1.3 Components
The Evolution3 BenchTop (part A) comes in 9 different sizes ranging from 1.1m (44″) to 5.1m (204″)(cutting length) in 0.5m
(20″) increments. Each machine is fitted with a Double Graphik blade cutting head.

The three pieces of ACP (aluminium composite panel) or PVC foamboard should be approximately 150mm x 100mm (6″ x 4″)

2. Installation
2.1 Workspace required
The width of the work surface needs to be 40cm (15 ¾″) wider
than the cut length of the BenchTop.
Example: E3BT260 (104″) + 40cm (15 ¾″) = 300cm (118″) work
bench.

2.2 Work bench flatness test and requirements
If your workbench does not meet the following parameters and cannot be adjusted for flatness it is recommended to use a
different bench. Keencut’s BenchTop Bench is designed especially for this purpose.
Check the flatness of the worktop by stretching a thin piece of
strong thread between two blocks of the same height
approximately over the area the cutter is to be mounted.
Measure the highest and lowest part of the worktop under the
thread, the difference between the two measurements should be
no more than 3mm (⅛″). If it is greater it will be necessary to
adjust the surface flatness with a new top or by using spacing
pieces under the base plate.
The work surface must be stable with a robust framework below
and good support (no flexing) in the area under the two ends of
the cutter.
Both ends of the cutter must be fully supported and not
overhanging the work surface.

2.3 Aligning and attaching the base plate
IMPORTANT: This step should be carried out by two people to prevent damage or injury. Do not remove the film that wraps
around the cutter bar and base plate until instructed.

Lift the BenchTop into position.
Be careful when lifting
Ensure that the BenchTop is parallel with the edge of the work
surface.

When located, use scissors to remove the film packaging.
Mark the position of the base plate on the worksurface using a
pencil, lift up the top of the BenchTop to separate the cutter bar
from the base plate, and place it to one side.
Be careful when lifting
Use a posi-head screwdriver with screws (part D) to fix the base
plate in position.

Using 2 people, lift the cutter bar back into position over the
base plate.
Be careful when lifting
NOTE: Do not fix the cutter bar into position at this stage

3. Assembly and calibration
3.1 Fit the Lift-and-Hover levers
IMPORTANT: The Lift-and-Hover levers (part B) are fixed into openings at each end of the cutter bar and it is essential they
are installed facing the correct way or they can damage the internal mechanism when tightened in place.

Ensure the flat face of the lever is facing to the centre of the
unit.
Insert the handle between the body of the cutter bar and the
steel plate that can be seen within opening.
TIP: You can use the 3mm Allen key to move the steel plate
within the opening if you are struggling to insert the handle.

Use the 5mm Allen (hex) key and insert it into highlighted
section. Tighten fully.
Do this firmly
Repeat these steps on the other end again ensuring the flat face
of the lever is facing to the centre of the unit and the handle is
inserted between the body of the cutter bar and the steel plate .
Tighten the fixing screw firmly.

3.2 Removing tool head
Pull and remove end stop.
Slide the cutting head to the right.
Gently lift to remove the cutter head, then replace end stop.

3.3 Inserting blade into tool head
Undo the highlighted knob to remove the magnetic blade
clamping plate.
Pull the magnetic blade clamping plate away from the cutting
head.

Insert a Graphik blade, check it is facing the correct way for your
desired direction of cutting. Place the small pin in the hole at the
top of the blade and align with the edge of the clamping plate.
Replace the blade clamping plate onto the blade holder but do
not tighten fully until the blade depth has been set (see how to
adjust the blade depth >).
Repeat on the other blade holder if required.
