1.Product Introduction
2 in 1 KW681 Car Battery Tester & OBDII Code Reader.
KW681 Works on most vehicles sold in the USA with model year of 1996 or newer;
2000 EU-Based and 2005 Asian-Based cars or newer.
It can identify the cause of the MIL and may fix it without going to see your dealer.
It also assists you in easily passing the annual SMOG CHECK. This OBD2 Scanner
covers full OBDII/ EOBD diagnostic functions for the engine systems. O2 sensor
test, EVAP systems test, and board monitoring test give you full control of your
vehicle's running status, while a graphical and numeric live data stream can help you find
out the hidden problem of the car.
KW681 Battery Tester can test all automotive cranking lead acid battery, including
ordinary lead acid battery, AGM flat plate batteries, AGM spiral batteries, and Gel
batteries, etc. It applies the state-of-the-art conductance testing technology in the
world to easily, quickly, and accurately measure the actual cold cranking amps
capability of the vehicle starting battery, healthy state of the battery itself, and
common fault of the vehicle starting system and charging system, which can help
maintenance staff to find the problem quickly and accurately.
KW681 supports multi-languages, customer can select different language
which includes English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese,
Italian.

-7. Freeze Frame: When an emission fault occurs, the vehicle conditions are recorded by the o
nboard computer. This information is referred to as freeze frame data. Freeze Data is a snapsh
ot of the operating conditions at the
time of an emission fault.

-8. O2 Sensor Test: The results of the O2 Sensor Test are not the live data but instead the las
t results of the O2 sensor test in EUC. For live O2 sensor
readings, please refer to any of the live sensor screens such as graph screen.

-10. Evap System: The EVAP test function can initiate a leak test for the vehicle
EVAP system. The scan tool does not perform the leak test, but signals to the
vehicle’s onboard computer to initiate the test. Before using the system test
function, please refer to the vehicle service repair manual to determine the
procedures necessary to stop the test.

After entering car battery test function, the screen will display the following contents in a seque
nce,select according to the state of the battery you need to detect:

1. CCA: Cold Cranking Amps, specified by SAE&BCI, most frequently used value for startin
g battery at 0°F(-18 °C)

Now select one of them (CCA, IEC, EN, DIN, CA, BCI, MCA, SAE, JIS)
(Please check your own battery standard on the battery, if the battery surface does not
mention, you may contact the battery dealer to know). The test resultwill be showed as
below, press the UP and DOWM button to switch between SOH and SOC.
Set Battery Rating
The battery test result will show different type: (Good Battery / Good, Recharge / Replace /
Bad cell, Replace / Charge, Retest )
Battery Test: Select I n - Vehicle -- Battery Test , then showed as below, there will
be a prompt after entering, follow the tips to the next step. And select the battery type an
d adjust the CCA value according to your battery.

-13. Motor Battery Tester Menu
This function can test the motor battery status, including voltage, CCA, electronic resistance,
rated CCA,charging value,healthy value and testing result in one second. From the startup
screen,or press ESC button to enter Main Menu . After select MotorBAT the screen will
display the test result as below:

Battery test result includes 5 types as following: ( Good Battery/ Good, Recharge / Replac
e / Bad cell, Replace / Charge, Retest )
Waveform: Choose the Waveform function on the Main Menu ,
the screen will display the interface as shown below:
CUR: Current Voltage
MAX: Maximum voltage during ignition
MIN: Minimum voltage during ignition
The waveform will stay static until there are changes in the voltage changes
detected
Various vehicle voltage analyses
-- Discharge Voltage : When the ignition is OFF, the engine is OFF (Over 20 Minutes), the
Discharge Voltage should be around 12V. If the discharge voltage is lower than 11V, it wil
l be hard to turn the ignition ON. If the discharge voltage continuously stays under 11V, t
hat means the battery is aging and replacement is needed.
-- Starting Voltage : During ignition, the voltage will drop to a certain point, at this minim
um point is Starting Voltage (Around 7.5- 9.5V). If the Starting Voltage continuously stays
under 7.5, it means battery capacity is low and needs to be replaced.
-- Charging Voltage : When the ignition is ON, the engine is ON. The alternator will contin
uously charge the car battery, which normally is around 14V.

Notice: If the battery voltage is 11.9V currently, after a few hours of driving, the battery v
oltage still stays low, the cause could be battery damage(The alternator is normal ). Pleas
e replace the battery ASAP.

4 . Print & Update
This function allows you to update and print the tool software through a computer .
To update and print your tool, you need the following items：
1. The Scanner
2. PC or laptop (Windows System) with USB ports
3. USB cable
Steps :
1. No need to register, log in to the website www.konnwei.com , select“Download
Update Tool” from the Support drop-down menu
2. Downloading the UPLINK.exe applications and install on your computer (Mac
OS and Linux does not compatible)
3. Connect the Scanner and computer use data cable, then press and hold any
scanner’s button and release it after the tool display a message Update Mode
4. Run the
UPLINK software, click the "Check Update" button, if there is a newer version
you can download the upgrade file from the internet then update to the scanner.

5. Wait for a few minutes until update succeed.
6. Restart the scanner and the update is totally finished.
