Part 1: Welcome to SurgiSuite
The SurgiSuite Multi-functional Surgery Platform includes:
(1) easy to clean, chemical resistant base
(1) stainless steal plate (surrounding surgical area)
(1) far infrared warming pad
(1) far infrared warming pad controller
(2) magnetic nose cone/intubation tubing stabilizers, 1-small and 1-large
(4) magnetic limb positioners (used with elastic wire)
(1) elastic wire positioner (1-meter)
(1) detachable procedure bowl
(5) replacement surgical field covers
The SurgiSuite Multi-functional Surgery Platform has an easy-to-clean, chemical
resistant base which includes a channel for collecting fluids discarded during surgical
operations.
The surgical area is surrounded by a ferro-magnetic stainless steel plate, incorporating
a window to allow for warming of the animal during a surgical procedure. The surgical
field and warming pad are protected by a plastic cover.

Part 2: Getting Started
System Assembly
Procedure Bowl
The procedure bowl included with each platform can be used for quick access to gauze,
cotton-tip applicators or to hold fluids. Each corner can accommodate multiple bowls.
Attach the bowl to the surgery board by unscrewing one of the feet on the surgical
board, then placing the mounting tab onto the screw and replacing the foot. The
procedure bowl mounting tab should be positioned between the foot and the bottom of
the surgery platform.
Magnetic Fixators (Optional)
Optional retractor wires and tips provide maximum control with minimum clutter.
Retractor wires lock into fixators to allow both linear and rotational adjustment over the
entire length of the wire. Tips can be locked onto a wire for static retraction, or axed
to an elastic wire to form a dynamic retractor. Retractor wires engage and lock into the
fixator jaws at the desired elevation. One end of the wire is formed in a loop to provide
grip for a gloved hand and the other end is formed into a right angle hook that can
retract on its own or lock to a range of retractor tips. The wires can also be reformed to
create restraints or engage other lab apparatus that need to be secured in the surgical
field.
The fixators can be placed securely along the magnetic plate as desired. To attach the
retractors to the fixators, depress the top of the fixator to open the slots. Insert either
the included latex elastomer or a wire retractor handle and attach a retractor tip, as
shown below.
LED Lighting and Magnification (Optional)
An optional LED Lighting and Magnification Kit, includes 3 flexible LED lights, clip-on
magnifier and a USB power strip. The USB strip slides securely onto any side of the
SurgiSuite platform. Use the included adapter to power the USB strip, and attach up to
7 USB accessories into the outlets along the top of the strip. Each outlet has its own on/
o switch to allow for a customized set up.
The clip-on magnifier oers 2x magnification and a 6x inset and can be clipped on any
side of the surgery board.

Part 3: Animal Warming
Setting Up the Far Infrared Warming Controller
The Far Infrared Warming Pad Controller is designed to regulate percent power to the
warming pad.
1. Connect the power supply to the back of the controller and flip the power
switch to “On”.
2. Connect the far infrared warming pad to the “Pad Power” connection on the
back of the controller.
3. Remove the surgical field cover and stainless steel plate from the SurgiSuite
platform. Insert the pad sensor through the slot in the upper left corner of the
platform. If using SurgiSuite Large, insert the sensor through the slot in the
upper center of the platform. Secure the sensor to the center of the warming
pad with tape. Reinstall the stainless steel plate and surgical field cover.
4. Adjust percent power to the pad using the plus and minus buttons.
5. Position the animal in the center of the pad directly over the pad sensor.
NOTE: The “Pad Temperature” is not an indication of “Animal” temperature.
This system is designed to adjust pad warming and show pad temperature.

Part 4: Maintenance and Troubleshooting
SurgiSuite Cleaning Instructions
The recommended cleaning method depends upon whether or not you are using a
sterile surgical drape during your animal procedures.
With Sterile Surgical Drape:
We recommend using the SurgiSuite with a sterile surgical drape. Drapes are considered
disposable and you should use a new drape for each procedure. As a precaution, wipe
the board and accessories with an approved cleaning agent between uses.
Without Sterile Surgical Drape:
If you do not use a surgical drape, clean the board and accessories fully between animal
procedures and after each use.
To disassemble the board for easy cleaning:
Remove the USB strip with lights from the back of the board.
Remove all magnets, retractors, and accessories.
Remove the black screws from all four corners.
Remove the top overlay, metal plate, and warming pad.
Wipe all parts with an approved cleaning agent, and let dry before reassembling.
Recommended Cleaning and Disinfecting Agents
We suggest cleaning the SurgiSuite and accessories with one of these cleaning agents:
• 2% Glutaraldehyde (Cidex, Abcocide)
• 8% Formaldehyde / 70% alcohol
• 7% stabilized hydrogen peroxides (Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide,
Virox STF, Sporox).
• 7.35% hydrogen peroxide / 0.23% peracetic acid (EndoSpor plus)
• 1:5 Chlorine dioxide solution (Clidox)
• 1.37% Sodium hypochlorite (Alcide)

follow manufacturer’s recommendations.
Important: Do not autoclave the SurgiSuite or accessories.

Far Infrared Controller Cleaning Instructions
• Use a surgical field cover to prevent soiling the warming pad.
• Wipe the controller and warming pad with a damp cloth if needed. Never
saturate the warming pad.
• Clean the sensor with germicidal or antiseptic soap and water. Do not use
organic solvents or alcohol.

Product Warranty
The SurgiSuite has a one (1) year warranty including all parts and labor charges. This warranty does not
cover damage by any cause including, but not limited to, any malfunction, defect or failure caused by
or resulting from unauthorized service or parts, improper maintenance, operation contrary to furnished
instructions, shipping or transit accidents, modifications or repair by the user, harsh environments, misuse,
neglect, abuse, accident, incorrect line voltage, fire, flood, other natural disasters, or normal wear and
tear. Changes or modifications not approved by Kent Scientific Corporation could void the warranty.
The foregoing is in lieu of all other expressed warranties. Kent Scientific Corporation does not assume or
authorize any party to assume for it any other obligation or liability.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Should you experience diculty with the SurgiSuite, our Technical Support Group will assist you in
trouble-shooting and determining if the product needs to be returned to our facility. We will issue you a
Return Manufacturer Authorization (RMA) number before the product is shipped back for repair. It is at
the discretion of the manufacturer to replace or repair a defective part or product. Please call Customer
Service at 888-572-8887 to obtain a Return Manufacturer Authorization number. Shipments without a
RMA number will not be accepted. Please note that after our 30-day return policy period ends, we will be
happy to assist you with your application, but cannot issue any credit or refund for a returned SurgiSuite.
Prior to shipment, please clean and decontaminate the product of any chemical, biological, or isotopic
contamination. Please include a completed Product Return Form with the shipment. The form can be
