The trademark hub allows for the attachment of over a dozen accessories which will turn your mixer into a pasta machine, citrus
juicer, meat grinder, ice-cream machine, vegetable slicer or even a sausage maker.
What is planetary mixing action?
Unique planetary mixing action allows the beater to spiral to 59 different touch-points within the bowl for quick, complete
mixing with the highest beater-to-bowl coverage in the industry.
What are the standard accessories for the KSM170 Platinum Stand Mixer?
The flat beater, dough hook, wire whisk, 4.7L glass mixing bowl.
Are the attachments and bowls Dishwasher safe?
All the bowls are dishwasher safe. All of the beaters are too, except for the Wire Whisk. The wire whisk must be hand washed to
avoid damage to the wires, and so that the alloy base does not blacken, pit or go powdery. Your warranty does not cover
damage to the wire whisk if it is washed in a dishwasher.
What is the life expectancy of a KitchenAid Stand Mixer?
An exact number of years is too difficult to predict. To ensure your mixer lasts for many years follow the guidelines in your Use
and Care Guide and keep your mixer properly maintained.
How long can I run my Stand Mixer?
The length of time to operate the Stand Mixer depends on the size of the load and the speed being used.
• For heavy loads, use a slow speed, 5-8 minutes is the maximum.
• When kneading bread dough or pasta dough, run the Stand Mixer 4-5 minutes. The bread dough will be processed well
before that time. Please do not exceed speed 2.
What is the maximum weight capacity of the KSM170 Platinum Stand Mixer?
The maximum capacity is 1.3kg (combined total weight of all ingredients). Exceeding 1.3kg will damage the machine.
I lost the KitchenAid stainless steel hub cover/attachment screw for my Stand Mixer
If you have misplaced your hub cover (badge) on your KitchenAid Stand Mixer, or the attachment screw
(thumb screw) that holds it in place; please call your local KitchenAid Stockist or Repairer.
