Sehr geehrter Kunde, vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für ein
KaWe Produkt entschieden haben. Unsere Produkte
zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Qualität und Langle-
bigkeit aus.
Bitte lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung
vor der Benutzung sorgfältig und vollständig
durch und beachten Sie die Pflegehinweise.
Machen Sie sich vor der Benutzung sorgfäl-
tig mit der Bedienung vertraut.
Anwendung: Die Anwendung des Veterinäro-
toskopes darf nur durch autorisiertes Fachpersonal
erfolgen. Es dient zur medizinischen Untersuchung
in natürlichen Körperöffnungen wie Nase-Ohr-Mund
vonTieren.
Zweckbestimmung: Das Veterinär-Otoskop mit
aufgestecktem Ohrtrichter dient zur direkten Untersu-
chung des Gehörganges und desTrommelfells.
Warnhinweis: Eine ordnungsgemäße Funktion wird
durch die Verwendung von KaWe-Standardgriffen
2,5V mit 2 Batterien („C“ Baby 1,5V, empfehlenswert
Alkaline Batterien) oder KaWe-Ladebatterie (2,5 V
bzw. 3,5V) garantiert. Auf richtige Polarität und richti-
ge Glühlampe 2,5V bzw. 3,5V achten! Aufstecken und
Einrasten des Instrumentenkopfes.
Bedienung: Einschalten am Drehschalter durch Drü-
cken und Linksbewegung. Durch den Rheostat ist die
Helligkeit (max. Schalterstellung) einfach regulierbar.
Ausschalten durch Rechts-
bewegung zurück zum Aus-
gangspunkt (Schaltbewegung).
Batterie-/Ladebatteriewechsel
durch Öffnen der Bodenver-
schlusskappe. Griffe mit Ladebatterien (NiMH) können
an der KaWe MedCharge® 4000 (zusätzlich für Li-Ion
Ladebatterien) geladen werden.
Lampenwechsel: Drehen Sie
die Lampe in Pfeilrichtung aus
dem KaWe EUROLIGHT® VET-
Kopf und ziehen Sie die schwarze
Kunststoffhülse von der Lampe.
Drehen Sie die neue Lampe ein und schieben Sie an-
schließend die Kunststoffhülse wieder über die Lampe.
Der Glaskolben sollte sauber und frei von Fingerabdrü-
cken (fettfrei) sein. Die Lampe muss bis zum Anschlag
eingeschoben werden.
Ungeeignete Anwendung Kontraindikation
der Produkte: Eine andere oder darüber hinausge-
hende Benutzung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß.
Für hieraus resultierende Schäden haftet der Hersteller
nicht. Risiken sind keine bekannt, das Risiko trägt allein
der Anwender.
Weitere Hinweise, Wartung, Lagerung: Bei
bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch und vorschrifts-
mäßiger Lagerung wird Ihnen das Produkt viele Jahre
zuverlässig dienen.

Gewährleistung: Bei ordnungsgemäßer Hand-
habung und Berücksichtigung unserer Gebrauchsan-
weisung beträgt die Gewährleistung zwei Jahre be-
ginnend mit dem Verkaufsdatum (ausgenommen
Glühlampen/Ladebatterien). Bei weiteren Fragen oder
eventuellen Reparaturen wenden Sie sich bitte an Ih-
ren Fachhändler.
Warnhinweise: Bei der Reinigung von wieder-
verwendbaren Ohrtrichtern ist eine besondere Auf-
merksamkeit erforderlich. 134°C im Autoklaven nicht
überschreiten.
Eine lange Brenndauer kann die Bereiche um die Lam-
pe stark erwärmen. Da das Otoskop nicht für operative
Eingriffe bestimmt ist, reicht eine einfache Reinigung
bzw. Desinfektion mit einem Oberflächen-Desinfekti-
onsmittel auf alkoholischer Basis.
KaWe Otoskope sollten bei einer Raumtemperatur von
bis zu max. 35° C in Betrieb genommen werden. KaWe
Otoskope unterliegen besonderen Vorsichtsmaßnah-
men hinsichtlich der EMV. Die Funktion der KaWe
Otoskope kann durch tragbare und mobile HF-Kom-
munikationseinrichtungen beeinflusst werden.
Begrenzung der Wiederaufbereitung: Häufiges
Wiederaufbereiten hat eine geringe Auswirkung auf
diese Instrumente. Das Ende der Produktlebensdauer
wird normalerweise vonVerschleiß und Beschädigung
durch Gebrauch bestimmt. Es wird empfohlen die
Wiederaufbereitung der Dauer-Ohrtrichter möglichst
schnell nach der Anwendung vorzunehmen.
Anweisungen
Arbeitsplatz: Oberflächenverschmutzung mit einem
Einmaltuch/Papiertuch entfernen.
Aufbewahrung und Transport: Keine besonderen
Anforderungen.
Reinigungsvorbereitung: Keine besonderen An-
forderungen.
Reinigung manuell: Das Veterinärotoskop kann
außen mit einem feuchten, weichen und fusselfreien
Tuch gereinigt werden. Legen Sie das Otoskop nie-
mals in Flüssigkeit und achten Sie darauf, dass keine
Flüssigkeit ins Gehäuse eindringt! Keine scheuernden
Reinigungsmittel verwenden! Das Gerät ist nicht steri-
lisierbar. Die Lupe nur mit Glasreiniger säubern.
Reinigung automatisch: Automatische Reinigung
nicht möglich/nötig.
Desinfektion: Nur für wiederverwendbare Ohrtrich-
ter z.B. Helipur, entnehmen Sie die vom Hersteller
angegebenen Konzentrationen und Einwirkzeiten. Zur
Desinfektion kann dasVeterinärotoskop mit einem mit
Alkohol angefeuchtetenTuch abgewischt werden.
Sterilisation:Wiederverwendbare Dauer-Ohrtrichter
im Autoklaven bei 134°C mindestens 3 Min.
Zusätzliche Informationen: Bei der Sterilisation
von mehreren Instrumenten im Autoklaven darf die
vom Sterilisatorhersteller angegebene Höchsttraglast
nicht überschritten werden.
Wartung: Beschädigte Teile aussortieren bzw. er-
setzen. Wenn keine Funktion vorhanden gehen Sie
folgendermaßen vor: 1. Batterien oder Ladebatterien
tauschen, Funktion prüfen; 2. Lampe tauschen, Funk-
tion prüfen; 3. Gerät zur Reparatur einsenden.

Kontrolle und Funktionsprüfung: Die beweg-
lichen Teile wie Lupenrahmen und Steckverbindung
auf Leichtgängigkeit prüfen. Einschalten des Gerätes.
Alle Geräte: Sichtprüfung auf Beschädigungen und
Verschleiß durchführen.
Verpackung: Einzeln in einer Stofftasche oder Box.
Lagerung: Keine besonderen Anforderungen.
Entsorgung: Das Produkt muss gemäß der örtlichen
Bestimmungen einer getrennten Sammelstelle zuge-
führt werden.
Gebrauchsanweisung/Pflegehinweise
Ladebatterien NiMH/Li-Ion
Zweckbestimmung: Die Ladebatterien dienen als
Energiegeber für die dafür vorgesehenen KaWe-Pro-
dukte.
Ungeeignete Anwendung/Kontraindikation
der Produkte: Eine andere oder darüber hinausge-
hende Benutzung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß.
Für hieraus resultierende Schäden haftet der Hersteller
nicht, das Risiko trägt allein der Anwender.
Weitere Hinweise, Wartung, Lagerung: Die La-
debatterien können ggf. mit einem feuchten Tuch ab-
gewischt werden, anschließend mit einem trockenen
Tuch abwischen (trocknen), achten Sie darauf keinen
Kurzschluss zu erzeugen.
Die Verwendung von nicht ausdrücklich für diese
Geräte zugelassenen Ladebatterien kann zu Explosio-
nen oder zum Leckwerden führen und Brände, Ver-
letzungen oder Beschädigungen der Umgebung zur
Folge haben. Sollte eine Ladebatterie leck sein und
Augen, Mund, Haut oder Kleidung mit den ausgetre-
tenen Substanzen in Berührung kommen, sollten Sie
die betroffene Stelle unverzüglich mitWasser abspülen
und einen Arzt aufsuchen.
Weitere Pflegehinweise, die die Lebensdauer
der Ladebatterie verlängern: Beachten Sie bitte
die folgenden Hinweise: (bei Nichtbeachten kann die
Ladebatterie bereits nach kurzer Zeit nicht mehr die
volle Kapazität zurVerfügung stellen).
Bei der NiMH-Technologie kann ein Lazy-Battery-
Effekt, vergleichbar mit dem klassischen Memory-
Effekt, der NiCd-Technologie auftreten. Die Ursachen
hierfür liegen in der nicht vollständig verbrauchten
Energie vor einer erneuten Ladung. Dieser Effekt
lässt sich vermeiden, wenn die Ladebatterie von
Zeit zu Zeit komplett entladen und dann wieder
aufgeladen wird. Am Besten zwei- bis dreimal hin-
tereinander. Die Ladebatterie erhält ihre alte Leis-
tungsfähigkeit zurück. Stellt die Ladebatterie nicht
mehr genügend Energie zur Verfügung um Ihr Gerät
zu betreiben, schalten Sie umgehend das Gerät ab und
laden Sie die Ladebatterie (Vermeidung einer Tiefent-
ladung und damit Zerstörung der Ladebatterie).
Bitte beachten Sie die Selbstentladung der Ladebat-
terien. Werden diese eine längere Zeit nicht benötigt
(beansprucht, geladen) kommt es zu einer Selbst-
entladung. Die Kapazität geht verloren und die Lade-
batterien können dauerhaften Schaden nehmen. Der
Herstellerhaftetfürsolche Schädennicht. Die Ladebat-
terien sollten daher bei einer Lagerung, welche länger
als einen Monat andauert, mit einerTeilladung von ca.
50 % gelagert werden.

Beachten Sie stets die angegebene Ladedauer um eine
Überladung und somit Zerstörung der Ladebatterie
zu vermeiden (KaWe Ladestation KaWe MedCharge®
4000 verfügt über eine integrierte automatische Ab-
schaltung). NiMH Ladebatterien weisen bei niedrigen
Temperaturen (bereits ab 0°C) einen Kapazitätsverlust
auf.
Risiken und Hinweise auf mögliche Gefahren:
1. Vermeiden Sie einen Kurzschluss an den Ladebat-
terien. 2. Legen Sie die Ladebatterien nie in Flüssig-
keiten. 3. Halten Sie Ladebatterien von Hitzequellen
und offenen Flammen fern. 4. Ladebatterien dürfen
nicht in Wasser oder Salzwasser getaucht werden. 5.
Versuchen Sie niemals Ladebatterien zu zerlegen, zu
modifizieren oder Hitze auszusetzen. 6. Lassen Sie
die Ladebatterien möglichst nicht fallen und schützen
Sie sie vor Stößen und Schlägen, die das Gehäuse be-
schädigen könnten. 7.Verwenden Sie nur empfohlene
Ladebatterien und Zubehörteile. 8. Bei erstmaliger
Inbetriebnahme der Ladebatterie diese stets komp-
lett aufladen. 9. Trennen Sie das Ladegerät und den
Kompakt-Netzadapter nach dem Aufladen und bei
Nichtgebrauch sowohl vom Gerät als auch von der
Steckdose um Brände und andere Gefahren zu ver-
meiden. 10. Während das Ladegerät in Betrieb ist,
darf es nicht mit Gegenständen (Tischdecke, Teppich,
Bettwäsche, Kissen usw.) bedeckt werden. Wenn
Sie den Netzadapter über längere Zeit verwenden
kann er sich überhitzen, verziehen oder in Brand
geraten. 11. Laden Sie die Ladebatterie nur mit dem
dafür vorgesehenen Ladegerät. Das Ladegerät und
der Kompakt-Netzadapter wurden ausschließlich
für die Verwendung mit Ihrem Produkt entwickelt.
Verwenden Sie sie nicht mit anderen Produkten oder
Ladebatterien. Es besteht die Gefahr von Überhitzung
und Verwindung, wodurch Brände und elektrische
Schläge ausgelöst werden können. 12. Vor dem Ent-
sorgen einer Ladebatterie sollten Sie die Kontakte mit
Klebestreifen oder sonstigem Isoliermaterial abkleben,
damitdiesenichtmitanderenGegenständenindirekte
Berührung geraten. Eine Berührung mit Metallgegen-
ständen in Müllbehältern kann zu Bränden und Explo-
sionen führen.

Dear customer, thank you for choosing a KaWe prod-
uct. Our products are known for their high quality and
long life.
Please read these instructions thoroughly and
carefully before attempting to use this product
and heed the care instructions.
Familiarize yourself fully with this product
before using it.
Use:These veterinary otoscopes are only to be used by
authorized medical personnel. They are intended for
the medical inspection of the natural body orifices
such as the nose, ear, or oral cavities of animals.
Purpose: The veterinary otoscopes with attached ear
funnel are used for the direct examination of the audi-
tory canal and eardrum.
Warning: Proper operation is guaranteed only when
standard 2.5V KaWe handles are used. These require
two 1.5V“C”batteries (we recommend alkaline batter-
ies) or KaWe-brand rechargeable batteries (2.5 V or
3.5V). Ensure that the polarity and type of bulb (2.5V
or 3.5V) are correct! Attach the instrument head to the
handle and lock it into place.
Operation: Turn on the lamp by pressing down and
rotating the switch to the left. The light intensity
(maximum switch position) can easily be adjusted
with the rheostat.Turn off by rotating the switch back
to the right to its starting position. To exchange the
battery, unscrew the bottom cap. Handles powered by
rechargeable batteries (NiMH or
Li-Ion) can be charged with the
KaWe MedCharge® 4000 charg-
ing station.
Replacing the bulb: Twist the
bulb out of the headpiece of the
KaWe EUROLIGHT® VET as di-
rected by the arrow and remove
the black plastic sleeve from the
bulb. Screw in the new bulb and then slip the plastic
sleeve back onto the bulb.The bulb must be clean and
free of finger prints (grease). Ensure that the bulb has
been fully inserted into the socket.
Unsuited use/contraindication of the products:
Any use other than that described here is not in accor-
dance with the intended use of the unit.The manufac-
turer is not liable for any resulting damages.There are
no known risks.The user alone bears the risk.
Further information, maintenance, storage:
When used and stored properly, these otoscopes will
serve you many years.
Guarantee: When used under normal circumstances
and with attention to these instructions we guarantee
this product for two years after the date of purchase
(with the exception of bulbs and rechargeable batter-

Warning instructions: When cleaning the reusable
ear funnels, special attention is required. A tempera-
ture of 134°C in the autoclave is not to be exceeded.
When switched on for a long time the parts around the
bulb can become very hot. As the otoscope is not in-
tended for use during operational procedures, simple
cleaning and or disinfection with an alcohol-based
surface disinfecting agent is sufficient.
KaWe otoscopes should not be used in rooms where
the temperature may exceed 35° C. KaWe otoscopes
are subject to special safety measures regarding elec-
tromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The operation of the
KaWe otoscope can be influenced by portable and
mobile HF communication devices.
Limitation of reprocessing: Frequent reprocessing
influences the instruments only minimally. The work-
ing life of the instruments usually depends on the wear
and tear and damage by use. It is recommended, that
the ear funnels be re-prepared as soon as possible after
their use on a patient.
Instructions
Workstation: Remove dirt accumulation on surfaces
with a paper/disposable cloth.
Storage and transport: No special requirements
Cleaning preparation: No special requirements
Manual cleaning:The exterior surface of the veteri-
nary otoscope can be cleaned with a damp, soft, lint-
free cloth. Never allow the otoscope to come into con-
tact with fluids and ensure that liquids do not
penetrate the housing. Do not use abrasive cleaning
agents! The unit cannot be sterilized. The magnifying
glass is to only be cleaned with glass cleaner.
Automatic cleaning: No automatic cleaning possi-
ble/required.
Disinfection: Only the reusable ear funnels need to
be disinfected with (for example) helipur. Follow the
concentrations and reaction times given by the manu-
facturer. The veterinary otoscope can be disinfected by
wiping it off with a cloth dampened with alcohol.
Sterilization: Reusable funnels must be sterilized in
an autoclave at a temperature of 134°C for a minimum
of 3 minutes.
Additional information: If different kinds of instru-
ments are being sterilized in the autoclave at the same
time, the maximum load given by the manufacturer
must not be exceeded.
Maintenance: Defective parts must be removed and
replaced. If the device does not function properly, fol-
low these steps: 1. Replace batteries/rechargeable
batteries and check their functionality; 2. Replace the
bulb and check its functionality; 3. Send the unit in for
repair.
Check and performance test: Check all movable
parts such as the frames of the magnifying glasses and
plug-in connections to ensure that they all move
smoothly.Turn on the unit. For all units:Visually check
all parts for damage and wear.
Packaging: Individually packed in a cloth bag or box.
Storage: No special requirements.

Disposal: The product is to be disposed of at a sepa-
rate waste disposal location in accordance with local
ordinances.

Rechargeable NiMH/Li-Ion Batteries
Purpose:The rechargeable batteries are to be used as
an energy source for the intended KaWe products.
Unsuited use/contraindication of the products:
Any use other than that described here is not in accor-
dance with the intended use of this product. The
manufacturer is not liable for any resulting damages.
The user alone bears the risk.
Further information, maintenance, storage:
The charging batteries can be cleaned if necessary with
a damp cloth and then wiped with a dry cloth. Please
ensure that no short-circuit is produced.
The use of rechargeable batteries that are not explicitly
approved for these units may cause explosions or leak-
ages and the risk of fire, injuries and damage to sur-
roundings. In the case that a rechargeable battery be-
gins to leak and spilled substances come into contact
with eyes, mouth, skin or clothing, immediately rinse
the effected spot with water and consult a doctor.
Further maintenance instructions that may
prolong the life of the rechargeable battery:
Please heed the following instructions: The non-ob-
servance of these instructions may result in the re-
chargeable battery losing its full capacity within a
short period of time.
With NiMH technology, a lazy battery effect can occur
that is analogous to the classic memory effect. It is
triggered by the energy that has not been completely
spent prior to recharging the battery.This effect can be
nearly eliminated by completely discharging the bat-
tery from time to time and then by recharging it two or
three times in quick succession. Subsequently, the re-
chargeable battery will regain its full capacity. In the
case that the rechargeable battery no longer provides
enough energy to power the unit, immediately turn
the unit off and charge the battery (in order to prevent
it from losing its charge completely which would result
in the destruction of the rechargeable battery).
Please keep in mind that the rechargeable batteries
can spontaneously discharge. When the rechargeable
batteries are not used (charged) for a longer period of
time, a self-discharge may occur. The capacity will be
lost and the rechargeable battery may become perma-
nently defective.The manufacturer is not liable for any
resulting damages. Therefore, when stored for more
than one month, the rechargeable battery should be
partially charged to approx. 50%.
Please always heed the given charging time in order to
prevent overcharging and the resulting destruction of
the rechargeable battery (the KaWe charging station
KaWe MedCharge® 4000 has an integrated automatic
shut-off). NiMH rechargeable batteries lose their ca-
pacity at low temperatures (as low as 0°C).
Risks and notice of possible danger: 1. Avoid
short-circuiting the rechargeable batteries. 2. Never al-
low the rechargeable batteries to come into contact
with liquids. 3. Keep the rechargeable battery away
from heating installations and open flames. 4. Re-
chargeable are not to be immersed in water or salt wa-
ter 5. Never try to disassemble or modify the recharge-
ablebatteriesorexposethem toheat.6.Avoiddropping

the rechargeable batteries and protect them against
being hit or crushed as this may damage the housing.
7. Please only use the rechargeable battery and acces-
sory parts recommended by KaWe. 8. When using a
rechargeable battery for the first time, please make sure
to charge it completely. 9. When charging is completed
and the charging unit and the compact adapter are no
longer in use, please disconnect them from the unit and
the power socket in order to avoid fires and other haz-
ards. 10. Do not cover the charging unit with any kind
of material (tablecloths, carpets, bedclothes etc.) while
operating the instrument. If you use the adapter for a
longer period of time, it may become overheated, lose
its original shape or catch fire. 11. Please only charge
the rechargeable battery in the appropriate recharge-
able battery charging unit. The charging unit and the
compact adapter have been developed especially for
use with your unit. Please do not use them with other
products or re-chargeable batteries. All other products
may cause the risk of excessive heat and distortion and
thus the risk of fire and electric shock. 12. Prior to dis-
posing of the batteries, ensure that the contacts are
masked with adhesive strips or other insulating mate-
rial in order to prevent their direct contact with other
materials. Contact with other metallic material in trash
cans may cause a fire or explosion.

Utilisation : Seul le personnel qualifié est autorisé à
se servir de l’otoscope vétérinaire. Il sert à l’examen

Fonction : L’otoscope vétérinaire avec spéculum auri-
culaire emboîté sert à l’examen direct du conduit audi-
tif et de la membrane du tympan.
Avertissement : Le bon fonctionnement n’est garan-
ti qu’à condition d’utiliser les poignées standard KaWe
2,5V avec2piles(«C»Baby1,5V, nous recommandons
les piles alcalines) ou des piles rechargeables KaWe
(2,5V ou 3,5 V). Attention à la polarité correcte et veil-
ler à utiliser l’ampoule correcte 2,5V ou 3,5V ! Emboî-
ter et faire encliqueter la tête de l’instrument.
Utilisation : Appuyer puis tourner à gauche le com-
mutateur rotatif pour allumer l’ensemble. La clarté est
facile à régler avec le rhéostat (réglage max.).Tourner à
droite pour revenir au point de départ et éteindre (ré-
glage). Ouvrir le capuchon inférieur pour changer les
piles / les piles rechargeables.
Les poignées fonctionnant avec
des piles rechargeables (NiMH)
peuvent être rechargées sur le
chargeur KaWe MedCharge®
4000 (en plus pour les piles rechargeables lithium-ion).
Échange de la lampe : Tourner
la lampe dans le sens de la flèche
pour l’enlever de la tête de l’ins-
trument KaWe EUROLIGHT® VET
et retirer le manchon plastique
noir de la lampe. Insérer la lampe neuve et remettre le
manchon plastique noir sur la lampe. L’ampoule doit
être propre et sans empreintes de doigts (exempte de
graisse). Introduire la lampe jusqu’au bout.

agréé.
Avertissements : Une attention particulière doit être
portée au nettoyage des spéculums auriculaires réutili-
sables. Ne pas dépasser la température de 134°C dans
l’autoclave.
Quand la lampe reste longtemps allumée, les zones
autour de la lampe deviennent très chaudes. Comme
l’otoscope n’est pas destiné à des interventions chirur-
gicales, il suffit de le nettoyer simplement avec un dés-
infectant local à base d’alcool pour le désinfecter.
Les otoscopes KaWe devraient être mis en service avec
une température ambiante maximale de 35° C. Quant
à la compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM), il faut
prévoir des mesures de précaution particulières pour
les otoscopes KaWe. Le fonctionnement des otoscopes
KaWe peut être affecté par les appareils de communi-
cation RF portables et mobiles.
Limite de la remise en état de service : Une re-
mise en état fréquente n’a presque pas d’influence sur
ces instruments. La durée de vie de ce produit dépend
normalement de l’usure et des dommages éventuels.
Nous recommandons de retraiter les spéculums auri-
culaires réutilisables le plus tôt possible après leur
usage.
Instructions
Lieu de travail : Éliminer les souillures superficielles
avec un chiffon à usage unique/en papier.
Conservation et transport : Aucune mesure parti-
culière n’est nécessaire.
Préparation du nettoyage : Aucune mesure parti-
culière n’est nécessaire.
Nettoyage manuel :L’otoscope vétérinaire peut être
nettoyé avec un chiffon humide, doux et non pelu-
cheux. Ne jamais plonger l’otoscope dans un liquide et
éviter toute pénétration de liquide dans le boîtier ! Ne
pas utiliser de nettoyants abrasifs ! L’appareil ne peut
être stérilisé. Nettoyer la loupe seulement avec un pro-
duit nettoyant à vitre.
Nettoyage automatique : Nettoyage automatique
impossible / non nécessaire.
Désinfection : Ne vaut que pour les spéculums auri-
culaires réutilisables, p.ex. Helipur ; respecter les
concentrationsetdurées de traitementindiquées par le
fabricant. Pour désinfecter l’otoscope vétérinaire, hu-
midifier le chiffon avec de l’alcool.
Stérilisation : Stériliser les spéculums auriculaires
réutilisables dans l’autoclave à une température de
134°C et pendant 3 minutes au moins.
Informations complémentaires : Si plusieurs ins-
truments sont stérilisés en même temps dans l’auto-
clave, veiller à ne pas dépasser la charge maximale
admissible indiquée par le fabricant du matériel de
stérilisation.
Entretien : Éliminer et remplacer les pièces détério-
rées. Si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas, procéder comme
suit : 1. Remplacer les piles ou les piles rechargeables,
vérifier leur bon fonctionnement. 2. Remplacer la
lampe, vérifier son bon fonctionnement. 3. Renvoyer
l’appareil pour réparation.

Remarques supplémentaires, entretien,
conservation:Lecas échéant,lespilesrechargeables
s’essuient avec une lingette humide, puis elles seront
séchées avec une lingette sèche ; attention de ne pas
causer de court-circuit.
L’utilisation de piles rechargeables non autorisées ex-
pressément pour ces appareils peut conduire à des ex-
plosions ou à des fuites et des incendies, à des bles-
sures ou des dégâts à proximité du lieu d’utilisation. En
cas de fuite d’une pile rechargeable, si les substances
qui en sortent sont entrées en contact avec les yeux, la
bouche, la peau ou les vêtements, il faut laver cet en-
droit à l’eau et consulter un médecin.
Les consignes d’entretien ci-après prolongent
la vie de la pile rechargeable. Respectez les
consignes suivantes : (si vous ne les suivez pas, il se
peut que la pile rechargeable ne dispose plus de toute
sa capacité au bout de peu de temps).
En technologie NiMH, un effet de paresse (lazy batte-
ry) peut se produire ; il est comparable à l’effet de mé-
moire classique de la technologie NiCd. Il se présente
quand une pile est à nouveau rechargée alors que son
énergie n’avait pas été entièrement utilisée. Il est pos-
sible d’éviter cet effet en déchargeant la pile rechar-
geable complètement de temps en temps et en la re-
chargeant ensuite, de préférence deux ou trois fois de
suite. Ainsi la pile rechargeable retrouve toute sa puis-
sance. Si la pile rechargeable ne dispose plus de l’éner-
gie suffisante pour faire fonctionner votre appareil,
éteignez ce dernier tout de suite et rechargez la pile
rechargeable (évitez une décharge profonde qui ris-
querait de détruire la pile rechargeable).
Notez que les piles rechargeables se déchargent spon-
tanément. Si vous ne vous en servez pas pendant assez
longtemps (vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil ou vous ne
chargez pas les piles), elles se déchargent spontané-
ment. Leur capacité s’épuise et les piles rechargeables
peuvent subir des dommages durables. Le fabricant
décline toute responsabilité pour ces dommages. C’est
pourquoi avant d’être mises en réserve pour une pé-

riode de plus d’un mois, il faudrait vérifier que les piles
rechargeablesprésententunétatdechargepartielle de
50% environ.
Respectez toujours la durée de charge indiquée pour
éviter une surcharge conduisant à une destruction de
la pile rechargeable (le chargeur KaWe MedCharge®
4000disposed’unarrêt automatiqueintégré).Lespiles
rechargeables NiMH présentent une perte de capacité
à basse température (dès 0 °C).
Risques et dangers possibles : 1. Evitez de court-
circuiter les piles rechargeables. 2. Ne mettez jamais
les piles rechargeables dans des liquides. 3. Maintenez
les piles rechargeables à distance des sources de cha-
leur et des flammes nues. 4. Les piles rechargeables ne
doivent pas être mises dans l’eau ni dans l’eau salée. 5.
N’essayez en aucun cas de démonter les piles rechar-
geables ni de les modifier ni de les soumettre à la
chaleur. 6. Evitez de laisser tomber les piles rechar-
geables et protégez-les des chocs et des coups suscep-
tibles d’endommager le boîtier. 7. Utilisez uniquement
les piles rechargeables et les accessoires recomman-
dés. 8. Lors de la première mise en service des piles
rechargeables, veillez à les charger complètement. 9.
Après avoir chargé la pile et quand vous ne vous en
servez pas, déconnectez le chargeur et l’adaptateur de
secteur compact à la fois de l’appareil et de la prise de
courant afin d’éviter des incendies et d’autres dangers.
10. Pendant que le chargeur est en marche, il ne doit
pas être recouvert par des objets (nappe, tapis, drap de
lit, oreiller, coussin, etc.). Quand vous vous servez de
l’adaptateur de secteur pendant une assez longue pé-
riode, il risque de subir une surchauffe, de se déformer
ou de prendre feu. 11. Chargez la pile rechargeable
uniquement avec le chargeur prévu à cet effet. Le char-
geur et l’adaptateur de secteur compact ont été conçus
exclusivement pour être utilisés avec votre appareil. Ne
les utilisez pas avec d’autres appareils ni avec d’autres
piles rechargeables.Vous risquez une surchauffe et une
déformation pouvant conduire à des incendies et à des
décharges électriques. 12. Avant d’éliminer une pile
rechargeable, il faut mettre une bande de ruban adhé-
sif ou tout autre isolant sur les contacts afin qu’ils ne
soient pas directement en contact avec d’autres objets.
Le contact avec des objets en métal dans les poubelles
peut causer des incendies et des explosions.

Si prega di leggere attentamente queste istru-
zioni per l’uso prima di utilizzare lo strumento
e di seguire i consigli per la manutenzione.
Prima dell’uso assicurarsi di essere in grado
di utilizzare il prodotto.
Uso: Solamente il personale addetto e debitamente
addestrato è autorizzato all’uso dell’otoscopio per uso
veterinario. Lo strumento serve all’esame medico degli
orifizi naturali quali per esempio il naso, le orecchie e la
bocca di animali.
Impiego specifico: L’otoscopio per uso veterinario
con lo specula montato è concepito per la visita diretta
del condotto uditivo e del timpano.
Avvertenze: Il funzionamento regolare è garantito
se si utilizzano manici standard della KaWe a 2,5V con
2batterie(“C”mezza torcia1,5V,siconsiglianobatterie
alcaline) o batteria ricaricabile della KaWe (2,5V o 3,5
V). Fare attenzione alla corretta polarità ed alla corretta
lampadina 2,5 V o 3,5 V! Inserire la testina dello stru-
mento facendola incastrare correttamente.
Come si usa: Accendere tramite l’apposito dispositivo
pigiando e ruotando a sinistra. Grazie al reostato è pos-
sibile regolare facilmente la luminosità (posizione
max.dell’interruttore).Perspegnerelostrumento rote-
are verso destra fino a ritornare
alla posizione di partenza (inne-
sto). Per cambiare le batterie
normali o quelle ricaricabili apri-
re il tappo di chiusura sul fondo
del manico. I manici con batterie ricaricabili (NiMH)
possono essere ricaricati con il caricatore KaWe
MedCharge® 4000 (in aggiunta per batterie ricaricabili
Li-Ion).
Cambio della lampadina:
Roteare la lampadina in direzio-
ne della freccia dalla testina
KaWe EUROLIGHT® VET ed
estrarre dalla lampadina il bus-
solotto di plastica nera. Avvitare la nuova lampadina e
riportare nuovamente il bussolotto di plastica sopra la
lampadina. Il bulbo deve essere pulito e privo di im-
pronte digitali (privo di macchie di grasso). La lampa-
dina deve essere inserita fino all’arresto.
Uso inappropriato/Controindicazioni del pro-
dotto: Ogni utilizzo che esuli da dette applicazioni
viene considerato come non conforme alle norme
prescritte. Dei danni da ciò derivanti non è responsabi-
le il produttore. Non sono noti rischi, il rischio grava
esclusivamente sull’utilizzatore.
Ulteriori avvertenze, manutenzione, conserva-
zione: Se usato come previsto e conservato secondo le
prescrizioni, il prodotto garantisce per molti anni un
funzionamento affidabile.

Garanzia legale: Previ l’utilizzo regolamentare e
l’osservanza delle nostre istruzioni per l’uso, il prodotto
è coperto da garanzia legale per due anni, a partire
dalla data di acquisto dello stesso (ad eccezione di
batterie ricaricabili e lampadine). In caso di ulteriori
domande o eventuali riparazioni si prega di rivolgersi
al proprio rivenditore di fiducia.
Avvertimenti: La pulitura di specula riutilizzabili ri-
chiede particolare attenzione. Non superare i 134°C
nell’autoclave.
Lasciandolo acceso a lungo è possibile che le parti at-
torno alla lampadina si riscaldino molto. Poiché l’oto-
scopio non è previsto per eseguire operazioni è suffi-
ciente pulirlo o disinfettarlo leggermente con un
disinfettante per superfici a base di alcol.
Gli otoscopi KaWe si dovrebbero utilizzare con tempe-
ratura ambiente di massimo 35° C. Gli otoscopi KAWE
sottostanno a specifiche misure precauzionali relative
alla compatibilità elettromagnetica. Il funzionamento
degli otoscopi KaWe può essere pregiudicato da appa-
recchi radioelettrici portatili e mobili RF.
Ricostituzione della prontezza all’uso: Una ripe-
tuta ricostituzione della prontezza all’uso di questi
strumenti ha uno scarso effetto sugli stessi. Il termine
dell’utilizzo di un prodotto è di norma determinato dal
logoramento e dal deterioramento dovuto all’uso. Si
consiglia di procedere alla ricostituzione alla prontezza
d’uso degli specula riutilizzabili il prima possibile dopo
averli utilizzati.
Istruzioni
Posto di lavoro: Rimuovere lo sporco dalla superficie
con un panno usa e getta/una salviettina di carta.
Conservazione e trasporto: Nessuna indicazione
particolare.
Preparazione alla pulitura: Nessuna indicazione
particolare.
Pulitura manuale: È possibile pulire l’otoscopio per
uso veterinario esternamente con un panno umido
morbido che non impeli. Non immergere mai l’otosco-
pio in sostanze liquide e far attenzione che non entrino
liquidi nel basamento! Non utilizzare agenti di pulitura
abrasivi! Lo strumento non è sterilizzabile. Pulire la
lente d’ingrandimento solo con un detergente per ve-
tri.
Pulitura automatica: Una pulitura automatica non
è possibile/necessaria.
Disinfezione: Soltanto per specula auricolari riutiliz-
zabili, p.es. Helipur: vedere le concentrazioni e i tempi
di effetto indicati dal produttore. Per disinfettare l’oto-
scopio per uso veterinario è possibile pulirlo con un
panno inumidito con poco alcol.
Sterilizzazione: Specula auricolari riutilizzabili: al-
meno 3 minuti a 134°C in autoclave.
Ulteriori informazioni: La sterilizzazione in auto-
clave di più strumenti non deve superare il carico mas-
simo indicato dal produttore dello sterilizzatore.
Manutenzione: Eliminare ovvero sostituire parti
danneggiate. Se lo strumento non funziona procedere
nelmodoseguente:1) Sostituirebatterie/batterierica-
ricabili, controllarne il funzionamento. 2) Sostituire la
lampadina, controllarne il funzionamento. 3) Spedire
lo strumento per la riparazione.

Ulteriori avvertenze, manutenzione, conserva-
zione: Anche le batterie ricaricabili possono essere puli-
te, se necessario, con un panno umido, quindi ripassate
accuratamente con un panno asciutto (asciugare), fa-
cendo attenzione a non provocare un corto circuito.
L’utilizzo di batterie ricaricabili non espressamente am-
messe per questi apparecchi può essere causa di esplo-
sioni oppure provocare perdite con la conseguenza di
incendi, lesioni o danneggiamenti dell’ambiente circo-
stante. Qualora, in caso di perdite, gli occhi, la bocca, la
pelle o i capi di abbigliamento entrassero in contatto
con le sostanze fuoriuscite, sciacquare immediatamen-
te con acqua le parti interessate e consultare un medi-
co.
Ulteriori consigli per allungare la vita delle
batterie: Si prega di osservare i seguenti consi-
gli: (l’inosservanza comporta la riduzione della capa-
cità della batteria ricaricabile che già dopo poco tempo
non potrà di conseguenza mettere più a disposizione
tutta la sua capacità).
Nella tecnologia NiMH può verificarsi l’effetto indesi-
derato detto Lazy-Battery (batteria pigra), paragona-
bile al classico effetto memoria della tecnologia NiCd.
Le cause sono da ricercarsi nel fatto che l’energia non
viene completamente sfruttata prima della ricarica.
Questo effetto può essere evitato scaricando completa-
mente la batteria di tanto in tanto e quindi ricaricando-
la,meglioseperdue-trevoltediseguito.Intalmodola
batteria ricaricabile riacquista la piena capacità avuta.
Qualora la batteria ricaricabile non erogasse più il
quantitativo di energia sufficiente a far funzionare il
vostro apparecchio, spegnere immediatamente l’appa-
recchio stesso e caricare la batteria (si evita così la sca-
rica eccessiva e quindi la rottura della batteria ricarica-
bile).
Non si dimentichi che le batterie ricaricabili si autosca-
ricano se non se ne ha bisogno per molto tempo (uti-
lizzo, carica). La capacità diminuisce e le batterie po-
trebbero venir danneggiate per sempre. Il produttore
non risponde per tali danni. Perciò nel caso in cui non si
utilizzassero le batterie ricaricabili per più di un mese,

accertarsi prima diriporlechesianocarichealmenoper
ca. il 50%.
Si controlli sempre il tempo di carica indicato onde
evitare una sovraccarica e quindi la rottura della batte-
ria ricaricabile (il caricatore KaWe MedCharge® 4000
della KaWe dispone di un dispositivo di spegnimento
automatico integrato). Le batterie ricaricabili NiMH
subiscono un calo della capacità se sottoposte a basse
temperature (già a partire da 0°C).
Rischi e avvertimenti sui possibili pericoli: 1)
Evitare corto circuiti delle batterie ricaricabili. 2) Non
immergere mai le batterie ricaricabili in sostanze liqui-
de. 3) Tenere le batterie ricaricabili lontano da fonti di
caloree fiamme. 4) Nonimmergerelebatterie ricarica-
bili in acqua o acqua salata. 5) Non provare mai a
scomporre le batterie ricaricabili, a modificarle o sotto-
porle ad elevate temperature. 6) Fare attenzione a non
far cadere le batterie ricaricabili ed assicurarle contro
eventuali colpi o botte che potrebbero danneggiarne il
basamento. 7) Utilizzare solamente le batterie ricarica-
bili e gli accessori consigliati. 8) Alla prima messa in
funzione delle batterie ricaricabili caricarle sempre
completamente. 9) Dopo la carica e in caso di non
utilizzo separare il caricatore e l’adattatore di rete com-
patto, sia dall’apparecchio che dalla presa di corrente
onde evitare incendi o altri tipi di pericoli. 10) Non co-
prire il caricatore in funzione con altri oggetti (tovaglie,
tappeti,lenzuola,cuscinietc.). Se si utilizza l’adattatore
di rete troppo a lungo, esso può surriscaldarsi, defor-
marsi o incendiarsi. 11) Caricare la batteria ricaricabile
solamente servendosi del caricatore. Il caricatore e l’a-
dattatore di rete sono stati concepiti esclusivamente
per essere usati con il vostro prodotto. Non utilizzarle
mai con altri prodotti o batterie ricaricabili. C’è pericolo
di surriscaldamento e deformazione che potrebbero
essere causa di incendi e scosse elettriche. 12) Prima di
smaltire una batteria ricaricabile si consiglia di coprire
i contatti con nastro adesivo o materiale isolante simile
per evitare che entrino in contatto diretto con altri og-
getti. Un contatto diretto con oggetti in metallo even-
tualmente presenti nei contenitori per l’immondizia
può comportare infatti incendi ed esplosioni.
