protectsyourbatteryfromoverchargebythesolarpanelorover‐dischargethroughtheDC
loadconnected.

oftheunitlikeDClightbulbsandsmallDCappliances.Connectingloadswithhighsurge
currentorloadswithcurrenthigherthantheratedcurrentoftheunit,willpermanently
damagetheunitandwillnotbecoveredbythewarranty.HeavydutyloadslikeInverters
orDCVacuumCleanersshouldbeconnecteddirectlytothebatteryterminals.
•Toselectbatterytype,usethejumperprovidedtoconnectTer minal6and7forcharging
‘Sealed’typeofbatteryanddonotusethejumperfor‘Flooded’typesofbattery.
‘Charging’greenindicatorstartstoturnsONwhenitsensesthesolarpanelprovidesmore
thanapproximately3.5Vtoletyouknowthesolarpanelworks.WithlowSolarpanel
voltage,itmaynothavesufficientenergytochargethebattery.TheSolarpanelhasto
haveatleast0.2to0.3Vabovethebatteryvoltageinordertochargethebattery.
‘LoadDisconnect’indicatorturnsONwhenbatterychargeislowandtheLoadOutputis
disconnectedfromthebattery.TheLoadOutputwillautomaticallyreconnectwhenthe
batteryvoltageischargedtoabove12.6V.

5. UnderstandingtheUnitSetting
SC1210LDandSC1220LD:
Theunitisfullyautomatic;nootherunitsettingisrequiredoncethebatterytype(Sealed
LeadAcidorFlooded)issetanditisinstalledproperly.Itisrecommendedtoverifythe
stateofchargeofthebatteryregularlyandtoverifythattheloadconnectedtotheunitis
notoverratedfortheunit.Itisalsorecommendedtoverifythatthepowerconsumption
ontheloadislessthatthesolarpanelcanproduce.
SCD1230:
Theunithasabuilt‐inclockandtheDCLoadisprogrammabletobeturnedONandOFF
automaticallyeachdaythroughtheunitsetting(seeAppendixformoredetails).TheDC
LoadcanalsobeswitchedtoONorOFFmanuallyusingthe‘Enter’button.TheDigital
displayshowschargingstatus,solarpanelvoltage,batterychargingcurrent,DCLoad
currentanderror/warningcode.

7. OperationandMaintenance
Theunitisfullyautomaticandnounitsettingisrequiredonceitisinstalledproperly.Itis
recommendedtoverifythestateofchargeofthebatteryregularlyandtoverifythatthe
loadconnectedtotheunitisnotoverratedfortheunit.Itisalsorecommendedtoverify
thatthepowerconsumptionontheloadislessthatthesolarpanelcanproduce.
Thefollowingperiodicinspectionsandmaintenancetasksarehighlyrecommendedforbest
performance.
•Checkforanyrustingorcorrosionaroundthebatteryterminals
•Verifythesolarpanelsandloadsconnecteddonotexceedtheunitrating
•Tightenalltheterminalscrewsandinspectforanyloose,brokenorburntwire
connections.
•Ensuresolarpanelismountedproperlyandisplacedintherightposition.Checkforany
dirt,debrisandcorrosiononthepanel.
•Periodicallycleansolarpanelswithwateranddonotusechemicals
8. Troubleshooting
NoOutputatDCLoad:
zCheckDCloadterminalconnection.Connectionmaybelooseordisconnected.For
SCD1230,checkthe‘ClockOFF’icon.TheDCloadmaybeturnedOFFautomaticallybythe
unitsetting.
zCheckconnectionpolarity.Reversepolarityonanyterminalswilldamageunitandisnot
coveredbywarranty.
zCheckthebatteryvoltage:
−ForSC1210LDandSC1220LDmodels,checkthatthe‘Loaddisconnect’LEDisON.Verify
batteryvoltageisabove12.6V.
−ForSCD1230,checkforanyerrorcodeonthedisplay.Verifybatteryvoltage.Checkifthe
timeandtheautomaticON/OFFfunctionisactive.
Batterydidnotcharge:

11.Warranty
TwoYearsLimitedWarranty
Thelimitedwarrantyprogramistheonlyonethatappliestothisunit,anditsetsforthallthe
responsibilitiesofKISAE.Thereisnootherwarranty,otherthanthosedescribedherein.Any
impliedwarrantyofmerchantabilityoffitnessforaparticularpurposeonthisunitislimitedin
durationtothedurationofthiswarranty.Thisunitiswarranted,totheoriginalpurchaseronly,
tobefreeofdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipforoneyearfromthedateofpurchase
withoutadditionalcharge.Thewarrantydoesnotextendtosubsequentpurchasersorusers.
Manufacturerwillnotberesponsibleforanyamountofdamageinexcessoftheretail
purchasepriceoftheunitunderanycircumstances.Incidentalandconsequentialdamages
arespecificallyexcludedfromcoverageunderthiswarranty.Thisunitisnotintendedfor
commercialuse.Thiswarrantydoesnotapplytodamagetounitsfrommisuseorincorrect

Return/RepairPolicy:

toretailstore.Afterspeakingtoacustomerservicerepresentative,ifproductsaredeemed
non‐workingormalfunctioning,theproductmaybereturnedtothepurchasingstorewithin
30daysoforiginalpurchase.Anydefectiveunitthatisreturnedtomanufacturerwithin30
daysofthedateofpurchasewillbereplacedfreeofcharge.Ifsuchaunitisreturnedmore
than30daysbutlessthanoneyearfromthepurchasedate,manufacturerwillrepairtheunit
or,atitsoption,replaceit,freeofcharge.Iftheunitisrepaired,neworreconditioned
replacementpartsmaybeused,atmanufacturer’soption.Aunitmaybereplacedwithanew
