Seedling Mode Cultivation
4.2.1 Vegetable mode cultivation
4.2.1.1 Components to start cultivating
Fig.1: Some accessories to start cultivations
Self-prepared apparatus:
Notes:
1) If the water is level too high; the water level can be adjusted during the planting process, use a
water suction device to pump the water to a suitable water level. (Want to know the pumping cycle,
please turn to page XXVI, "note" "pumping week period")
2) Please use tap water / mineral water only. Do not use rain-water / boiled water / alcohol, etc.

(1) Separate the planting sponge at the pre-cut line. (Figure 2)
(2) Put the planting sponge into water, soak it well.
(3) Squeeze the sponge 3-5 times softly in the water, release the air and absorb enough water.

ii. To start, plant the 1st batch of seedling in 18 baskets/pots (one seed per basket).
iii. Plant the 2nd batch of seedling 5 days later, which would also be one seed per basket, 18
baskets in total.
iv. Do not plant the seed too deep so that seed abscission can take place.
v. Water should be added to the nursery box, level of water should be 50% height of the
sponge.
vi. Water level should not be higher than the seed, seed may rot because of long soaking
time.

4.2.1.4 Prepare the Tray
