Before You Begin
¨Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
¨Before moving the bath, carefully plan the installation area. This bath is heavy and will not easily t through
doorways.
¨To ensure a successful installation, the oor must be level.
¨Provide adequate oor support.
¨Floor support under bath must provide for a minimum of 270 kg/square meter loading.
¨Ensure that the drain location corresponds to the bath outlet.
¨The illustrations shown may not represent your actual product. The installation instructions still apply.
¨Uncrate and inspect bath for damage. Leave all materials in the crate during construction to prevent damage.

lift or move the bath.
Prepare the Site

¨Old Bath Removal (if necessary)
¨Apply the nished ooring material prior to installing the bath.
¨Ensure the nished oor is level before proceeding with the bath installation.
Suboor Preparation
• Check the ooring under the bath, and make repairs as needed. Make sure the suboor is level.
Plumbing Preparation
•Position the plumbing according to rough-in dimensions. Cap the supplies and check for leaks.
¨When the bath is securely positioned, connect the drain to the trap. See g. A, B, C.
¨Install the faucet and ings. Open the hot and cold water valves, and check the supply connections for leaks.
¨Run water into the bath, and check the drain connections for leaks.
¨Install the drain on the bath according to the drain manufactuer’s instructions.
¨Use at least four people to carefully place the bath at the desired place.

Install the Adjusting Bath Legs
NOTICE: All housekeeping and maintenance employees must be trained in the proper cleaning of Kohler
bathtubs. Post a copy of this notice in a readily-visible location.
¨Do not allow the feet or drain hole to scrape the oor
during installation, or you could damage the enamel.
¨All baths are equipped with adjustable legs for proper
level and height on all oors. The adjustment is 10 mm
compared to dimension cited on price list. Do not seal legs
to the oor.
¨Check for level along the top of the side of the bath and
across the drain end.
WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Wear personal
protective equipment and obtain sucient help
to carefully lift or move the bath. Cast iron baths
are extremely heavy. If the cast iron bath is not lifted
properly, personal injury may occur.

Clean-up After Installation
Important Consumer Information
When cleaning up after installation, do not use abrasive cleansers as they may scratch and dull the surface.
Use warm water and liquid, non-abrasive detergent to clean the surface.
Stubborn stains, paint, or tar can be removed with turpentine or paint thinner. Do not allow cleaners containing
petroleum distillates to remain in contact with the bath surface for long periods of time. Plaster can be removed
by scraping with wood edge. Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, or other metal tools. One of the powder
type detergents may be used on a damp cloth to provide mild abrasive action to the residual plaster.
The Safeguard slip resistant surface on this bathtub meets or exceeds the requirements of ASME/ANSI for
A112.19.1M slip resistance.
DANGER: Risk of product damage. Improper maintenance or cleansers may permanently remove the slip
resistant surface on Kohler bathtubs.
¨Do not use steel wool, wire brushes, metal scrapers or abrasive sponge pads to clean a Kohler bathtub.
¨Do not use bung machines on the slip resistant surface.
¨Do not use high alkaline or strong acid cleansers.
¨Do not use abrasive cleansers.
¨Use only non-abrasive cleansers and a soft nylon brush to clean the slip resistant surface.
¨When using commercial cleansers, use cleansers with a pH of between three and eight.
¨Follow cleanser manufacturer instructions very carefully.
