• The USB 2.0 Audio/Video grabber can capture high-quality video and audio files directly via
the USB 2.0 interface. The installation is very simple and external power is unnecessary. The
professional video editing software Ulead Video Studio SE DVD is enclosed with the package.

Hardware Installation
Note: If you have any antivirus software enabled, please disable it during the installation of
the software.
Before you connect the USB 2.0 Audio/Video grabber to your computer for the first time, please
insert the software CD-rom into your CD drive and select “install driver”. After you have installed the
driver you can connect the USB 2.0 Audio/Video grabber.

Software Installation
Please insert the “Software CD” into your CD drive, Select your language for the installation and click
”Install Video-Studio 8” and click Next” or/and “Install”.
You need to enter your desired user name, and the serial number which can be found on the driver
cd case.
Click “finish” to complete setup,

1. An overview of Ulead Video Studio
Ulead Video Studio is a video editing software that lets users quickly and easily produce their own
home videos. Unlike other software, Ulead Video Studio features an intuitive step-based interface
that helps users get started right away. Once you have completed your video projects you can share
them on tape, e-mail, the web or burn your own high-quality VCDs, SVCDs and DVDs.
2. Installing Ulead Videostudio and drivers
To install Ulead Video Studio and the necessary drivers insert Ulead Video Studio software in the
CD-rom drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
What are these drivers?
QuickTime 6.5 – The video format from Apple for creating and playing back movie files such as
MOV and QT file formats. You should install QuickTime 6.5 or above to be able to use the Auto
Music function in Ulead Video Studio. For more information on Apple QuickTime visit the web site:

SmartSound Quick tracks – This is a plug-in from SmartSound integrated in Ulead Video Studio.
It gives you a library of quality soundtracks that you can add as background music to your movie
projects.
RealPlayer8.0 - This is a software player from RealNetworks for playing Real Video and Real Audio
files from the internet.

Intel Indeo 5.0 - This is the codec for creating or playing files in QuickTime. You should install Intel
Indeo 5.0 or above to be able to use the style templates in the Ulead Video Studio Movie Wizard.
Acrobat Reader 5.0 - This is Adobe Acrobat Reader and is used for viewing the Ulead Video Studio
electronic manual. It is recommended that you install it unless you have a later version.
Microsoft DirectX - A driver from Microsoft that improves playback performance of video files. It will
be installed automatically when you are installing Ulead Video Studio. For more information, visit

Microsoft Windows Media Format - A set of drivers from Microsoft that allows you to create WMV
and other streaming media files. They will be installed automatically when you are installing Ulead

3. Program-related information
3.1 Capture:
To check MPEG capture settings click the Options button in the Options Panel and select Video and
Audio Capture Property Settings in the dialog box that opens. Click the Capture tab to view more
MPEG settings click Advanced.
3.2 Edit:
If you want image clips to retain their original size apply Pan & Zoom to the image clips. For each
image clip ,select Pan & Zoom, then click Customize Pan & Zoom and set the Zoom ratio to 100%.
3.3. Effect:
Before applying the Album Flip transition effect to your clips, make sure that your system is updated
with the latest display card driver.
3.4 Share:
To create an MPEG video file or DVD/VCD/SVCD:
Click the create Video File button and select one of the movie Templates from the pop-up menu or
select same as Project Settings to output an MPEG file according to the project settings.
4. DV-related Information
4.1 Turn on the power of your DV camcorder by switching it to either VTR or Camera mode.
4.2. Some DV boards do not support PAL. Please consult your DV board manual for more
information.
4.3. To record or playback your final video through your DV camcorder, you should first be in the Edit
Step or the Share Step. Select a DV AVI clip in the Library, then click Export in the Options Panel
and select DV Recording. Follow the instructions to record or play the clip.
4.4. When scrubbing DV clips on the timeline track, you can press Shift to repaint the Preview window
faster and smoother.
4.5. If your system supports DMA transfer, please enable it.

Hardwareinstallation

Softwareinstallation

Sie müssen den Benutzernamen und die Seriennummer eingeben (die Seriennummer finden Sie auf

3. Programmbezogene Informationen
3.1 Capture (Aufnehmen):
Um die MPEG-Aufnahmeeinstellungen zu überprüfen, klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche "Options" im
"Options"-Bildschirm und wählen "Video and Audio Capture Property Settings" im Dialogfeld aus,
das sich öffnet. Klicken Sie auf den "Capture"-Tab, und klicken Sie auf "Advanced", um sich mehr
MPEG-Einstellungen anzusehen.
3.2 Edit (Bearbeiten):
Wenn Sie möchten, dass Ihre Bildclips ihre Originalgröße behalten, wenden Sie "Pan & Zoom" auf
sie an. Wählen Sie bei jedem Bildclip "Pan & Zoom", dann klicken Sie auf "Customize Pan & Zoom"

Pop-up-Menü eines der Filmmuster, oder wählen Sie dasselbe Muster wie unter "Project Settings
(Projekteinstellungen)", um eine MPEG-Datei nach den Projekteinstellungen auszugeben.
4. DV-bezogene Informationen
4.1 Schalten Sie Ihren DV-Camcorder an, indem Sie auf "VTR" oder "Camera" schalten.
4.2. Einige DV-Boards unterstützen kein PAL. Sehen Sie nach mehr Informationen bitte in Ihrem DV-
Board-Handbuch nach.
4.3. Um Ihr fertiges Video auf dem DV-Camcorder aufzunehmen oder wiederzugeben, sollten Sie
zuerst den Schritt "Edit (Bearbeiten)" oder "Share (Gemeinsam benutzen)" ausführen. Wählen

Installation du matériel

Installation du logiciel
Insérez le “CD du logiciel” dans votre lecteur CD, sélectionnez votre langue d'installation et cliquez
sur ”Installer le Video-Studio 8” et cliquez sur Suivant” et/ou “Installer”.
Vous devez entrer le nom utilisateur et le numéro de série (vous pouvez le numéro de série du pilote
dans l'emballage du CD du pilote).
Cliquez sur “Terminer” pour achever la configuration,
