DESCRIPTION OF TOOLS
• The KOOLGLIDE® Model PRO-W and PRO tool have three
power settings to allow for increased power in cold conditions
or when longer melting of the adhesive is required.
The KOOLGLIDE® MODEL PRO-W and PRO TOOL with
SINCH® Technology are to be used ONLY with SINCH®
Technology Tapes.

EMPLOYER:

applicable OSHA regulations.

supervisor or your authorized KOOLGLIDE® Technology
Service Technician.
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL:
• Read, understand and follow all instructions in this manual
before performing any maintenance with this tool.
• Other than cleaning and removing dust or other air-flow
reducing material from the tool, maintenance of any other
kind must be performed by your authorized KOOLGLIDE®
Technology Service Technician.
• Under no circumstances should the case of the tool be
opened by a person not trained in KOOLGLIDE® service.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read, understand, and follow all instructions in
this manual and on the label affixed to the power
cord before operating this tool. Failure to do so
could result in property damage, serious personal
injury, electric shock, or death.
• Do not use the tool in an area that contains
medical equipment or if you have a pacemaker
or similar electronic device(s). Do not use tool
near surgical implants such as metal plates,
prostheses, or other implants because the tool
might interfere with their proper operation.
• Do not allow any object containing metal, such
as keys, jewelry, watches, etc. within 3 inches of
the bottom of tool during use.
• Do not activate tool over the power cord or
over metal objects in or on floor since tool can
produce damaging heat to objects or people.
• To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug the tool
before attempting inspections, cleaning or when
not in use.
• Never use the cord to carry the tool. Keep the
cord away from heat, liquids, sharp edges, and
moving parts. If the cord becomes damaged,
stop using the tool and contact your authorized
KOOLGLIDE® Technology Service Technician
for its repair.
• Stay alert. Do not use this tool when tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or
awareness-altering medication.
• Never submerge the tool in any liquids. Never
apply more liquid to the tool case than might be
applied by a damp cloth, even when cleaning.
Do not operate the tool in any wet indoor or
outside environments.
• Do not operate the tool in explosive
environments such as atmospheres containing
flammable liquids or gases.
• Store tool out of reach of minors and other
untrained persons. Use by such persons may
result in serious personal injury, electric shock
or death.
• To avoid serious personal injury, electric shock
or death keep bystanders, minors, visitors, and
other untrained persons away from the work
environment while operating the tool.
• Do not operate tool if the air vents are covered
or clogged. Tool may overheat causing damage
to motor and or personal injury to tool user.
Clogged air vents may be cleaned with a blast
of air from an air hose.
• During and after continued use, tool may
become hot. To eliminate the potential for
discomfort, do not touch the body of the tool.
• Do not use the tool without the Safety Label
which is located on the cord. If the label is
missing, damaged, or unreadable, contact your
authorized KOOLGLIDE® Technology Service
Technician to obtain a FREE new label.
• Use safety equipment as required by the
working environment. Ask your supervisor
about protective equipment that may be
required.

KOOLGLIDE INSTRUCTIONS
DEFINITIONS:
• Activation (Power) Button:
Button located under the
handle that activates the tool
when depressed from either the
right or left side.
• Power Setting Buttons: Low (L),
Medium (M), or High (H) power
setting buttons changes the
power settings on the Model
PRO.
• T Button: For use with tool
centered sideways over
the tape (see Installation
instructions).
• Normal Alignment Marks: Marks located on front and rear
center of the tool that aid in alignment (see Installation
Instructions).
• Transverse Alignment Marks: Marks located on center of
both sides of the tool that aid in alignment (see Installation
Instructions).
• Side Advancement Marks: The distance between these
marks defines the tools heating zone (see Installation
Instructions).
INSTALLATION CAUTIONS
Read “SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS” before using this tool.
• The PRO-W TOOL is optimised for bonding wood floors
and can bond thicker (3/4”-1”) wood than the PRO Carpet
Seaming Tool.
• Either tool can be used to seam carpet, however the runners
on the bottom of the PRO TOOL aids in aligning the tool on
top of the carpet seam.
NOTICE: After the tape is activated by the tool, the adhesive
will melt along the edges and the center of the tape.
• Do not use the tool without proper alignment over the tape or
reduced melting of the adhesive may result.
• Do not use PRO-W TOOL to bond wood greater than 1” thick
or tool may not activate (Activation Button indicator light
blinks three times).
• Do not touch the tool directly to the tape-this may result
in damage to the tool and a potential burn hazard to the
operator.
• Do not activate the tool over the same area of tape more than
once in 30 seconds - rapid multiple activations may result in
smoke and odor and deformation of the material.
• Do not move the tool while the Activation (Power) Button
indicator light is on. If tool is moved, light will flash 3 times
then go off. Moving tool may result in smoke and odor.
• Do not activate the tool sideways to the tape with the
Transverse Power Button (T) light off - this may result in poor
adhesive melting resulting in a poor bond.
• Make sure the tool is at the proper setting before activating
the tool. Failure to do so may result in smoke and odor or
poor adhesive melting resulting in a poor bond.

KOOLGLIDE® PRO TOOL CARPET SEAMING
INSTRUCTIONS
When seaming against a wall or door jamb:
1. Plug in power cord. The fan motor will run
and the low Power Setting Button indicator
light will glow.
2. Select Power Setting Button: It does not
matter what setting when used with the
Transverse (T) setting.
3. Press the Transverse (T) Power Button – this
will reduce the tool power by about 50%.
4. Place the seam tape beneath the carpet
and align it with the seam line using the
tape center line. FAILURE TO ALIGN
THE TAPE PROPERLY MAY RESULT IN
REDUCED MELTING OF THE ADHESIVE OR
DISCOLORATION OF THE CARPET.
5. Trim the tape to the exact length of the
seam.
6. Center the tool sideways against the wall
using the Transverse Alignment Mark on the
side of the tool.
7. Press either the left or right side of the
Activation (Power) Button and the indicator
light will come on. When the cycle is finished
the light will go off and the tool is ready for
another cycle. DO NOT MOVE THE TOOL
WHILE THE ACTIVATION (POWER) BUTTON
INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON.
When seaming long seams:
1. Plug in power cord. The fan motor will run
and the low Power Setting Button indicator
lights will glow.
2. Select Power Setting Button: Low (L),
Medium (M), or High (H). Model 100 – The
Model 100 comes with one power setting
and works best when over a carpet pad.
Model PRO – The (L) setting is for normal
installations over pad. The (M) setting is for
seaming in cold conditions or when using a
seaming board. The (H) setting is for seaming
over wood or bare concrete. NOTE: Using the
tool on the (M) or (H) setting over pad may
cause sticking or discoloration of the tape,
pad or carpet backing.
3. Make sure that the (T) button is NOT on.
4. Regularly inspect the tape to ensure it is
centered on the seam line.
5. Depress either the left or right side of the
Activation (Power) Button and the indicator
light will come on. When the cycle is finished
the light will glow again and the tool is ready
for another cycle. DO NOT MOVE THE TOOL
WHILE THE ACTIVATION (POWER) BUTTON
INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON.
6. Move the tool to the next location using the
Side Advancement Marks located on the tool
case. DO NOT ACTIVATE THE TOOL OVER
THE SAME AREA OF TAPE MORE THAN
ONCE IN 30 SECONDS.
7. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until the end of
the seam.

KOOLGLIDE® PRO-W WOOD
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug in power cord. The fan motor will run
and the low Power Setting Button indicator
lights will glow.
2. Select Power Setting Button: Low (L),
Medium (M), High (H), or Transverse (T).
3. The (L) setting is for normal use to bond
wood to concrete or wood substrate using
the KOOLGLIDE® Utility Tape. Depending
on the conditions - wood type, temperature,
adhesive contact area - the tool may need to
be set to a different setting.
4. Setting the tool to the (M) setting will cause
the tool to stay on longer during the activation
cycle by 1-2 seconds. This compensates for
heat loss as described above.
5. Setting the tool to the (H) setting will cause
the tool to stay on longer during the activation
cycle by 3-4 seconds. This compensates for
heat loss as described above.
6. Make sure that the (T) button is NOT on.
7. Remove the release liner from the back of
the Utility Tape. Position the tape on the sub
floor or concrete with the sticky side down.
8. Place the wood flooring over the tape,
position the wood, and then place the
KOOLGLIDE® PRO-W tool on the wood
centered over the tape.
9. Depress either the left or right side of the
Activation (Power) Button and the indicator
light will come on. When the cycle is finished
the light will glow again and the tool is ready
for another cycle. DO NOT MOVE THE TOOL
WHILE THE ACTIVATION (POWER) BUTTON
INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON.
10. Move the tool to the next location using
the Side Advancement Marks located on the
tool case. DO NOT ACTIVATE THE TOOL
OVER THE SAME AREA OF TAPE MORE
THAN ONCE IN 30 SECONDS.
11. The adhesive can be remelted to
enable the wood flooring to be removed or
repositioned if necessary - place the tool
over that section of flooring to be removed,
activate the tool over that section of tape.
The adhesive will then be melted under the
tool. NOTICE: The tool will not melt the entire
amount of adhesive on the tape - the tool
has a melting pattern that melts a center
band of adhesive and a band on each edge
of the tape.
12. Repeat steps 7 through 10 until finished.
13. Unplug the KOOLGLIDE® tool to shut
it off.
PROA DE KOOLGLIDE®

SINCH Technology® INDUCTION TOOL WARRANTY
The length of this warranty is one year from the date of shipping to the
first end-user. During this period Impax TG, LLC, will repair, replace, or
refund the cost of, at Impax TG’s option, any tool for the first end-user.
This will be done free of charge, minus freight charges, provided the tool
is determined defective in materials or workmanship upon examination
by an Authorized KOOLGLIDE® Technology Service Technician.
This Warranty will be honored, only if:
A. No evidence of abuse, misuse or failure to follow recommended
safety or operating instructions, or improper maintenance or
modification of the tool, is present. (Read Safety and Operating
Instruction Manual for safe use and maintenance instructions.)
B. When replacement is necessary, the first end-user returns the tool
with transportation prepaid, to the nearest Authorized KOOLGLIDE®
Technology Service Technician with purchase receipt or other
positive proof that the tool is within the warranty period.
C. Only a genuine KOOLGLIDE® Technology tool is used in the application.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES.
