Unpacking.
1. Remove the plastic bag from the machine.
2. Remove the various pieces of packing tape from the machine housing and
the “cushion”.
3. Loosen the Screw at the top of the screen frame and remove the screen.
4. Remove packing and pieces of tape holding each mirror.
NOTE:
If any pieces of tape are hard to peel off, remove the mirror assembly.
5. Remove the Fixing Screw. This screw is no longer required.
NOTE:
Applying power to the machine without removing this Fixing Screw may result
in damage to the machine.
6. Check the machine power switch is OFF. Connect the power cord into the
machine, and connect to a power outlet.

Assembly.
1. Defeat the INTERLOCK SWITCH on the upper right of the screen
(220/240VAC machines only).
2. Power up the machine.
3. Gently turn the IMAGE ROTATION KNOB clockwise or counterclockwise
until the SHIELD PLATE is to the rear of the machine.
4. Turn OFF the POWER SWITCH.
5. Swing down the SHIELD PLATE and install the PRISM as shown in the
illustration.
NOTE:
Align SLIT A on the PRISM ASSEMBLY with cut out B in the SCANNING
PLATE. If the PRISM ASSEMBLY is not installed correctly a shadow can
appear during image rotation operation (also see “SHIELD PLATE
POSITIONING” adjustment
)
6. Re-install the screen and tighten the retaining SCREW.
NOTE:
Make sure the SCREEN is installed in the correct direction with the SCREEN
part number in the top left hand corner.
Checking the Screen Image.
1. Install the FILM CARRIER the customer will be using and power on the
machine.
2. Install the Lens to be used in the machine.
3. With film not loaded, turn the ROTATION KNOB and check the screen
image for a shadow from the SHIELD PLATE does not appear.
NOTE:
If a shadow appears follow the procedure for adjusting the SHIELD PLATE
4. The installation of the Reader is now complete.
SHIELD PLATE Positioning
adjustment.
Follow this procedure if a shadow appears on the SCREEN while the IMAGE
ROTATION KNOB is turned.
1. Turn the IMAGE ROTATION KNOB until the shadow from the SHIELD
PLATE appears the largest on the bottom of the SCREEN.
2. Turn OFF the machine and remove the SCREEN by first loosing the
RETAINING SCREW at the top of the SCREEN.
3. Observe the following illustrations:

If the position of the PRISM and
SHIELD PLATE resemble illustration A:
1. Loosen the screws of the SHIELD
PLATE and move it in the direction of the
arrow. Tighten the Screws.
2. Turn the IMAGE ROTATION KNOB
until the position of the PRISM and the
SHIELD PLATE becomes like illustration
B.

If the position of the PRISM and the
SHIELD PLATE resemble illustration B.
1. Loosen the screws of the SHIELD
PLATE and move it in the direction of the
arrow. Tighten the screws.
2. Turn the IMAGE ROTATION KNOB until
the position of the PRISM and the SHIELD
PLATE becomes like illustration A.
4. Re-install the SCREEN and turn the power ON.
NOTE:
Make sure the SCREEN is installed in the correct direction with the part
number in the top left hand corner.
5. Check the shadow does not appear on the SCREEN during image
rotation.
6. Tighten the screw at the top SCREEN FRAME.
