3 Overview
The PS-1DVI is used to power DVI for Optical DVI Extension Cables
3
.
Optical DVI cables, such as the Kramer C-FODM/FODM-328, require a +5V
internal power supplied through a DVI pin (#14) from the graphic card. When
the computer system is incapable of supplying 500mA, the PS-1DVI provides
the power to the cable’s Tx/Rx modules.

Overview

The Kramer MultiTOOLS PS-1DVI DVI Power Supply:
Allows you to join two DVI-D or DVI-I signal cables even when the
graphics card cannot supply the required power for the extension cables
Powers devices upstream via a copper DVI cable
Is compatible with either digital and/or analog signals
Utilizes DUAL LINK technology, enabling high frequency signals up to
3Gbps, and therefore the switching of resolutions higher than UXGA
To achieve the best performance:
Connect only good quality connection cables, thus avoiding interference,
deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise
levels (often associated with low quality cables)
Avoid interference from neighboring electrical appliances that may
adversely influence signal quality and position your Kramer PS-1DVI
away from moisture, excessive sunlight and dust
