Introduction
Read all safety and operation instructions before installing and using your
Bluetooth car kit.
Warning: To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not expose this car kit
to water or moisture.
Important Safety Instructions
1. Do not expose the BTC455 to liquid, moisture or areas of high humidity.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the BTC455 as they may damage the
unit. Always unplug and power o the unit before cleaning.
3. Do not expose the BTC455 to extremely high or low temperatures.
4. Do not attempt to open or modify the BTC455 in any way.
5. Always dispose of the packaging and unit in accordance with the local
regulations and in a responsible manner.

Features
1. Seamlessly stream music from any Bluetooth capable device
2. Supports Hands-free calling, Stereo music and Siri / voice commands via
Bluetooth (features may vary depending on the connecting device)
3. Connect two devices at the same time using Bluetooth Multipoint

6. Charge your device while listening to music using the built-in USB port
Setting up the Car Kit
1. Clean the back of the receiver unit and the position in your car where you
want to install the receiver.
2. Peel one side of the adhesive disc and place on back of the receiver unit.
Peel other side of adhesive disc and place the receiver in ideal position in
the car.

3. Plug the car kit’s 3.5mm cable
into the AUX input audio jack
on the car stereo. Adjust your
car stereo’s settings to AUX
input.
4. Plug the car power adapter
into the car.
Operation
1. Turning BTC455 On and O
The BTC455 car kit will automatically power on when the car is switched on and
in most vehicles will power o when the vehicle is switched o.
NOTE: In some vehicles, power is supplied to the 12V accessory port even after
the vehicle is o and the key has been removed. In such cases, the BTC455 will

continue to consume minimal power. Users may unplug the cigarette lighter
plug manually to avoid any power drain at all.
2. Adjusting Volume
Use car stereo controls to adjust volume levels.
3. Bluetooth Pairing to One (or First) Device
a. The BTC455 Car kit will automatically enter pairing mode when powered
on for the rst time. If it does not enter pairing mode automatically, press
and hold the multifunction button for 8 seconds. The LED will begin to
alternately ash red and blue.
NOTE: If pairing is not completed within two minutes, pairing mode will time
out on the BTC455. Follow the instruction in Step 1 above to enter pairing mode
manually.
b. Activate the Bluetooth function on the device that you wish to connect,
then search for and pair to the BTC455.
For iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth (On), then select the Kinivo BTC455 to pair the
car kit.
For Android smartphones and tablets
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth (On), then select Scan for devices. Select the

For all other devices
Please follow your devices’ instructions on how to perform Bluetooth pairing.
a. If asked for a PIN or Passcode, enter “0000”(four zeros).
b. After the initial setup is complete, the BTC455 will automatically reconnect
to your device when it is powered on and your device is in range.
4. Bluetooth Pairing to Second Device (Multipoint)
The Kinivo BTC455 supports Bluetooth Multipoint and can be connected with
two devices at the same time. Once you have successfully paired your rst
Bluetooth device with the BTC455, follow the steps below to pair a second
device.
1. Enter pairing mode on the BTC455 by pressing and holding the
multifunction button for 8 seconds. The LED will begin to alternately ash
red and blue.
2. Activate Bluetooth on the second device, then search for and pair to the
BTC455.
3. Power cycle the BTC455 (unplug and replug the cigarette lighter plug) - it
should now connect to both devices.

5. Charging USB Devices
Simply connect the USB charging cable (not included) of your mobile device to
the USB port on the car kit power adapter.

1. Press and hold multifunction button for 1 to
2 seconds. You will hear a beep prompt.
2. Give voice command.
Redial last number Press and release the multifunction button

8. Factory Reset
WARNING: Performing a factory reset on the BTC455 will delete any previous
pairings and will restore the unit to factory default settings. Only perform this if
you are experiencing any issues with the product.
Press and hold the previous and next song buttons simultaneously for 5
to 7 seconds.
The BTC455 will make two audible beeps and the LED will blink twice.
The next time the BTC455 is powered on, it will automatically enter pairing
mode.

Note: After factory reset, you will need to remove the previous BTC455 pairing
from your Bluetooth device and repeat the pairing process.
Troubleshooting
1. Unable to pair to device / Device no longer connects
to BTC455
Ensure that the BTC455 car kit is in pairing mode by pressing and holding the
multifunction button for 8 seconds (alternating blinking red and blue LED). Now
open the Bluetooth conguration on the device you are trying to pair and scan
for Bluetooth devices. You should see the BTC455 - proceed to pair and connect
the car kit.
Please refer to the Operation section for Bluetooth Pairing.
2. No audio when playing music or when using phone
Please make sure of all of the following:
Check if the Bluetooth connection between your phone (or other Bluetooth
capable device) and the BTC455 is active.
Ensure that the car kit’s 3.5mm is plugged into the AUX port on your car
stereo.

Make sure the that the input setting on the car stereo is set to AUX input.
Adjust the car stereo volume and phone volume.
If at any point you are unable to resolve your issue, you can contact Kinivo

3. Audio from my connected device sounds choppy after
the BTC455 is powered on
The BTC455 has a Multipoint feature that automatically connects to two devices
via Bluetooth. Multipoint will search for the second device within 30 seconds
of being powered on and may cause the audio to be choppy momentarily. This
issue will resolve itself after the devices have successfully connected.

1. What is the BTC455 car kit compatible with?
In general, the BTC455 car kit will work with devices that support the A2DP
(Advanced Audio Distribution Prole), HSP (Headset Prole), HFP (Hands-free
Prole), and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Prole) Bluetooth proles. A
list of common devices that support these Bluetooth proles:

Tablets – Windows, Apple, Android, Kindle Fire HD

2. How many Bluetooth connections will the BTC455 car
kit remember?
The BTC455 will remember up to four previous Bluetooth connections and it can
connect to up to 2 devices simultaneously (Multipoint).
3. Why do I hear an electrical humming noise in my car
while using BTC455?
Some cars have an electrical humming noise that is caused by the electrical
system of the cars. To eliminate the noise, we recommend that you use a 3.5mm
ground loop isolator.
4. Why does the audio from my connected device sound
choppy after BTC455 is powered on (for the rst 30
seconds).
The BTC455 has a Multipoint feature that automatically connects to 2 devices
via Bluetooth. This feature will search roughly within 30 sec for the 2nd device
if a 2nd device has been paired/connected on this unit. The choppy audio is the

result of this search operation. You should experience regular audio beyond the
rst 30 seconds (once the search is completed).
5. How to factory reset the unit?
Simultaneously hold the next and previous song buttons for about 5 sec. You’ll
hear 2 tone and 2 LED blink - meaning the unit has been reset.
6. Help! I’m unable to use to the car kit. What should I do?

1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty.
Kinivo hereby warrants to the customer of record that this product is in good-
working condition and free from defects in material or workmanship under
normal use for a duration of 1 year after the date of purchase. The product has
been tested to meet the highest quality standards in each testing category. In
the unlikely event that the product proves to be defective, Kinivo will repair or
replace the product free of charge. If replacement is required and if Kinivo then
no longer carries the same product, then Kinivo reserves the right to substitute
the product with a replacement product of like quality and size, suitable for the
intended use.
This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the mentioned product
only, is non-transferable and does not extend to any product damaged by
misuse, natural disasters or any other circumstances beyond Kinivo’s control.
