Battery

– Battery monitoring with deep-discharge pro-
tection.
Drive system
– 3-wheelrunninggearwithfrontwheelsteering
andfrontwheelhubmotorwithelectromagne-
tic brake.
– A ram protector is fitted to protect the front
wheel as a standard.
– Forward and reverse drive with a drive pedal,
switchover using selector pushbutton on in-
strument panel.
– Theunitbrakes automaticallywhenthedriver
leavestheseat(seatsensor)orwhenthedrive
pedal is released. The braking process is in-
itiated with an approx 1.5 second time delay.
– When the unit is at a standstill an electroma-
gneticbrakeonthewheelhubmotorprevents
it from rolling away.
– Additional brake pedal for increased brake
effect through drum brakes.
Sweeping system
– Brush head with two brush rollers or two disc
brushes (two drive motors each).
– Brushrollersrotatefrombelowtowardstoeach
other,discbrushesrotatetogetheratthefront.
– Coarsedirtcontainerforcoarsedirtpickedup
at the brush head (only BR version).
– Contactpressureofthebrushheadiscontrol-
led by the current consumption of the brush
motors.
– Brushes can be changed without tools.
– Brushheadwithsidesealingstripstolimitwater
distribution.
– Brush speed can be adjusted using FACT
(Flexible Application Control Technology) ,
depending on the cleaning tasks and floor
surface:
– Power Clean (= 100%)
– Whisper Clean (= 65%)
– Fine Clean (= 40%)
Water system
– Freshwatertanksonleftandrightsidesofthe
unit.
– Dirty water tank with float switch.
– Water supply to brush head with water pump.
– 10Stepwatervolumeadjustmentwithelectric
metering valve.
Vacuum system
– Suction motor (EC) draws the dirty water into
the dirty water tank.
– When the maximum level is reached in the
dirty water tank the float switch switches the
suction motor off with a time delay of 10-20
seconds.
– Suction beam with straight or curved design
(optional).
– Thesuctionbeamislowered/raisedwhenthe
suction motor is switched on/off. The suction
motorcontinuesrunningforapprox10seconds
(after running time).
– Rubber strips on the suction beam can be
replaced without tools.
– Tilted angle of the suction beam can be adju-
sted without tools.
Electrical system
– The control electronics are modular and ex-
tendable.
– The mounting plate with the printed circuit
boards (modules) is located behind the metal
cover to the left next to the floor panel.
– Thewarningandinformationmodule(A0)and
the head CPU module (A1) are located under
the instrument panel.

– TheBR/BD 100/250 RI has anadditionalpre-
sweeping unit with suction function.

not be retrofitted.

Note:
The freewheeling lever (4) must be pulled
outwards to the outside so that the unit can
be moved in the neutral position.
The freewheeling lever (4) disengages the
electromagnetic brake (5) of the hub motor
(M1).
During transport with an external towing
machine the (+) connection cable of the

2.4 Suction motor (M4)

Suction motor (M4)
The suction motor (3) (EC = electronically con-
trolled) generates a vacuum in the dirty water
tank, with which the dirty water is drawn in from
the suction beam.
The suction motor (3) is located behind the right
fresh water tank:
– Drain and remove the fresh water tank.
– Remove the three retaining screws on the
mountingplate(1).
– Push the fresh water tank forwards slightly
and remove upwards.

Water filter
The water filter (2) is located on the front left-
hand side under the fresh water tank.
Itfiltersthefreshwatertoprotectthewaterpump.

The water pump (3) and the cleaning agent me-
teringpump (4)are locatedto theleft atthe front
nexttothesteeringheadinthedirectionoftravel.
Thewaterpump(3)pumpsthefreshwatertothe

The cleaning agent metering pump (4) pumps
the cleaning agent to the injection point in the
water inlet hose to the brush head.
