Conrm your tank has not been
damaged during shipping before you
start the setup process.
Read the enclosed API Care Guide on
how to maintain your aquarium.
Place the hood on top of the tank and
make sure it is fully seated.
This unit is powered by 3 AAA
baeries or by a 4.5v transformer,
neither are included in this kit.
Note– to install light, slide light unit
with clip onto hood, inserng LED
light into hood opening.

3. Tank Placement
Recommendaons for proper tank placement
Leave enough space in behind the aquarium and
wall to allow easy access to the back of the hood
and other electrical equipment.
Good places for your aquarium
On a table or aquarium
stand that is capable of
supporng the weight of
your lled aquarium.
In an alcove or area where
there is electricity and
room to service the aquarium.
Places to avoid
Near direct sources of sunlight (e.g. windows) or
unwanted algae growth may occur.
Near direct sources of heat (e.g. radiators or
forced air vents).
Around sources of noise (e.g. stereo speakers, TV)
Dray areas
LED light takes 3 AAA Baeries (not in-
cluded); oponal 4.5-volt power adapter
(AP45150T) allows aquarium lights be to
powered by electrical outlet.
WARNING
Do not mix old and new baeries.
Do not mix Alkaline, Standard or Chargeable baeries.
Do not use Power Adapter above 4.5-vollt or damage
will occur to LED light.
Note: The LED light unit has an auto shut-o
feature aer 2 hours to preserve baery life.

from defects in material and workmanship under
normal use and service and according to the
provisions as specified in the accompanying as-
sembly and operating instructions, for a period of
2 years from date of purchase.
This warranty does not cover and
KOLLERCRAFT is not liable for the cost of re-
pair or replacement of parts which have been
subject to misuse, negligence, accident, improp-
er installation, damage during shipment or han-
dling, normal deterioration due to wear and
exposure or defects caused by unauthorized
parts or modification.

Aer water changes and addion
of new sh
Fill the aquarium with water to within
one inch of the top of the tank. Do
not overll since spillage may occur.
Add Stress Coat packet to your
aquarium. Stress Coat makes tap
water safe; removes chlorine, chlora-
mines and ammonia from tap water
and has been proven to reduce sh
stress by 40%.
Paence is important when establishing
your new aquarium. Begin by talking to an
aquac professional about which sh are
best suited for your aquarium and are com-
pable with each other, and how many
would be appropriate for your aquarium.
Inform them that you have just set up a new
aquarium so they can recommend hardy
sh. Be sure that the sh are eang and
acng normally. Check for ragged ns that
can be caused by harmful bacteria or white
spots caused by parasites. Always choose
healthy looking sh.
Do not add too many sh at once. Choose a
couple and then wait two weeks before
adding more. (Oponal) Add Quick Start to
allow immediate addion of sh. Quick
Start prevents harmful ammonia and nitrite
from building up from sh waste in a new
aquarium, oen resulng in sh loss.
Float the bag with your sh on the
surface of the aquarium for 15 minutes.
Open the bag containing your new sh,
taking care that the bag does not
collapse, and add a lile aquarium water
every two minutes directly to bag.
Connue this process for 10 minutes,
allowing the bag to ll with water.
Take bag with sh to sink and gently
scoop sh out with a net or pour bag of
water into net. Now gently place sh
into aquarium. Do not add water from
sh bag in order to prevent introducon
of possible disease or parasites from
store water.
(Oponal) If you are adding a submersi-
ble heater, install it now.
Read and follow the heater’s instrucons.
Check with your retailer for recommend-
ed heater size and sengs.
Adjust heater sengs as directed.

8. Oponal Heater
Perform a 25% water change monthly
(more frequently if necessary), use a
vacuum gravel siphon to thoroughly
remove any uneaten food and waste
buildup.
Use Stress Coat when adding or
changing water and adding sh.
Test pH, ammonia and nitrite weekly
using API 5 in 1 Aquarium Test Strips.
Performing these tests will allow you
to monitor the water quality of your
aquarium. If readings are not in the
preferred range, perform a paral
water change.
Conrm water in aquarium
has reached room temper-
ature, recommended 70
degrees to 78 degrees.
