1. Einleitung
Vor Inbetriebnahme Ihres Presswerkzeu-
ges lesen Sie sich die Bedienungsanlei-
tung sorgfältig durch.
Benutzen Sie dieses Werkzeug ausschließlich für den
bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch unter Berücksichtigung
der gültigen Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvorschrif-
ten.
Diese Bedienungsanleitung ist während der gesamten
Lebensdauer des Werkzeuges mitzuführen.
Der Betreiber muß
• dem Bediener die Betriebsanleitung zugänglich
machen und
• sich vergewissern, dass der Bediener sie gelesen und
verstanden hat.
2. Gewährleistung
Unabhängig von Ihren Gewährleistungsansprüchen
gegenüber Ihrem unmittelbaren Kaufvertragspartner,
übernehmen wir eine Haftung für Sachmängel von 24
Monaten ab der Auslieferung bei uns oder bis zu 10.000
Verpressungen, je nachdem was früher erreicht wird.
Voraussetzung für unsere Haftung ist eine sachgemäße
Bedienung und die Einhaltung der geforderten regelmä-
ßigen Wartungen des Werkzeugs durch den Werkzeug-
Kundenservice.
Unsere Sachmängelhaftung umfasst den Austausch oder
die Reparatur des mangelhaften Werkzeugs. Darüber hi-
nausgehende Ansprüche bestehen nicht, wenn wir nicht
unmittelbarer Kaufvertragspartner sind.
3. Beschreibung des elektro-hydrau-
lischen Presswerkzeuges
3.1 Beschreibung der Komponenten
Das elektro-hydraulische Werkzeug ist handgeführt und
besteht aus folgenden Komponenten:

3.2 Kurzbeschreibung der wesentlichen
Leistungsmerkmale des Werkzeuges
Sicherheitsmerkmale:
Das Presswerkzeug ist mit einem Nachlaufstopp
ausgerüstet, der den Vorschub nach Loslassen des
Bedienungsschalters sofort stoppt.
Eine eingebaute weiße LED beleuchtet den Arbeits-
bereich nach Aktivierung des Bedienungsschalters
und schaltet sich nach 10 s wieder aus. Dieses
Merkmal läßt sich auch ausschalten (siehe Be-
schreibung Seite V)
Hydraulic Pressure Check, kurz HPC, kontrolliert
den Öldruck direkt im Ölkreislauf der Werkzeuge
und sorgt so für die kontinuierlich gleichbleibende
Qualität der Verpressungen.
Bei jedem Presszyklus wird der erreichte Press-
druck über einen Drucksensor ermittelt und mit dem
geforderten Mindestwert verglichen. Bei Abwei-
chungen von dem festgelegten Arbeitsdruck ertönt
ein akustisches Warnsignal.
Funktionsmerkmale:
Das Presswerkzeug ist mit einer Doppelkolben-
pumpe ausgestattet, die durch einen schnellen Vor-
schub bis zur Berührung des Werkstücks gekenn-
zeichnet ist.
Das Presswerkzeug besitzt einen automatischen
Rücklauf, der den Kolben nach Erreichen des max.
Betriebsüberdruckes automatisch in die Ausgangs-
lage zurückfährt.
Ein manueller Rücklauf ermöglicht dem Bediener
im Falle einer Fehlpressung den Kolben in die Aus-
gangslage zurückzufahren.
Der Presskopf ist stufenlos 350° um die Längsach-
se drehbar. Dieses ermöglicht Montagen auch an
sehr schlecht zugänglichen Stellen.
Das Presswerkzeug ist mit einer Mikroprozes-
sor-Steuerung ausgestattet, die z.B. den Ladezu-
stand des Akkus angibt und eine Fehlerdiagnose
durchführt, wobei der Bediener durch unterschiedli-
che optische Warnsignale über die Art des Fehlers
informiert wird.
Energiesparfunktion durch Motorabschaltung nach
dem Pressvorgang.
Das kompakte ergonomisch geformte Gehäuse be-
steht aus 2 Komponenten. Der Griffbereich ist durch
seine Gummierung besonders rutschfest und zu-
sammen mit dem schwerpunktoptimierten Gehäuse
liegt das Werkzeug besonders gut in der Hand und
ermöglicht so ermüdungsfreies Arbeiten.
Alle Funktionen unserer Werkzeuge können über
einen Bedienknopf gesteuert werden. Dadurch be-
kommen wir eine einfache Handhabung und besse-
ren Halt als bei einer Zweiknopfbedienung.
Durch die Li-Ionen Batterien, die weder Memory
Effekt noch Selbstentladung kennen, hat der Be-
diener auch nach langen Arbeitspausen immer ein
einsatzbereites Werkzeug. Dazu kommt noch ein
geringeres Leistungsgewicht mit 50% mehr Kapa-
zität und kurzen Ladezeiten.
Das eingesetzte Öl ist ein biologisch schnell ab-
baubares und nicht wassergefährdendes Hochleis-
tungshydrauliköl und mit dem Blauen Engel ausge-
zeichnet. Das Öl ist für sehr niedrige Temperaturen
geeignet und hat exzellente Schmiereigenschaften.
Es kann mittels eines USB Adapters (Zubehör)
nach Arbeitsende ein Protokoll über die ordungsge-
mäße Funktion des Presswerkzeugs über den PC
ausgedruckt werden.

4. Hinweise zum bestimmungsge-
mäßen Gebrauch
4.1 Bedienung des Werkzeuges
Als erstes werden die für den bevorstehenden Einsatz
bereitgelegten Pressbacken (Seite IV, Bild 23) auf mögli-
che Schäden oder auf Verschmutzungen im Bereich der
Presskontur hin untersucht. Bei Fremdfabrikaten ist darü-
ber hinaus zu prüfen, ob sie für den Einsatz mit unserem
Werkzeug geeignet sind.
Der Pressvorgang wird gekennzeichnet durch das
Schliessen der Pressbacken. Durch die auf der Kolben-
stange sitzenden Antriebsrollen schließen sich die Press-
backen scherenförmig.
Achtung
Eine notwendige Bedingung für eine dauerhaft
dichte Verpressung ist, dass der Pressvorgang
immer beendet wird, d.h. die Pressbacken so-
wohl an der Spitze als auch in Höhe der Verbin-
dungslasche zusammengefahren sind.
Achtung
Die Eignung des Werkzeuges in Dimension und
Einsatzbereich (Gas/Wasser/Heizung etc.) ent-
nehmen Sie bitte den Unterlagen Ihres System-
herstellers.
Achtung
Der Pressvorgang kann jederzeit durch Loslas-
sen des Bedienungsschalters (Seite I, Bild 1.4)
unterbrochen werden.
Achtung
Nach Beendigung des Pressvorganges muß
zusätzlich noch eine optische Kontrolle vorge-
nommen werden, ob sich die Pressbacken voll-
ständig geschlossen haben.
Achtung
Fittings, bei denen der Pressvorgang abgebro-
chen worden ist, müssen ausgebaut oder nach-
gepresst werden.
Achtung
Das Werkzeug darf nicht ohne Pressba-
cken betätigt werden.
Es ist darauf zu achten, dass die Pressbacken komplett
geschlossen sind und sich keine Fremdkörper (z.B. Putz
oder Steinreste) zwischen den Pressbacken befinden.
4.2 Erläuterung des Anwendungsbereiches
Es handelt sich um ein handgeführtes Werkzeug zum
Aufpressen von Fittings bzw. zum Verbinden von Rohr-
abschnitten aus Verbundmaterialien bis 110 mm (system-
abhängig). Das Werkzeug darf nicht eingespannt werden.
Es ist nicht für den stationären Einsatz ausgelegt. Unter
Einhaltung bestimmter Bedingungen kann das Werkzeug
auch stationär mit unserem Präsentationsständer EKST-L
betrieben werden. Die Bedingungen entnehmen Sie bitte
der Bedienungsanleitung des EKST-L.
Das Werkzeug ist nicht für den Dauerbetrieb geeignet.
Es muss nach ca. 50 Verpressungen hintereinander eine
kurze Pause von mindestens 15 min. eingelegt werden,
damit dem Werkzeug Zeit zur Abkühlung gegeben wird.
Achtung
Bei zu intensivem Gebrauch kann es durch Er-
hitzung zu Schäden am Werkzeug kommen.
Achtung
Beim Betrieb des Werkzeuges kann es durch
den eingebauten Elektromotor zur Funkenbil-
dung kommen durch die feuergefährliche oder
explosive Stoffe in Brand gesetzt werden kön-
nen.
Achtung
Das elektro-hydraulische Presswerkzeug darf
nicht bei starkem Regen oder unter Wasser ein-
gesetzt werden.

4.3 Verarbeitungshinweise
Verarbeitungshinweise zum richtigen Verpressen von Fit-
ting und Rohr entnehmen Sie bitte der Anleitung des Sys-
temherstellers. Zwecks Sicherstellung einer ordnungsge-
mäßen Verpressung und Gewährleistung des arbeits- und
funktionssicheren Gebrauchs darf das Werkzeug nur
mit vom Systemanbieter und/oder Maschinenherstel-
ler für das Presswerkzeug freigegebenen Pressbacken/
Schliessketten eingesetzt werden. Verwendet werden
dürfen nur Pressbacken/Schliessketten mit dauerhaften
Kennzeichnungen, aus denen Rückschlüsse auf Herstel-
ler und Typ gezogen werden können. In Zweifelsfällen ist
vor einem Verpressen beim Systemanbieter oder Maschi-
nenhersteller rückzufragen.
Achtung
Verbogene oder defekte Pressbacken dürfen
nicht mehr eingesetzt werden.
4.4 Wartungshinweise
Die zuverlässige Funktion des Presswerkzeuges ist ab-
hängig von einer pfleglichen Behandlung. Diese stellt
eine wichtige Voraussetzung dar, um dauerhaft sichere
Verbindungen zu schaffen. Um diese sicherzustellen,
bedarf das Werkzeug einer regelmäßigen Wartung und
Pflege. Wir bitten folgendes zu beachten:
1.Das elektro-hydraulische Presswerkzeug ist nach je-
dem Gebrauch zu reinigen und ein trockener Zustand
ist vor Einlagerung sicherzustellen.
2.Um eine einwandfreie Funktion des Werkzeuges si-
cherzustellen und möglichen Funktionsstörungen vor-
zubeugen, sollte das Presswerkzeug nach Ablauf eines
jeden Jahres oder nach 10.000 Verpressungen zur
Wartung oder zum Service eingeschickt werden.
3.Sowohl Akku als auch Ladegerät müssen vor Feuchtig-
keit und vor Fremdkörpern geschützt werden.
4.Die Bolzenverbindungen, die Antriebsrollen und deren
Führung sind leicht einzuölen.
5.Presswerkzeug und Pressbacken regelmäßig z.B.
durch eine Probepressung auf einwandfreie Funktion
prüfen, bzw. prüfen lassen.
6.Pressbacken immer sauber halten. Bei Verschmutzung
mit einer Bürste reinigen.
Die werkseitige Wartung des Werkzeuges (siehe ASC)
besteht aus Demontage, Reinigung, Austausch evtl.
verschlissener Teile, Montage und Endkontrolle. Nur ein
sauberes und funktionsfähiges Presssystem kann eine
dauerhaft dichte Verbindung gewährleisten.
Im Rahmen des bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauchs dür-
fen vom Kunden nur die Pressbacken gewechselt wer-
den.
Achtung
Werkzeug nicht öffnen! Bei beschädigter Versie-
gelung entfällt der Garantieanspruch.
5. Verhalten bei Störungen am Werk-
zeug
a.) Regelmäßiges Blinken/Leuchten der roten Leucht-
diode (Seite I, Bild 1.1) oder Ertönen eines akusti-
schen Warnsignals.
siehe Tabelle 1. Sollte sich die Störung nicht abstel-
len lassen, ist das Werkzeug an das nächst gelege-
ne Service Center (ASC) zu schicken.
b.) Das Presswerkzeug verliert Öl.
 Das Werkzeug ist einzuschicken. Nicht öffnen und
die Geräteversiegelung nicht entfernen.
c.) Die rote LED (Seite I, Bild 1.1) blinkt 3x und gleich-
zeitig ertönen 3 Warnsignale (siehe Tab. 1).
Schwerer Fehler! Wenn dieser Fehler wiederholt
auftritt ist das Werkzeug einzuschicken. Nicht öff-
nen und die Geräteversiegelung nicht entfernen.
Bei einmaligem Auftreten dieses Fehlers muß das
Fitting ausgebaut oder nachgepresst werden.

2. Warranty
Regardless of the warranty with your direct sales cont-
ract partner we can accept liability claims due to material
defects up to 24 months from our delivery date or up to
10,000 tool cycles, whichever comes sooner. Conditions
of our liability are contingent upon proper tool operation
and compliance with the required periodic maintenance
of the tool through the tool service center. Our warranty
policy accounts for the exchange or repair of defective
tools. Further claims will not be realized when we are not
the direct sales contract partner.

3.2 Brief description of the important
features of the unit
Safety features:
The unit is equipped with a special brake which in-
stantly stops the forward motion of the piston/dies
when the trigger is released.
A white LED illuminates the working space after ac-
tivating the trigger. It automatically switches off 10
sec. after releasing the trigger. This feature can be
deactivated (see page V)
Hydraulic Pressure Check, HPC for short, monitors
the oil pressure in the tool’s oil circuit, hence ensur-
ing a continuous, consistent press quality.
During each pressing cycle, the achieved pressing
pressure is determined by a pressure sensor and
compared to the required minimum value. An audi-
ble warning signal sounds if the achieved pressure
differs from the specified working pressure. The
user will know immediately that the fitting must be
checked and repressed or replaced as required.
Functional features:
The unit is equipped with a double piston pump
which is characterised by a rapid approach of the
dies towards the connector.
The hydraulic unit incorporates an automatic retrac-
tion which returns the piston into its starting position
when the maximum operating pressure is reached.
A manual retraction allows the user to return the pis-
ton into the starting position in case of an incorrect
crimp.
The crimping head can be smoothly turned by 350°
around the longitudinal axis in order to gain better
access to tight corners and other difficult working
areas.
The unit is equipped with a microprocessor which
shuts off the motor automatically after the com-
pression is completed, indicates service intervals,
checks battery capacity and does a trouble check
e.g. informing the user through optical warning sig-
nals about the kind of error.
Power saving function through motor switch-off.
The ergonomically formed compact housing is
made of 2 components. The grip area is rubber co-
ated and is therefore non-slip. Together with the im-
proved center of gravity the tool allows fatigue-free
working.
All tool functions can be controlled by one trigger.
This results in an easy handling and a better grip
compared to a two button operation.
Li-Ion batteries do neither have a memory effect nor
self discharge. Even after long periods of non ope-
ration the tool is always ready to operate. In addition
we see a lower power weight ratio with 50% more
capacity and shorter charging cycles compared to
NiMH batteries.
The oil used in our tool is highly biologically degra-
deable and not hazardous to water and has been
rewarded „The Blue Angel“. The oil is suitable for
low temperatures and has excellent lubrication cha-
racteristics.
At the end of a job a print-out via a USB adapter
can be generated documenting the proper function
of the tool.

mined in terms of possible damage, dirt in the compres-
sion area and ware. When using competitor products the
user has to make sure that the jaw complies with our tool.
A pressing procedure will be initiated by actuating the trig-
ger. The pressing process is defined by the closing mo-
tion of the pressing jaws. The rollers on top of the ram
close the pressing jaws scissors like.
Attention
A necessary condition for a permanently lea-
king free connection is that the pressing cycle
has to be completed which means that the pres-
sing jaws completely closed at the tip as well as
the T-link.

For information concerning the suitability of the
tool with regard to dimension and field of ap-
plication (gas/water/heating etc.), please refer
to the documentation of your system manufac-
turer.

The pressing procedure can be interrupted
at any moment by releasing the trigger (page I,

The user has to check by optical means whether
the pressing jaws are completely closed.

4.2 Explanation of the application range
The hand guided pressing tool is to mount fittings on multi
Layer up to 110 mm dependant on the system. The unit is
not supposed to be restrained in a vise. It is not allowed
to use the tool in a stationary application. Complying cer-
tain conditions the unit can be operated stationary with
our presentation support EKST-L. The conditions can be
taken from the instruction manual of the EKST-L.
The tool is not designed for continued pressing opera-
tions. After a sequence of approximately 50 completed
cycles you have to make a break of 15 minutes to give the
unit time to cool down.

Too intensive use can cause heat damages for
the tool

During the operation of built-in electric motors
sparks can occur which might ignite highly in-
flammable or explosive liquids and materials
Attention
Electric-hydraulic pressing tools must not be
operated in pouring rain or under water.
4.3 Mounting instructions
Please reference the assembly manual of the systems
supplier before mounting the fittings on the pipes. In order
to safeguard a proper pressing and to guaranty a safe
and reliable handling the machine must only be operated
with pressing jaws/~ chains recommended by the provi-
der of the pipe system and/or the tool manufacturer. If
the markings on the tool and pressing jaw do not match
respectively if there are no assembly instructions the user
has to contact the provider of the system to request a
compatibility statement.
Attention
Do not use bent or damaged pressing jaws.
For your job on the location we recommend the accesso-
ries shown on page IV in pic. 23.
4.4 Service and maintenance instruction
The reliable performance of the tool is dependent on ca-
reful treatment and service. This represents an important
condition to safeguard a lasting connection. To safeguard
this the tool have to be maintained and serviced regularly
We would like to draw your attention to the following
points:
1.The electric-hydraulic pressing unit have to be cleaned
and dried after each use before being put into the trans-
portation case.
2.In order to guaranty a proper function of the machine
the pressing tool should be returned to the manufac-
turer or one of our Authorized Service Centers (ASC)
after the light diode display indicates Service or after
each year whatever comes first.
3.The battery as well as the charging unit must be protec-
ted against humidity and foreign objects.
4.The bolt joins, the rollers and their guides must be oiled
regularly in small amounts.
5.Check through test crimps or have the tool manufactu-
rer check the tool and pressing jaws regularly for proper
function.
6.Keep pressing jaws clean. Remove dirt with a brush.
In order to avoid possible malfunctions we offer you a ma-
nufacturer service consisting of disassembly, cleaning,
exchange of possibly worn out parts assembly and final
control (see ASC). Only a clean and properly functioning
press system can over the time safeguard a leaking free
connection.
Within the determined use of the tool only the pressing
jaws are permitted to be changed by the customers.
Attention
Do not damage the seals of the tool. If the seals
are damaged the warranty is invalidated.

5. Troubleshooting
a.) Constant flashing/indicating of the light diode display
(page I, pic 1.1) or the occurence of an acoustical war-
ning signal.
see table 1. If the failure can not be solved return the
tool to the nearest service center (ASC).
b.) The tool loses oil.
Return the unit to the manufacturer. Do not open it and
damage the seal of the tool.
c.) The red LED flashes 3X and simultaneously 3
acoustic warning signals occure (see table 1).
Serious fault! If this fault occures repeatedly return the
unit to an Autorized Service Center (ASC). Do not open
it and damage the seal of the tool.
In case of a one time occurence the fitting has to be
dismantled or pressed a second time.
