Codes - The Basics
• The KitLock has four code levels available:
i﴿ Master Code
ii﴿ Sub‐Master Code
iii﴿ User Code
iv﴿ Technician Code
• The KitLock is supplied with two factory set codes:
Master Code: 11335577
User Code: 2244
• When fitted, immediately change
the Master Code and User Code.
• All Master Codes and Sub‐Master Codes are 8 digits long.
• All User Codes are 4 digits long.
• All Technician Codes are 6 digits long.
• The lock ‘open’ time is set at 4 seconds.
Functions
Before programming, select the most appropriate function for the application: A﴿ or B﴿ ‐ See special Master Code set up commands.
A﴿ PRIVATE USE Important Note: This is the default function and is already pre‐programmed in new locks.
This is the most common function and is used where the same code will be repeatedly used.
B﴿ PUBLIC USE
The user enters their own personal four‐digit code.
This locks the lock. The same code is entered once only to open the lock before being erased and ready for the next new user.
This function is used for short term, multi occupancy applications, e.g. a locker in a leisure centre.
Operating Instructions
Note: The KitLock has a 10 button keypad and a # button.
The # button is hidden beneath the handle when in the locked position.

MASTER CODE
The Master Code can:
Open the lock
Change the Master Code
Set / Change / Delete the Sub‐Masterand User Code
Select between Private andPublic Functions
Activate/deactivate Technician Code
SUB‐MASTER CODE
The Sub‐Master Code can:
Open the lock
Change the Sub‐Master
Set / Change / Delete / the User Code
USER CODE
The User Code can:
Open the lock
Change the User Code
•Blue LED = Code accepted
•Red LED = Code rejected
TECHNICIAN CODE
The Technician Code can:
Open the lock
A code cannot be programmed into morethan one level.
LOST CODE PROCEDURE
Note:The procedure requires the door tobe open
Remove the rear‐fixing bolt andswing the lock over the edge of thedoor to reveal the batterycompartment.
Remove one battery.
Press and hold the 1 button, replacethe battery, the Blue LED will flashtwice, release the 1 button. Withinthree seconds press the 1 buttonthree times. The
Blue LED will flashtwice and the lock will have revertedto the factory Master Code 11335577and all other stored settings will beerased.
PENALTY TIME
Entering three incorrect codes willcause the lock to shutdown for 10seconds.
BATTERY POWER
The KitLock should provide well inexcess of 15,000 openings, of 4seconds each, from 2 x AAA 1.5v cells.
LOW BATTERY
When the battery power is low the•Red LED will flash 3 times beforethe•Blue LED lights, accepting thecode. Fit new batteries as soon as thishappens.
The lock will operate for 100times with low battery.

BATTERY FAILURE OVERRIDE
The KitLock has been designed so anexternal PP3 battery can be placed againstthe contact points surrounding the Blueand Red LED’s so the lock can be
openedto replace the batteries should they fail.
The procedure is as follows:
Place the contact points of the PP3battery against the contact pointssurrounding the Blue and Red LED’s.
The positive + PP3 terminal against theRed LED contact point and the negative– PP3 terminal against the Blue LED.
Enter the Master Code.
The motor will withdraw the locking pinallowing the lock to be opened.
Fit new batteries by removing theupper fixing bolt and swinging the lockdown over the edge of the door. Refitthe lock.
Programming
To program – the lock must be in theopen position with the#button visible.Every program command must commenceby pressing the # button, followed
byeither the Master Code, Sub‐Master Codeor User Code.

Factory set User Code 2244 will now work repeatedly until reprogrammed.
SET B﴿ PUBLIC USE – SINGLE CODE ENTRY ﴾DEFAULT﴿

Result: The lock will now remain open until the next user enters their own personal code into the lock as follows:

Step 1 – Enter 4 digit code•Close the locker which will now be locked.
Step 2 – Enter the same 4 digit code••the lock will now open and remain open until next 4 digit code is entered.
SET B﴿ PUBLIC USE – DOUBLE CODE ENTRY

Result: The lock will now remain open until the next user enters their own personal code into the lock as follows:
Step 1 – Enter 4 digit code•Repeat 4 digit code••
Close the locker which will now be locked.
Step 2 – Enter the same 4 digit code••the lock will now open and remain open until next 4 digit code is entered as Step 1.
Note: When locked in this mode•LED will flash every 5 seconds to indicate the locker is locked.
SET TECHNICIAN CODE

Result: The lock is automatically set into B﴿ Public Use Function and allows the programmed Technician Code to open the lock WITHOUT the entered single User
Code being erased.
Note: If lock is opened with a Master Code the User Code will be erased.

Special Notes
Please read carefully:
• Before installing the lock, load the batteries and familiarise yourself with the operation and programming.
• The handle will not turn until you enter the factory default Master Code 11335577 or the User Code 2244.
• Please see programming guide to set your own codes.
• Your KitLock is supplied ready to fit to doors up to 19mm ﴾3∕4”﴿ thick. For doors between 19mm ﴾3∕4”﴿ and 25mm ﴾1”﴿ thick, you will need to install the 28.5mm ﴾1
1∕8”﴿ spare spindle ﴾see below﴿. A 9mm ﴾3∕8”﴿ spindle is also included for sheet metal doors ﴾see below﴿.
The KitLock can be fitted to:
A Cabinets, cupboards and lockers etc as a direct replacement for existing cam locks.
B It can also be fitted easily to cupboards and cabinets that do not have an existing locking device.

Installation Guide
A Replace existing cam lock with KitLock
Step 1 Remove existing cam lock.
Step 2 Place the 16mm ﴾5∕8"﴿ template hole over the hole left by the cam lock and mark the upper fixing hole.
Step 3 Drill the 6mm ﴾1∕4"﴿ upper fixing hole.
Step 4 Fit the KitLock to the door by passing the spindle through the 16mm ﴾5∕8"﴿ hole.
Step 5 If required, from the inside of the door, pass either of the packing pieces over the spindle to centralise the lock.
Step 6 Now secure the lock by threading the large nut onto the spindle.
Step 7 Fit one of the upper fixing bolts to suit your door thickness.
Step 8 Select and fit cam using the fixing nut and locking washer. Lock nut in place by folding over washer tabs.
Step 9 Now check the operation of the lock using the factory User Code 2244.
Step 10 If the lock is functioning correctly, CHANGE THE DEFAULT MASTER CODE 11335577 and DEFAULT USER CODE 2244 and program the lock using the
programming and operating instructions enclosed.
B New Installation
Step 1 Place template on door and mark upper 6mm ﴾1∕4"﴿ hole and lower 16mm ﴾5∕8"﴿ hole.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before drilling fixing holes, please ensure the position of the KitLock when fitted will allow enough clearance for selected cam to work.
Step 2 Drill both fixing holes.
Step 3 Continue installation from step 4 to 10, above.
