4. Safety
Read these instructions carefully before commissioning/using the device and always keep them
in the immediate vicinity of the installation location or on the device itself!
The Krantz VIRUSPROTECT has an excellent filtration efficiency for virus particles and other
microorganisms (≥99.995%) thanks to the HEPA filter stage it uses. At the same time, these
captured virus particles and microorganisms are permanently passively inactivated. The degree
of inactivation is ≥ 99.95%, which means that for 100,000 virus particles, a maximum of 50 can
survive. In other words, the virus load is reduced by a factor of 2,000!
Irrespective of this excellent separation and inactivation efficiency, the Krantz VIRUSPROTECT
cannot prevent direct infection of a healthy person by an infected person through direct coughing.
Moreover, the official measures (e.g. the Hand, Face, Space rules) must still be observed and cannot
be overridden.

5. Device Description and Sites of Operation
The Krantz VIRUSPROTECT filter device is used to filter room air in recirculation mode.
It is preferably used in heavily frequented public areas and reliably reduces the number of virus particles,
microorganisms, particulate matter, and aerosols.
The filtration efficiency of the HEPA filter element in use is 99.995% in the MPPS. 1)
This means that almost all virus particles, bacteria, fungal spores, allergens, and germs are retained in the
HEPA filter.
Thanks to the patented inactivating lining of the pre-filter and HEPA filter elements, together with the lined filter
housing, these retained virus particles and microorganisms are inactivated. In other words, almost (more than
99.95% 2)) all viruses and microorganisms are killed.
This prevents the uncontrollable proliferation of any microorganisms, viruses, or otherwise potentially harmful
material.
No additional energy sources, such as UV-C light or thermal heat sources, are required to inactivate these
viruses and microorganisms. The Krantz VIRUSPROTECT works in a purely passive manner.
By not using heating systems or UV-C light, there are no hazardous substances when operating the Krantz
VIRUSPROTECT. The device works 100% ozone free.
The brushed stainless steel sheeting is corrosion-resistant and possesses an antibacterial effect from the
ions on its chrome-nickel surface.
For typical locations of the device, see 4.3 Intended Use.

5.2 Cleaning of the Device
The stainless steel surface can be cleaned particularly well and thoroughly. For cleaning, we recommend the
use of a commercially available stainless steel cleaner such as is used for kitchen appliances. Apply the
cleaner with the help of a microfiber cloth in the direction of the cut to remove fingerprints, grease stains, etc..
Then rub the surface dry with a lint-free cloth to avoid streaks. If necessary, the VIRUSPROTECT can be
cleaned with commercially available disinfectants. The surface structure is not changed by cleaning or
disinfection.
6. Delivery Condition
The device is delivered upright on a pallet. The device is also packed in a sturdy cardboard box with foam
lining, which is lashed to the pallet.
This allows the pallet to be easily transported and lifted with a suitable floor conveyor, e.g. forklifts, pallet
trucks, etc.
Additionally, a ramp is included with the first delivery, which allows the device to be safely lowered from the
pallet.
When lowering the device from the pallet, make sure the device does not tip over. Krantz recommends that
you bring the device upon delivery to its installation site while still in its packaging and only remove the
packaging there.
