Jamboree Awning Instructions
IMPORTANT
Before setting up this awning please check that this awn-
ing fits your caravan. Awnings that have been unpacked
or set up cannot be exchanged.
Some of the pictures in these instructions show other Kampa products
and are for reference only

WELCOME
Thank you for purchasing your Kampa awning. Please read these instructions care-
fully before attempting to set up your awning and retain for future reference. If used
properly, your awning should give you years of trouble free use. We recommend that
your awning is insured against accidental and storm damage as this is not covered by
the warranty.
Awnings contain a high proportion of synthetic materials and under certain conditions
will be affected by condensation inside the awning. This should not be confused with
leaking and condensation can be improved by ensuring adequate ventilation.
The main seams of this awning have been sewn with a special thread to help prevent
leakage. To maximise the effectiveness of this thread it will be necessary to weather
the awning. This involves setting it up and allowing it to become wet and then dry. It
may take several soakings to reach its maximum weatherproofing.
This awning is designed for use in light to moderate weather. During strong winds or
snowfall we recommend that you take your awning down. The awning is designed for
touring use; it is not designed for static or commercial use.
We recommend a trial run before using your awning for the first time. This will allow
you to familiarise yourself with the awning, its set up and any limitations the awning
may have for your particular use. Please also check your caravan awning rail to en-
sure that it is not damaged or has any sharp edges that could damage your awning.

SITING
Choose a site that is flat and, if possible, protected
from the wind. Try to set up your awning with the
doors facing away from the wind.
SET UP
To protect your awning from dirt and damage, it may
be beneficial to lay a groundsheet or awning carpet
down before unpacking.
Unpack the awning, separate and identify the differ-
ent parts (a frame diagram is included with these
instructions). At this stage you may wish to zip out
the four wall panels. This will make it easier to han-
dle the awning roof.
Slide the awning beading, on the rear of the awning
roof, through the caravan awning channel until it is
in your required position (A). Attach the bracket
pads to the beading on the inside of the roof (B).
There are three brackets. One should be positioned
in the middle of the awning and one in each of the
rear corners. Undo the turn-screw to loosen the
clamp, attach and then retighten. Do not worry too
much about positioning as these can be adjusted
when the awning is set up. Identify the different
parts of the awning frame and roughly lay them out
under the awning canvas in their approximate posi-
tions. Go inside the awning and taking bracket (1)
pass this through the hole in the centre apex of the
awning. The arm with the plastic adjusting clamp
should pass through to the outside. Attach leg (5) to
the centre bracket but do not extend the leg above
head height. Locate the hook on the end of the roof
rafter (4) into the centre bracket pad (C) and extend
it so that some pressure is exerted on the front
bracket (D). Take one of the apex to eave poles
(10) and attach to one side of the centre bracket (E).

Attach the corner bracket (2 or 3) onto the end of
this pole and locate through the opening (F) in the
top corner of the awning (adjusting clamp out
again). Attach a leg (6) into the bracket (G) and
then take a roof rafter (4) attach it to the corner
bracket pad (H) and then attach the end of the pole
onto the corner bracket. Repeat the other side.
Before raising the legs to their full height go outside
and attach the stub canopy poles (8) to the brackets
and then insert the front canopy poles (11/12)
through the sleeves (I) in the front of the canopy
and attach to the hooks on the stub canopy poles
(J).
Using the clamp attach the rear legs (7) to the two
outside roof rafters (K). Adjust the length and ten-
sion. These should be positioned against the rear
bumper pad and the pads against the caravan.
Replace all panels and close all doorways and en-
trances.

Stretch the roof rafters (4) and apex to eave poles
(10) - apply as much pressure as possible without
causing any damage. Raise the legs to their ap-
proximate correct height—check that the pegging
points still comfortably reach the ground (L).
PEGGING
Start pegging at the rear of the awning closest to
the caravan. Take the rear corners and peg them
as close to and preferably slightly under the cara-
van, this will give a close fit. Next peg the front cor-
ners making sure that you pull the pegging point
and the corner frame leg in a diagonal direction
away from the caravan - this will give good tension
to the front and sides. Adjust the legs as neces-
sary. Peg the intermediate pegging points, pegging
the points either side of doorways first. These
doorways should be cross pegged - the points
should be pulled across each other. Once com-
pleted the awning should look taut without too
many creases - if necessary readjust the pegging
and adjust the height of the legs and tension the
roof poles.
STORM TIE DOWNS
If you are expecting to use your awning in windy
weather we recommend the sue of the optional tie
down kit. The Jamboree comes complete with fix-
ings - just clip each tie down into the buckle (M)
and firmly peg the other end (N). We do not recom-
mend the use of tie down kits that go over the awn-
ing roof as these can damage the frame and can-
vas.
PEGS
The Jamboree awning comes complete with gen-
eral purpose plastic pegs. These will be suitable
for many sites but there will be some instances
where different pegs will be necessary. Your
dealer will stock a range of pegs suitable for differ-
ent types of ground. For maximum effectiveness,
pegs should be driven into the ground at a 45°angle
away from the pegging point. CAUTION: Pegs can
be sharp. Do not allow children to play around the
awning and ensure that suitable protective footwear
is worn.

DRAUGHT SKIRT
The supplied draught skirt should be pulled through
the awning rail at the bottom of your caravan (O).
CURTAINS
The curtains should be attached to the curtain track
above each window. Curtains should be removed
when setting down and packed separately away
from the awning canvas to prevent colour transfer if
slightly damp.
MUD SKIRT
The Jamboree comes with an internal mud skirt to
keep out draughts. The mud skirt has eyelets that
can be used with pegs to secure it to the ground.
DO NOT use the mud skirt to peg your awning
down.
ZIP OUT PANELS
Both side panels and the front panels can be
zipped out to provide ventilation or to act as a sun
canopy. The side panels also have ventilation pan-
els—the outer flap can be rolled up to increase ven-
tilation (P/Q). The side panels can also be used in
a veranda style arrangement, perhaps to keep chil-
dren or pets safe whilst allowing plenty of ventila-
tion.

ANNEXE (OPTIONAL AT EXTRA COST)
The Jamboree can be fitted with an optional an-
nexe and an optional two berth inner tent is avail-
able to fit the annexe. The annexe can be fitted on
either side of the awning or the awning could have
two annexes fitted.
To fit, remove the relevant side panel. Replace the
panel by zipping in the annexe - take care to en-
sure it is not inside out. Assemble the frame as
shown in the frame diagram supplied with the an-
nexe. The centre pole of the annexe clamps to the
awning’s roof rafter and the Velcro sleeve also at-
taches to the roof rafter to spread the load. Peg the
annexe squarely and guy out using the guy lines
supplied. Suspend the inner in the annexe and peg
squarely. It is possible to zip the awning side panel
back in to the awning to close off the annexe.
SEAMS
The main seams of this awning have been sewn
with a special thread to help prevent leakage. To

This involves setting it up and allowing it to become wet and the dry. It may take sev-
eral soakings to reach its maximum weatherproofing.

UV DEGRADATION
Awning fabrics can be weakened by prolonged exposure to sunlight. Under normal
holiday use your awning will give long service but use for extended periods in strong
sunlight will soon cause deterioration. In those cases it would be wise to use a site as
shaded as possible. UV degradation is not covered under the warranty. The warranty
does not cover awnings used on permanent sites, displays or for commercial pur-
poses.
CONDENSATION
Awnings contain a high proportion of synthetic materials and under certain conditions
will be affected by condensation inside the awning. This should not be confused with
leaking and condensation can be improved by ensuring adequate ventilation. Conden-
sation and its effects are not covered under the warranty.
SAFETY
DO NOT COOK IN THE AWNING OR USE NAKED FLAMES. READ AND UNDER-
STAND THE FIRE PRECAUTIONS LABEL SEWN INTO THE INSIDE OF THE AWN-
ING.

DISMANTLING
Reverse the set up procedure. Ensure that all parts are clean before packing in the
carry bag. If the awning is wet or damp, dry fully as soon as possible. Curtains should
be packed separately to the awning.
CARE
Awnings are best stored opened out. Air fully and ensure it is totally dry before pack-
ing away. Store in a well ventilated dry place. A wet/damp awning will develop mildew
surprisingly quickly.
Dirty awnings can be washed using clean water and a soft brush. Do not scrub and
never use detergents.
To prevent corrosion steel and aluminium poles can be stored with a light coating of
petroleum jelly to protect them. Ensure that this is completely removed before use.
Damage due to improper use, wind damage or neglect is not covered under the war-
ranty. Have any damage repaired at the first opportunity.
Failure in the poles normally occurs through incorrect use. Make sure that poles sec-
tions are fully inserted into their adjoining pole. You can purchase replacement poles
from your dealer.
Zips should be treated with care, use two hands to close and open and never tread on
them. Never force a zip.
We strongly recommend that you carry a comprehensive spares kit including silicone
waterproof spray, seam sealer, repair tape, and spare guy ropes and pegs for extreme
weather.
Repairs to the flysheet should be made by a company recommended by Kampa or
your supplying dealer. Repairs and alterations made by an unauthorised company
may invalidate your warranty.

the awning. A two berth tent that has a sewn in groundsheet is
available as an optional extra.
