Introduction
Read all safety and operation instructions before installing and using your
Bluetooth car kit.
Warning: To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not expose this car kit
to water or moisture.
Important Safety Instructions
1. Do not expose the BTC455 to liquid, moisture or areas of high humidity.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the BTC455 as they may damage the
unit. Always unplug and power o the unit before cleaning.
3. Do not expose the BTC455 to extremely high or low temperatures.
4. Do not attempt to open or modify the BTC455 in any way.
5. Always dispose of the packaging and unit in accordance with the local
regulations and in a responsible manner.

Features
1. Seamlessly stream music from any Bluetooth capable device
2. Supports Hands-free calling, Stereo music and Siri / voice commands via
Bluetooth (features may vary depending on the connecting device)
3. Connect two devices at the same time using Bluetooth Multipoint
4. Music player controls: Play, Pause, Previous song, Next song
5. Supports Bluetooth proles: HFP, HSP, A2DP and AVRCP
6. Charge your device while listening to music using the built-in USB port
Setting up the Car Kit
1. Clean the back of the receiver unit and the position in your car where you
want to install the receiver.
2. Peel one side of the adhesive disc and place on back of the receiver unit.
Peel other side of adhesive disc and place the receiver in ideal position in
the car.

3. Plug the car kit’s 3.5mm cable
into the AUX input audio jack
on the car stereo. Adjust your
car stereo’s settings to AUX
input.
4. Plug the car power adapter
into the car.
Operation
1. Turning BTC455 On and O
The BTC455 car kit will automatically power on when the car is switched on and
in most vehicles will power o when the vehicle is switched o.
NOTE: In some vehicles, power is supplied to the 12V accessory port even after
the vehicle is o and the key has been removed. In such cases, the BTC455 will

continue to consume minimal power. Users may unplug the cigarette lighter
plug manually to avoid any power drain at all.
2. Adjusting Volume
Use car stereo controls to adjust volume levels.
3. Bluetooth Pairing to One (or First) Device
a. The BTC455 Car kit will automatically enter pairing mode when powered
on for the rst time. If it does not enter pairing mode automatically, press
and hold the multifunction button for 8 seconds. The LED will begin to
alternately ash red and blue.
NOTE: If pairing is not completed within two minutes, pairing mode will time
out on the BTC455. Follow the instruction in Step 1 above to enter pairing mode
manually.
b. Activate the Bluetooth function on the device that you wish to connect,
then search for and pair to the BTC455.
For iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth (On), then select the Kinivo BTC455 to pair the
car kit.
For Android smartphones and tablets
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth (On), then select Scan for devices. Select the

For all other devices
Please follow your devices’ instructions on how to perform Bluetooth pairing.
a. If asked for a PIN or Passcode, enter “0000”(four zeros).
b. After the initial setup is complete, the BTC455 will automatically reconnect
to your device when it is powered on and your device is in range.
4. Bluetooth Pairing to Second Device (Multipoint)
The Kinivo BTC455 supports Bluetooth Multipoint and can be connected with
two devices at the same time. Once you have successfully paired your rst
Bluetooth device with the BTC455, follow the steps below to pair a second
device.
1. Enter pairing mode on the BTC455 by pressing and holding the
multifunction button for 8 seconds. The LED will begin to alternately ash
red and blue.
2. Activate Bluetooth on the second device, then search for and pair to the
BTC455.
3. Power cycle the BTC455 (unplug and replug the cigarette lighter plug) - it
should now connect to both devices.

5. Charging USB Devices
Simply connect the USB charging cable (not included) of your mobile device to
the USB port on the car kit power adapter.

To use this feature your mobile device must
support the voice dialing function.
1. Press and hold multifunction button for 1 to
2 seconds. You will hear a beep prompt.
2. Give voice command.
Redial last number Press and release the multifunction button
twice. (Double click)
Answer call
End call Press multifunction button
Reject incoming call
When no call is active, press and hold the
multifunction button for 2 seconds to reject an
incoming call
Answer second
incoming call
While in a phone call and when a second call
is incoming, press and hold the multifunction
button for 2 seconds
