FOR YOUR SAFETY Before initial start-up of the machine, please read
– this operator’s manual
– the attached brochure “Safety Instructions”

Explosion hazard during refuelling!
nNever refuel
– in closed rooms
– with the engine running
– while the engine is still hot.
nDuring refuelling, do not smoke.
nFuel expands as it warms up in the tank.
Never fill the tank until fuel spills over, but to a maximum
level of 1 cm under the bottom edge of the filler neck.
nWipe off spilled fuel immediately and tightly close the tank
cap.
!
Fire hazard during operation!
nDuring operation of the unit, do not store flammable
materials in the vicinity of the engine or exhaust.
!
Rollover hazard on excessive inclines!
nRestrict machine movements to slopes having less than
15% incline.
!
Exercise caution during maintenance and repair
procedures!
To prevent unintentional starting of the unit, park the machine
and proceed as follows:
nRemove the spark plug connector.
nPlace the spark plug connector aside to a manner to
prevent a spark from jumping to the spark plug.
PROTECTING THE
ENVIRONMENT
!
Caution, environmental hazard caused by engine oil!
The waste oil that results from an oil change should be handed
in at an appropriate collection point or properly equipped
disposal unit.
All plastic parts carry an identification marking that enables
them to be suitably recycled according to their particular type.
When unpacking the cleaner, do not dispose of the packaging
materials as part of your domestic rubbish.
Take all packaging materials to a suitable collection point for
recycling.
INTENDED USAGE This sweeper
– is intended to be used for sweeping outdoor surfaces
– corresponds to Usage Category “U” for dust that is not
injurious to health.

PRIOR TO INITIAL START-
UP
Note: If you discover any transport damage while unpacking the
unit, inform your dealer immediately.
Removing the packaging
The machine has been secured to a pallet to keep it safe
during transport. Unpack the unit as follows:
nCut plastic band.
nRemove chocks from under wheels, and drive unit down a
ramp and off pallet, or
nlift unit by hand over chocks and off pallet.
Attaching the outrigger broom
In order to avoid any damage while the unit is in transit, it is
supplied without the outrigger broom attached. Assembly is
straightforward:
nPush outrigger broom onto drive pin.
nAttach hexagonal nut (SW 13), and tighten.
Mount push handle
nStraighten up fold-down push handle and screw it into
position with the star knobs on left and right.
Filling the fuel tank
nFill up with “Standard petrol, unleaded”.
Capacity – see “Technical specifications”.
Initial driving trials
Carry out initial driving trials in an area with plenty of free
space until you are familiar with the individual operating
controls and their functions.

BEFORE USING THE UNIT nCheck oil level in engine (see Chapter: Maintenance).
nCheck fuel level in tank.
nClean filter with shaker mechanism.
nEmpty debris container.
nPull out choke on instrument panel.
nStart motor with pull-start rope
nTo turn motor off, press motor stop button
Note: If when opening the cover the motor does not stop
automatically, press the motor stop button on the instrument panel
and call Customer Service.
over dry surfaces
nRelease parking brake!
nLower outrigger broom. (A)
nPull lever for driving forward. (B)
nIf lever is released, unit is halted.
To sweep up larger objects (drink cans), push down on the
handle so that the front of the unit is raised.
over wet surfaces
nSweeping procedure is same as for dry surfaces, but in
addition, container locking mechanism should be released.
Container is opened by approx. 8 cm.

Before you commence any cleaning or care tasks,
nswitch unit OFF.
Cleaning the unit interior
The interior can be blown clean with compressed air.
Cleaning the unit exterior
The exterior of the unit can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, otherwise damage
could occur to the plastic components.
Cleaning and care
If the unit is not to be used for a longer period of time, e.g.
during the winter, please observe the following:
nOutrigger broom must be raised in order to avoid damage to
the bristles.
nClean interior and exterior of unit.
nDrain fuel tank.
nChange engine oil (see Chapter: “Maintenance”).
nRemove spark plug.
nPour approx 3 cm3of oil into the sparking-plug hole and
crank the engine several times without the sparking plug
being in place.
nScrew in sparking plug.
nPark sweeper in a sheltered location, and ensure that it can
not roll away.
Decommissioning the unit
Transport Ensure that the unit is properly secured before transporting it
to another location.
nLock parking brake in position.
nUnit should be secured solely in the manner shown
– with belts
or
– with ropes.

MAINTENANCE
First engine oil change
!
Caution!
Abrasion causes an increased amount of deposits within a
new engine. In order to avoid any damage to the engine, we
recommend that you change the engine oil for the first time
after 5 operating hours (See chapter “Technical Data”).

Checking the engine oil
level
Cleaning the air cleaner
nPark sweeper on a horizontal surface.
nTake out dipstick and check it.
The oil level must lie between the “min” and “max” marks.
If the oil level lies below “min” - top up with oil.
If the oil level lies above “max” - siphon off oil (through the
dipstick opening).
nScrew dipstick into place.

Suction pump for use
when changing the oil Order no. 6.491-538
nOpen cover on engine.
nRemove cleaner insert.
nClean plastic insert,
– wash plastic insert in a soapy solution (e.g. water with a
little washing-up liquid), and rinse in clean water
– allow insert to dry, and then spray lightly with engine oil
– squeeze out any excess oil.
nRefit cleaner components, and fasten cover.
See Chapter: “Prior to initial start-up”.
Replacing the outrigger
broom
Replacing the sweeping
roller nStop unit, and switch engine OFF.
nRemove debris container.
nRemove right and left securing bolts, and detach sweeping
roller.
nFit new sweeping roller in reverse order of action.
Ensure that roller is fitted facing in correct direction (see
illustration).
