IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

For your personal safety, this appliance must e grounded. This
appliance is equipped with a power supply cord having a 3-prong
grounding plug. To minimize possi le shock hazard, the cord must e
plugged into a mating 3-prong, grounding type, wall receptacle,
grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code
ANSI/NFPA 70 latest edition and all local codes and ordinances. If a
mating wall receptacle is not availa le, it is the personal
responsi ility and o ligation of the customer to have a properly
grounded, 3-prong, wall receptacle installed y a qualified
electrician.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting
from ecoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may e used if care is exercised in their use.
• The extension cord should e a grounding type 3-wire cord.
• The electrical rating of the extension cord should e at least
that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cord is too low, it could overheat and urn.
• The resulting extended cord should e arranged so that it will
not drape over the counter top or ta letop where it can e
pulled on y children or tripped over.



BEFORE THE FIRST USE
• Place on a flat, level, and heat-resistant surface.
• Make sure the temperature dials (4) are set in “MIN” position, and
that the power dial (1) is set to “OFF”, efore plugging in.
• Turn on the power dial (1) at the ack of the unit.
• The invisi le protective coating must e removed efore you can
use the appliance. To do this, set the controls to the maximum
setting and heat at the “MAX” level for approximately 10 minutes.
Smoke may develop, so make sure that the room is ventilated.
• Set the temperature dials to “MIN”, switch off the cooking plate
with the power dial and allow cooling down completely. The
cooking plates are now ready for use.
• Keep the surface of the heating elements (2) clean and dry.
USE
• Select a suita le position close to an electric socket, on a dry,
flat, level, and heat-resistant surface.
• Make sure oth temperature dials (4) are in the “MIN” position,
and the power dial (1) is in the “OFF” position, efore plugging in
the power outlet.
• Turn on the power dial (1) at the ack of the unit.

• For maximum heat efficiency, always use flat- ottomed
cookware, which makes full contact with the cooking plates.
Ideally, the pan’s ase should e of the same size as the cooking
plate that it is placed on.
IMPORTANT! Do not place food directly on the heating plates!
• Adjust the temperature to the desired level, for each zone. Each
cooking plate has a full range of temperature, etween “MIN”
(Low heat) and “MAX” (High heat). The indicator light (3) will
illuminate at first, then link on and off as the temperature is
reached and regulated y the thermostat.
CAUTION! The metal surfaces will ecome hot! Do not touch while in
use.
• After use, turn temperature dial ack to "MIN", turn the power dial
ack to “OFF”, and unplug the appliance from the electrical
outlet. Allow the unit to cool efore moving or cleaning.
• Due to the cooking plate construction, residual heat will remain
after switching off. This may e used to keep food warm for a
short period. Be careful not to touch the heating elements until
they have completely cooled down!
HINTS AND TIPS
• Do not use with unsta le pans or pans that do not have a flat
ottom.
• Never switch the unit on without a pan eing placed on the
heating elements, as it may damage the appliance.
CLEANING AND CARE
• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool
down completely.
• Wipe with a damp cloth. Dry after cleaning.
• Do not clean with a rasive scouring pads or steel wool as this will
damage the finish. Also, pieces can reak off the pad and short
electrical parts, creating the possi ility of electric shock.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.



WARRANTY
We suggest that you complete and return the enclosed Product
Registration Card promptly to facilitate verification of the date of
original purchase. However, return of the Product Registration Card is
not a condition of these warranties. You can also fill out this warranty
card online, at the following address: www.KALORIK.com
This KALORIK product is warranted in the U.S.A. for 1 year from the
date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. This
warranty is not transfera le. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of
purchase is required to o tain warranty performance.
During this period, if the KALORIK product, upon inspection y
KALORIK, is proven defective, it will e repaired or replaced, at
Kalorik’s option, without charge to the customer. If a replacement
product is sent, it will carry the remaining warranty of the original
product.
This warranty does not apply to any defect arising from a uyer's or
user's misuse of the product, negligence, failure to follow KALORIK
instructions noted in the user’s manual, use on current or voltage
other than that stamped on the product, wear and tear, alteration
or repair not authorized y KALORIK, or use for commercial purposes.
There is no warranty for glass parts, glass containers, filter asket,
lades and agitators, and accessories in general. There is also no
warranty for parts lost y the user.
ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS WITH RESPECT TO
THIS PRODUCT IS ALSO LIMITED TO THE ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
PERIOD.
Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty
lasts or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential
damages, so the a ove limitations may not apply to you. This
warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other

If the appliance should ecome defective within the warranty
period and more than 30 days after date of purchase, do not return
the appliance to the store: often, our Customer Service
Representatives can help solve the pro lem without having the
product serviced. If servicing is needed, a Representative can

CONSEJOS DE SEGURIDAD

USO
• Coloque el aparato en una superficie plana, seca, y resistente al
calor, cerca de una toma de corriente.
• Comprue e que el termostato (4) se encuentra en la posición
mínima (MIN) y que el otón de encendido (1) esté en la
posición “OFF”. Conecte el aparato a la toma de corriente.
• Encienda el otón de encendido (1) en la parte posterior de la
unidad.
• Utilice sólo cacerolas o sartenes con do le fondo, conce idas
para placas eléctricas. Su diámetro no de e ser inferior al de las
placas para evitar un desperdicio inútil de calor.
¡ IMPORTANTE! No coloque la comida directamente so re las placas
de calentamiento.
• Para calentar las placas, gire el otón de termóstato hacia la
derecha hasta llevarlo a la posición deseada. Cada placa tiene
una amplia gama de temperaturas, entre “MIN” (poca
potencia) y “MAX” (potencia alta). La luz indicadora (3) se
iluminará al principio y luego se enciende y se apaga, como la
temperatura primero se alcanza y después es regulada por el
termostato
¡ PRECAUCION! Las superficies metálicas se calientan. ¡No las toque
mientras están en uso!
• Después de la utilización, coloque el otón del termóstato en la
posición "MIN", gire el otón de encendido de nuevo a “OFF”, y
desenchufe el aparato.
• Las placas siguen calentando una vez apagadas. Esto le permite

LIMPIEZA
• Tras el empleo y antes de su limpieza, desenchufe el aparato y
déjelo enfriar.
• Limpie el aparato con papel de cocina a sor ente o con un
paño suave.

CONSIGNES DE SECURITÉ

15. Ne placez pas l'appareil sur ou près d'un rûleur à gaz ou
électrique ou dans un four chaud.

Cet appareil est équipé d’une fiche et d’un cordon permettant la
mise à la terre. Dans le cas d’un court-circuit, la mise à la terre réduit
les risques de chocs électriques en fournissant une porte de sortie au
courant électrique. Cette fiche ne peut être introduite que d’une
seule façon dans la prise murale, qui doit être installée selon les
codes électriques en vigueur et mise à la terre. Si cette fiche ne
rentre pas correctement dans la prise, contactez un électricien
qualifié et reconnu. N’essayez jamais de modifier vous-même la
prise de terre ou la fiche de l’appareil.
CONSIGNES CONCERNANT LE CORDON
Le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil est un cordon de type court,
et ce afin de diminuer les risques d’accidents (chute si vous marchez
sur le cordon...). Vous pouvez toutefois utiliser une rallonge si

• Assurez-vous que l'ampérage de la rallonge est égal ou
supérieur à celui de l'appareil. Une rallonge avec un
ampérage inférieur à celui de l'appareil risquerait de
surchauffer et de rûler.
• La rallonge ne doit pas pendre du plan de travail ou de la
ta le afin d'éviter que les enfants ne le tirent ou tré uchent.
• Comme l’appareil est équipé d’une mise à la terre, la
rallonge utilisée devra être du même type.

AVANT LA PREMIERE UTILISATION
• Posez l'appareil sur une surface plane, sèche et résistante à la
chaleur, près d'une prise de courant.
• Assurez-vous que le commutateur de mise sous tension (1) soit en
position éteinte, et que les cadrans de réglage de la
température (4) trouver en position « MIN ». Branchez l'appareil
sur une prise de courant.
• Mettez l’appareil sous tension avec le commutateur à l’arrière de
l’appareil (1).
• Faites chauffer les deux plaques de l’appareil pendant 10
minutes en position « MAX », afin de fixer le vernis de protection

• Gardez toujours les éléments chauffants propres et au sec.
UTILISATION
• Posez l'appareil sur une surface plane, sèche et résistante à la
chaleur, près d'une prise de courant.
• Assurez-vous que le commutateur de mise sous tension (1) soit en
position éteinte, et que les cadrans de réglage de la
température (4) trouver en position « MIN ». Branchez l'appareil
sur une prise de courant.
• Mettez l’appareil sous tension avec le commutateur à l’arrière de
l’appareil (1).
• Utilisez uniquement des casseroles ou poêles avec un fond plat,
conçues pour les plaques électriques. Idéalement, leur diamètre
devra être similaire à celui des plaques chauffantes, pour une
efficacité de chauffe optimale.
IMPORTANT ! Ne placez jamais d’aliments directement sur les
plaques chauffantes !
• Ajustez la température souhaitée pour chaque plaque de
cuisson, en utilisant les cadrans de réglage (4). Chaque plaque
dispose d’une gamme de températures étendue, entre « MIN »
(température asse) et « MAX » (température la plus haute). Le
témoin lumineux (3) s’allume, puis va s’allumer et s’éteindre
alternativement, une fois la température atteinte et régulée par
le thermostat propre à chaque plaque de cuisson.
ATTENTION ! Les surfaces métalliques deviennent rulantes ! Ne
touchez pas la plaque de cuisson pendant l’utilisation !
• Après utilisation, placez les cadrans de réglage de la
température sur « MIN », et éteignez l’appareil avec le cadran de
mise sous tension à l’arrière de l’appareil. Dé ranchez de la prise
murale. Attendez le refroidissement complet pour nettoyer ou
déplacer l’appareil.
• Les plaques restent chaudes même une fois éteintes. Vous
pouvez profiter de cette chaleur résiduelle pour garder les


