The program writing process lasted
for about 2 minutes.
7 Working mode specification
According to the different lighting and power supply, the inverter will work in
several different modes. Overall, the "uninterrupted peak load Valley" and the
"uninterrupted" power supply of the household important load are realized.
Mode 1: when the sunshine is
sufficient during the day, the PV
is given priority to the
important load, then the surplus
energy is stored into the
battery, and finally the energy
is supplied to the state grid.
Mode 2: when there is no PV
energy, the battery will priority
discharge to the load. When the
battery is short of energy, load
will get electricity from the
grid.
Mode3 : When the state grid is
in fault,PV and battery can
power to home load,to achieve
the “off-grid”function.
