JRR200 Route Reector System Overview
The Juniper Networks JRR200 Route Reector is a 1U form factor appliance with a mulcore x86 CPU
and preinstalled vRR soware that can host one route reector instance. The JRR200 route reector is
suitable for large enterprises, data centers and service providers for hosng vRR soware to scale up to
30 million roung informaon base (RIB) entries.
The JRR200 route reector comes with eight 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports, 64 GB of DDR4
memory, and two 240-GB solid-state drives (SSDs) in a RAID1 conguraon. The JRR200 route reector
is available in both AC and DC models which support Zero Touch Provisioning mode (ZTP) to ensure
seamless inseron into the network and provide operaonal simplicity.
• JRR200 Route Reector (AC) — JRR200 Route Reector with dual redundant AC power supplies
• JRR200 Route Reector (DC) — JRR200 Route Reector with dual redundant DC power supplies
JRR200 Route Reector Field-Replaceable Units
Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are components that you can replace at your site. The FRUs on the
JRR200 route reector can be removed and replaced without powering o the route reector. The
JRR200 route reector supports the following FRUs:
• AC power supply units
• DC power supply units
• Fan trays

2 Power switch Use the Power switch to power on or power o the JRR200 route reector.
3 Alarm O buon Use this buon to turn o an alarm triggered because of an abnormal DC output
voltage caused by any of the following:
•Only one power supply unit is plugged in.
•The AC power cord is not plugged in.
•The power supply unit is not funconal and there is no DC output.
4 ESD point For personal safety, while working on the JRR200 route reector, use the ESD
outlet to plug in an ESD grounding strap to prevent your body from sending stac
charges to the route reector.

5 Fan trays Four fan trays for cooling the JRR200 route reector and its components. Each fan
tray contains two fans.
Three fan trays are required for proper air ow across the chassis internal
components. The fourth fan tray provides redundancy.
6 Power supply Two power supply slots. Each power supply contains a power cord outlet. Two
650-W DC or AC power supplies are provided with the JRR200 route reector.

The JRR200 Route Reector chassis is a rigid sheet metal structure that houses all the components.

JRR200 Route Reector Air Flow and Cooling System
The cooling system for the JRR200 Route Reector consists of four fan trays located at the rear of the
chassis. Each fan tray contains two fans, so there are a total of eight fans. The fans draw cool air through
vents on the front of the chassis and exhaust the air through the back of the chassis. See Figure 5 on
page 10. The airow produced by the fans keeps device components within the acceptable
temperature range.
If any one of the four fan trays fails, the JRR200 route reector generates a warning but keeps the
system running. If the temperature keeps rising, the JRR200 route reector lowers the power
consumpon by reducing the performance or shung down some of the chassis components. However,
if the ambient maximum temperature exceeds the warning level and the system cannot be adequately
cooled, then the JRR200 route reector shuts down the system and hardware components completely.

JRR200 Route Reector AC Power Supply
The JRR200 Route Reector is shipped with two redundant AC power supply units pre-installed in the
rear panel of the chassis. The AC power supply unit is a eld-replaceable unit (FRU) and you can install it
without powering o the JRR200 route reector or disrupng the route reector funcon. If one power
supply unit fails or is removed, the other power supply unit redistributes the electrical load without
interrupon. Each power supply unit is cooled by its own internal cooling system.
Each AC power supply unit weighs approximately 2.3 lb and consists of one AC appliance inlet, a fan,
and LEDs for monitoring the status of the power supply unit. It gives an output of 650 W and supports
both low line voltage (100–127 VAC) and high line voltage (200–240 VAC). Figure 6 on page 11 shows
the AC power supply unit.

Each AC power supply unit faceplate contains three LEDs that indicate the status of the power supply.

• If both the AC LED and the DC LED are unlit, either the AC power cord is not installed
properly or the power supply unit fuse has failed.
• If the AC LED is lit and the DC LED is unlit, the AC power supply unit is installed properly, but
the power supply unit has an internal failure.
