Tips for preparing your
fruits and vegetables
There are so many benefits to cold pressed juice, but the main reason that cold pressed juice has
become so popular is because it is the best way to maximize the amount of nutrition that you get
from your juice. When heat is applied to the juicing process through friction found in most juicers,
it begins breaking down the living cells in the fruit or vegetable immediatly (why an avocado
browns).
Therefore, squeezing juice keeps the nutrients in the juice alive longer because it does not use the
same heat or friction. While pressing juice is so good for you, it does come with a few challenges.
We have prepared a quick table for you to better understand how to get the most out of what you
are juicing and protect your machine at the same time.
Always be sure to wash and dry your fresh fruits and vegetables before use.
Frozen fruits will not provide juice.
Why do certain fruits need to be cut or have their core removed?
JUlaVIE uses two large, forceful plates to come together and squeeze the juice out of your fruit. To
make room for these plates and keep the size reasonable for home use, some fruits or vegetables
need to be cut into more manageable sizes to fit inside of the opening of the machine. Removal of
pits from fruits is important, as the press squeezes the bag with 8 tons of force, the pit could
accidentally pierce your reusable juicing bag allowing juice to touch the machine and damage the
bag.
What are the juice extracting mitts for?
Leafy greens have thicker cell wells then other fruits
and vegetables, making it more difficult to release the
juice inside them. By simply rubbing the greens
in-between the juice extracting mitts until the greens
become nimble, it will break down these cell walls
and allow the nutrients to escape while being
pressed.
Why do bitter peels matter?
For some fruits, like oranges, you can cut them in half and easily put them in the machine - no
problem, however, the juice may end up bitter due to the more bitter flavoring of the peel that will
also release juice as it is squeezed.
Why do I have to limit quantities or shred root vegetables.
Root vegetables, such as carrots and beets are hardest to squeeze juice from. To obtain a full glass
of juice from these ingredients through cold-press, we advise you to shred them first before putting
in the juicer to obtain maximum yield.

juiced in large quantities it is
recommended to shred first.
