I. Product Information
GB
Dear customer,
thank you for choosing this child car seat.
All of our car seats are rigorously tested to the very latest European Sa-
fety Standards.
To reach this Standard each car seat has to pass a stringent series of
tests.
All of this ensures that you can be confident that your car seat is one of
the safest and most comfortable car seats available.
The child car seat SLF23 can be fitted on the most part of the vehi-
cles equipped with Isofix anchor points, but always in combination
with the vehicle safety belt.
To check if your car is suitable for Isofix attachment ,see the list of
compatible vehicles.
This child car seat has been designed and tested to comply with the
latest European standards for group 2 & 3 child car seats.
This child car seat has been designed for children weighing from
15 to 36 kg; (3 to 11 years of age approximately).

2
All ages given are approximate because all children grow at different
rates ; the weights given are the main safety issue.
II. Notice
SLF23 is approved for two different installation methods:
Method 1: UNIVERSAL category, the child and the child car seat are
secured through the vehicle's 3 point safety belt with retractor.
Method 2: SEMI-UNIVERSAL category, the child car seat is secured to
the vehicle’s seat by the Isofix connectors, while the child is secured
with the vehicle's safety seat belt (see the list of compatible vehicles).
Method 1
UNIVERSAL category, use of the vehicle's 3 point safety belt only.
This is a“Universal”child restraint. It is approved to ECE Regulation 44/
04 for general use in vehicles and will fit most, but not all, car seats.
Proper installation is more easily achieved when the vehicle manual
shows that this is suitable for installation of“Universal”category child
restraint devices for the corresponding age groups (in this case, groups
2 and 3).
This child restraint has been declared“Universal”under more stringent
conditions than those applied to earlier products which do not carry
this notice.
If in doubt, contact either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
Only suitable if the vehicle is fitted with a 3-point seat belts with retrac-
tor, approved to UN/ECE No.16 or other equivalent standards.
Method 2
SEMI-UNIVERSAL category, use of safety belts and Isofix connectors.
SLF23 is a”Semi-universal”child car seat that may be installed on the
vehicle seats listed in the attached compatible vehicles list.
It is possible that other vehicles not listed in the list are suitable for this
child car seat.
When in doubt, contact your local dealer or Segrall srl.

Things to do:
Read these instructions carefully before fitting your child car seat.
Remember, an incorrect installation could be dangerous.
Save these instruction in a safe place, preferably with the child car seat
or in the vehicle so that you can find them for future reference.
Once the child car seat is fitted, ensure that no parts of the seat or vehi-
cle seat belt can get trapped by the moving parts of the vehicle’s seat
or the vehicle’s door.
Make sure that the vehicle seat belt is tight and the child car seat is
held firmly in place, every time you use the child car seat.
Check every time you fit the child car seat that the vehicle seat belt has
not become twisted.
Each time the child is placed in the child car seat, make sure that the
seat belt is properly adjusted to the child's body and its buckle is pro-
perly secured.
III. Advises
VERY IMPORTANT: the seat belt of the vehicle MUST ALWAYS be
used to secure the child.
Isofix connectors are additional devices to fix the seat only, but
they are not meant to retain the child.
Before travelling, check that luggage or other heavy or sharp objects
are secured in the car; loose objects are liable to cause injury in the
event of an accident.
The child car seat must always be secured with the safety belts and
(when it’s possible) , with the Isofix connectors, even when not being
used to transport a child to prevent it from being thrown about in an
accident.
When travelling with other passengers using both the front and rear
seats, the lighter occupant should be in the rear of the vehicle and the
heavier occupant in the front passenger seat.

4
It is therefore recommended that the child car seat, when not in use,is
covered by for example a towel.
This prevents components, particularly those attached to the child car
seat becoming hot and burning the child.
Things not to do:
Never use the child car seat without fastening the safety belts ,as
described in these fitting instructions.
VERY IMPORTANT: Never install the child car seat by the Isofix con-
nectors only. They ALWAYS must be used in combination with the
car seat safety belts.
Never place any padding between the base of the child car seat and the
vehicles seat as it could impair the safety of the child car seat.
Do not add or modify this product in any way.
Never use spare parts that are not recommended or supplied by the
manufacturer.
Do not leave a child in the child car seat unattended at any time.
Do not allow children to play with the child car seat.
This child car seat must not be used without its fabric cover.
The seat cover should not be replaced with any other than the one re-
commended by the manufacturer, because the cover constitutes an in-
tegral part of the restraint.
Do not allow your child car seat to come into contact with corrosive
substances e.g. battery acid.
Never use this seat if it has been in an accident,or it has badly worn out.
Car interiors can become very hot when left in direct sunlight.
In the event of an emergency
In case of an emergency your child can be released quickly by pressing
the red button on the buckle of the car safety belt.
If your child car seat has been involved in an accident, you MUST dispose
of it and purchase a new one.
Even if your child car seat shows no signs of damage, there may be
weakness that you are unable to see.

IV. Fitting Instructions
If this child car seat is involved in another accident it may fail to pro-
tect your child. For this reason we suggest that you never use or pur-
chase a second hand child car seat.
Checking the vehicle seat belt
WARNING: only use the child car seat in the forward facing position.
Your child car seat must only be installed forward facing using a three
point seatbelt (1) (2), with retractor, in the front or rear passenger seats
of the vehicle ( Fig.2) .
SLF 23 can be installed on vehicle seats equipped with Isofix anchor
points ( see vehicle application list) but ALWAYS in combination with
the vehicle’s safety belt.
Checking the seat belt buckle position.
The position of the seat belt buckle can affect the stability of the child
safety seat.
In case of an accident this could stop the child car seat from protecting
your child as well as it should. If the buckle lies across the seat as shown
in the picture, this child safety seat is not suitable for use with this seat
belt or vehicle ( Fig.3) .
Verify that the seat on which you intend to install the child car seat is
suitable for this use,in particular concerning the space and the correct
position of the seat belt (fig.4).

6
Verify that the seat belt is not twisted and that the excess of seat belt is
recovered by the seat belt retractor in the different conditions of regu-
lation. In case of doubt contact the retailer or the manufacturer.
ATTENTION: The backrest of the child car seat has to adhere to the seat
of the vehicle (Fig.5). If necessary, remove the car seat headrest.
Use of the child car seat according to Method 1
Install the child car seat on the appropriate vehicle seat.
Make sure the vehicle seat is upright and in its rearmost position.
After placing the child in the child car seat, fasten the vehicle safety belt,
passing the lap and diagonal sections of the safety belt, respectively,
over the pelvis and the chest of the child (Fig.6 ).
The diagonal section of the safety belt part must be inserted in the
backrest belt-guide above the child's shoulder.
Always ensure the excess length of safety belt is recovered by the re-
tractor, accompanying the diagonal section of the safety belt in an up-
ward direction, making sure it is not twisted.
Use of the child car seat according to Method 2
SLF 23 comes with plastic guides (that you can use should your vehicle
not have any) so as to guide the Isofix connectors in their appropriate
position in correspondence with your car seats' anchorage points .
Apply the two plastic guides onto the Isofix anchoring points ( Fig.9).
Insert the two Isofix connectors in the guides ( Fig.10).
Click both Isofix connectors to the Iso-fix anchor points ( Fig.11) .
IMPORTANT: Make sure that both connectors are properly attached to
the Isofix anchor points (you should clearly hear two“clicks”).
When the Isofix connectors are properly attached, the safety indicator (A)
on each side of the Isofix connectors group is completely green( Fig.11) .
Complete the installation by using the car safety belts, following the
instructions indicated above in Method 1 .
To release the Isofix connectors ( Fig.12 ):
Press both release devices (B) as shown in the illustration.
To operate in a better condition, you may move the backrest slightly
upwards.

7
GB
Adjusting the backrest height (Fig.7-8)
Make sure that the diagonal section of the safety belt passes over the
child's shoulder, but not in front of his neck (Fig.8).
To reach the right belt position, you can easily adjust the backrest
height by following these operations:
To raise the backrest:
Pull the backrest upwards, holding it by the top rear handle, until the
upper part of the diagonal safety belt is properly positioned above the
child's shoulder.
To lower the backrest:
Pull the backrest slightly upwards, then push the backrest adjustment
button (1) on the top of the backrest and hold ( Fig.7).
Lower the backrest until the diagonal car seat belt section is in the right
position on child's shoulder ( Fig.8) .
Release the backrest adjustment button (1) to lock the backrest in
position.
V. Final Check-List
1 Check that both Isofix connectors, when used, are properly attached
to the Isofix anchor points.
2 Check that the vehicles seat belt is correctly fitted around the child’s
body and the child car seat.
3 Check that the vehicle’s seat belt has not become twisted or trapped
in any way.
4 Check that the vehicle’s seat belt is fully tightened and the excess
length is recovered by the vehicle safety belt retractor.
5 Check regularly every part of the child car seat for possible damage.
6 Check the correct operation of all components.

8
Remember: Although this child seat has been designed and approved
by the latest ECE Standards, an incorrect installation or use may not
guarantee your child in case of accident.
So,always follow the check list above before starting any journey with
the car seat fitted in your vehicle. Even when the car seat has been left
fitted in the vehicle,
Always check that the vehicle’s seat belt is correctly positioned before
placing your child in the SLF 23 child car seat.
