Failure in the poles normally occurs through incorrect use. Make sure that poles sec-
tions are fully inserted into their adjoining pole and do not over stress the pole beyond
its designed curve. You can purchase replacement poles from your dealer.
Zips should be treated with care, use two hands to close and open and never tread on
them. Never force a zip.
We strongly recommend that you carry a comprehensive spares kit including silicone
waterproof spray, seam sealer, tape for repairing split poles, and spare guy ropes and
pegs for extreme weather.
Repairs to the flysheet should be made by a company recommended by Kampa or
your supplying dealer. Repairs and alterations made by an unauthorised company
may invalidate your warranty.
UPRIGHT POLES
Two upright poles are supplied with this awning. They can be used to hold up the rear
tunnel or as canopy poles to hold the front door open as a canopy. Use guy lines to
support the poles.

WELCOME
Thank you for purchasing your Kampa awning. Please read these instructions care-
fully before attempting to set up your awning and retain for future reference. If used
properly, your awning should give you years of trouble free use. We recommend that
your awning is insured against accidental and storm damage as this is not covered by
the warranty.
Awnings contain a high proportion of synthetic materials and under certain conditions
will be affected by condensation inside the awning. This should not be confused with
leaking and condensation can be improved by ensuring adequate ventilation.
IMPORTANT: The main seams of this awning have been factory taped to help prevent
leakage. Depending upon your expectations, it may be necessary to treat the remain-
ing seams with a seam sealant. Seam sealant should also be applied to areas where
the taping is damaged or has peeled away through wear and tear. It can also be ap-
plied to areas where a leak may have developed. Seam sealant is available through
your dealer. We recommend McNett Seamsure.
This awning is designed for use in light to moderate weather. During strong winds or
snowfall we recommend that you take your awning down. The awning is designed for
touring use; it is not designed for static or commercial use.
We recommend a trial run before using your awning for the first time. This will allow
you to familiarise yourself with the awning, its set up and any limitations the awning
may have for your particular use.
Before using for the first time please check the contents of your awning

SEAMS
The main seams of this awning have been factory taped to help prevent leakage. De-
pending upon your expectations, it may be necessary to treat the remaining seams
with a seam sealant. Seam sealant should also be applied to areas where the taping
is damaged or has peeled away through wear and tear. It can also be applied to areas
where a leak may have developed. Seam sealant is available through your dealer.
We recommend McNett Seamsure.
SUITABILITY
This awning is designed for use in light to moderate weather. During strong winds or
snowfall we recommend that you take your awning down. The awning is designed for
occasional use; it is not designed for static or commercial use.
UV DEGRADATION
Awning fabrics can be weakened by prolonged exposure to sunlight. Under normal
holiday use your awning will give long service but use for extended periods in strong
sunlight will soon cause deterioration. In those cases it would be wise to use a site as
shaded as possible. UV degradation is not covered under the warranty. The warranty
does not cover awnings used on permanent sites, displays or for commercial pur-
poses.
CONDENSATION
Awnings contain a high proportion of synthetic materials and under certain conditions
will be affected by condensation inside the awning. This should not be confused with
leaking and condensation can be improved by ensuring adequate ventilation. Conden-
sation and its effects are not covered under the warranty.
SAFETY
DO NOT COOK IN THE AWNING OR USE NAKED FLAMES. READ AND UNDER-
STAND THE FIRE PRECAUTIONS LABEL SEWN INTO THE INSIDE OF THE AWN-
ING.
DISMANTLING
Reverse the set up procedure. Ensure that all parts are clean before packing in the
carry bag. If the awning is wet or damp, dry fully as soon as possible.
CARE
Awnings are best stored opened out. Air fully and ensure it is totally dry before pack-
ing away. Store in a well ventilated dry place. A wet/damp awning will develop mildew
surprisingly quickly.
Dirty awnings can be washed using clean water and a soft brush. Do not scrub and
never use detergents.
Poles should be protected from damage and should be stored completely dry to pre-
vent corrosion of the ferrules. To prevent corrosion steel poles can be stored with a
light coating of petroleum jelly to protect them. Ensure that this is completely removed
before use. Damage due to improper use, wind damage or neglect is not covered un-
der the warranty. Have any damage repaired at the first opportunity.

PEGS
The Camper Pod awning comes complete with general purpose wire pegs. These will
be suitable for many sites but there will be some instances where different pegs will be
necessary. Your dealer will stock a range of pegs suitable for different types of
ground. For maximum effectiveness, pegs should be driven into the ground at a 45°
angle away from the pegging point. CAUTION: Pegs can be sharp. Do not allow chil-
dren to play around the awning and ensure that suitable protective footwear is worn.
GUY LINES
The Camper Pod comes with guy lines pre-attached. We recommend that these guy
lines are used at all times. Peg the guy lines so that the awning is under tension with-
out distorting the shape, they should run in line with the seams. The guy lines can be
adjusted using the runners. Guy lines should be secured using suitable pegs - see
above. DO NOT allow children to play around your awning. Guy lines are a trip haz-
ard.
ATTACHMENT TO VEHICLE
The Camper Pod has a tunnel at the rear that can be attached to a vehicle—like the
side door of a camper van (VW style).
Pole & Clamp Fixing
The Camper Pod comes complete with a pole and clamp set. The pole is threaded
through the sleeve in the top of the tunnel. This is then dropped into the gutter on the
side of the camper and secured using the clamps provided.
Keder Beading
The tunnel also has Keder beading sewn to its top edge. The beading can be
threaded into ‘figure of 8’extrusion (not supplied) and the figure of 8 clipped to the gut-
ter on the side of the camper. Figure of 8 extrusion is available from your supplying
dealer.
Guy Line/Rope
If you camper does not have a gutter it is possible to pull the tunnel to the vehicle by
attaching guy lines/ropes (not supplied) to the top corners of the tunnel, throwing these
over the vehicle and tying them to the wheels or pegging them down. Take care that
the guy lines/ ropes do not damage the vehicle.
The Camper Pod is a universal fit awning designed to fit camper vans up to 1.90 me-
tres high (maximum vehicle or rail height). The fit is universal and is not tailored to any
one vehicle. Therefore, you should be aware that this awning will fit some vehicles
better than others and Kampa do not guarantee a perfect fit.

SITING
Choose a site that is flat and, if possible, protected
from the wind. Try to set up your awning with the
doors facing away from the wind.
SET UP
To protect your awning from dirt and damage, it may
be beneficial to lay a groundsheet down before un-
packing. Unpack the awning, separate and identify
the different parts (1).
Assemble the three fibreglass poles (2), these are
linked together and just need slotting together ensur-
ing that each pole is fully inserted into the adjoining
pole.
Assemble the six steel legs (2). They are spring
linked and just need to be slotted together ensuring
that they poles are fully inserted into each other.
Assemble the three adjustable steel stretcher poles.
Feed each of the fibreglass poles through the pole
sleeves on the outside of the flysheet. Push the
poles—do not pull (3).
There are six plastic angled brackets at the eaves of
the tent (4) just below the ends of the pole sleeves.
Each end of the bracket has a different diameter
opening—one suitable for the fibreglass roof poles
and the other for the steel legs.
Attach all the fibreglass roof poles to the plastic
brackets(5).
Attach the bent end of each of the steel legs to a
bracket (6). Lay all the legs the same way on the
ground facing the front of the tent (7). Peg the two
rear corners.

Ensure that the front door is open and then stand the
two rear legs upright (8). Locate the pin, on the key
ring at the base of the tent, into the bottom of each
steel leg (9). The key ring is on an adjustable strap
that can be loosened to make this easier. Remember
to tighten the straps afterwards (10).
Repeat with the intermediate set of legs (11) and then
with the front legs (12).
Close all doors and entrances.
Pull the front of the awning out tensioning both sides of
the awning (13) Peg the front corners ensuring that it
is square (14). You may have to re-peg this later.
Attach all the plastic clips onto the respective steel
legs (15).
Check that the whole awning is square, It is necessary
to pull each corner pegging point diagonally to create
tension in the awning. Peg the intermediate pegging
points, pegging the points either side of doorways first.
These doorways should be cross pegged - the points
should be pulled across each other. Once completed
the awning should look taut without too many creases -
if necessary readjust the pegging.

one end in the pocket at the front corner of the awning
(16) and the other end in the pocket in the opposite
corner. Tension and tighten the thumbscrew (17).
Repeat with the other stretcher bars. Tie the interme-
diate tie tapes around the stretcher bars to support
them (18).
Take the inner tent inside the awning and hang from
the suspension points, ensuring the door is at the front
(19/20). Some of the suspension points are colour
coded. Attach the base of the inner to the correspond-
ing buckles on the groundsheet (21). It will be easier
to attach the rear points before fully suspending the
inner tent.
