Using Your TV or Your Soundbar as Your Media Hub
You can connect all of your peripheral devices (e.g. DVD player / Games console / Set-top
box) to either your TV or your soundbar. It’s really up to you and depends on how many
spare sockets of your TV or soundbar has and how tidy you want your set-up to look.
Connecting Devices Through Your TV
Connect all peripheral devices directly to the TV though HDMI, Optical or RCA (red and
white) sockets (for more details, please refer to your TV user manual). Then, you can pull
audio from the TV via its HDMI, Optical or RCA output socket.
The benet of using your TV as a hub is you will not have to switch the inputs on your
soundbar. You will hear what you’re viewing.
Connecting Devices Through Your Soundbar
Connect all peripheral devices directly to the soundbar though HDMI 1, HDMI 2, AUX 1, AUX
2or OPTICAL sockets. Then use an HDMI, Optical or RCA cable to connect with your TV.
• If your TV supports HDMI ARC, just use one HDMI cable to connect the soundbar and
TV. This is the neatest option as it only uses one cable.
• If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC socket, connect an HDMI lead to any HDMI
socket. You’ll ALSO need to connect an optical cable or RCA cable between your TV and
Soundbar.
If you don’t connect your TV as described above, you will not hear sound through your soundbar when
watching normal TV (BBC1, BBC2, ITV...).
Connecting an MP3 Player
Use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo audio cable (included) to connect the soundbar’s AUX 1 or
AUX 2 socket to the headphone socket of the external devices.
Touch on the unit or press on the remote control and then press SOURCE repeatedly to
select AUX1 or AUX2.

For more details on connection between the soundbar and TV, please refer to the section
“Connecting to the TV”.
The benet of using your soundbar as a hub is you will potentially have less cables going to

neater.
