Electrical Connection
A 15 amp, 120 Volt, 60 Hzcircuit withaproperly groundedoutlet is required.
Preferably, the fireplacewill be on adedicatedcircuit as otherappliances on the
samecircuit may causethecircuit breaker totripor the fusetoblow when theheater
is in operation.Plan the installation to avoid the use ofan extension cord.Extension cords
arefortemporary useonly. If an extensioncordmust beused,it must be UL/CSA certified,
rated at15A(1875W), 125Vmaximumwith14 AWGminimumand constructedoftwo
currentcarryingconductorswithground.Aheavy duty extension cordwiththe shortest
lengthpossibleforthe connectionisrecommended andmustnotbelongerthan 50 ft.

Electrical outletwiringmust complywith local building codes and other
applicableregulationstoreduce therisk of fire, electrical shock and injury
to persons.
Do notuse thisfireplace if anypart of ithas been under water. Immediately
call aqualified service technician to inspect thefireplace and replace any
part of theelectrical system which has been underwater.
Grounding Instructions
This heater is for useon 120volts. The cordhas aplugas shownat A inFigure1.
Anadapter as shownat C is availablefor connectingthree-bladegrounding-type
plugs totwo-slot receptacles. The green groundinglugextending from the adapter
must be connectedtoapermanent groundsuchas aproperly groundedoutlet box.
The adapter shouldnot be used if athree-slot groundedreceptacleis available.

Operating Instructions
UsingRocker Switch, turnblower on and check for operation. Turnon Rocker Switchto
the desired position. Inthe MAN position it will remainconstantly on. AUTO position will
be controlledby theTemperatureSensor. Tostop the operation turnRocker Switchto
the OFF position.
Electrical Wiring Diagram
Any electrical repairs or rewiring of this unit shouldbe carried outby alicensed
electricianinaccordancewithnational andlocal codes.
If repairing or replacingany electrical component or wiring, the original wirerouting,
color coding and securing locations must be followed.
WARNING: Disconnect Power BeforeServicing.
Any electrical re-wiringof this appliancemust be doneby aqualified electrician. This
wiringmust be done inaccordancewithlocalcodes and/or inCanadawiththe current
CSA C22.1Canadian Electrical Code, and for US installations, theNational Electrical
CodeANSI/NFPA NO 70.

Maintenance ofMotors
Alwaysdisconnect theappliance from the main power supplyand allowit to
cool beforeanyservicing operation.
The motors used onthe fan heater andflameblower arepre-lubricated forextended
bearinglifeand requireno further lubrication. However,periodic cleaning/vacuuming
of the appliancearoundtheair intakeandexhaust, aswell as the fan heater is
recommended. For heavy or continuous use, periodic cleaning must be donemore
frequently. Ifthe heater blows alternating coldandwarm air, check the fan for free
movement and fordebris restricting air flow. If the fan doesnot movefreely, the unit
must be turnedoff and thefan replaced immediately inorder toprevent further damage
tothe unit.
