DOUBLE HELIX UPGRADE SYSTEM
Thank you for choosing the Double Helix Upgrade
System! This allows you to upgrade your existing
Pure Mini to a Double Helix/Pure Mini Combination
System.
THIS SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED BY A
PROFESSIONAL AS THERE IS SOLDERING
INVOLVED!
In this packet you will find:
•Installation overview
•Double Helix pickup installation (separate
manual)
•Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp (separate
manual)
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW:
1. Place guitar on a table and loosen strings, clamp
capo on 10th fret, pull string pins and pull out
ballends of strings.
2. Get a piece of cloth, a soldering iron and a small
vice or similar clamping device.
3. Remove the endpin jack’s strap nut, outer nut,
and washer and carefully pull endpin jack out of
the soundhole. Make sure to not lose the inner
washers on the jack.
4. Arrange the cloth, vice, etc. as shown in photo
below. Open screw cap of endpin jack.
5. Insert the bare cable end of the included pigtail
wire (short wire with the RCA jack) into the
screw cap of the endpin jack.

6. Solder as show in picture below: inner white
conductor to ring terminal (medium length
terminal of the 3 center terminals) and the blank
ground conductor to the ground tab.
7. It is not necessary to apply any strain relief.
8. Close the screw cap.
9. Reinstall the endpin jack.
10. Install the Double Helix pickup following the
included Double Helix pickup installation
manual.
11. Use the supplied stereo cable to connect the
guitar to the Dual Channel Pro ST preamp.
Pure Mini will be on channel 1
Double Helix on channel 2
Please refer to the included Dual Channel Pro
ST Preamp manual for preamp details.
12. This photo shows a suggested preset for the EQ
trimmers inside the preamp, especially good for
the GLOSS setting of the Double Helix.
13. If you preferably use the STEAM setting of the
Double Helix, you might want to turn down the
gain trimmer of channel 2 somewhat (the upper
left trimmer on the pic above), as the STEAM
setting is considerably louder than the GLOSS
setting.
