Instructions
Using the Slow Juicer
Your new slow juicer is very easy to use and will produce nutritious, tasty juice.
Preparing Fruit and Vegetables
• Fruit and vegetables to be juiced in the slow juicer should be washed thoroughly.
• Ingredients should be cut into chunks that will fit easily through the chute.
Pieces of fibrous or hard ingredients such as celery or carrots should not
exceed around 3cm in length and 1.5cm in width. Chunks of softer ingredients
should not exceed 8cm x 1.5cm.
• Stones, seeds and cores should be removed before juicing.
• Fruit with hard or inedible skin, such as pineapple, bananas, oranges or
grapefruit, should be peeled; softer skins on carrots, apples, kiwi fruit, limes,
cucumbers etc. may be left on.
Juicing Fruit and Vegetables
• Assemble the slow juicer as described on the previous pages.
• Make sure you have both containers properly in place: the pulp container
under the pulp spout and the juice jug, or a glass, underneath the juice spout.
• Connect the power cord to a power outlet and switch on the outlet.
• Push up the switch to start operation (see Fig. 7, page 11).
• Slowly feed your ingredients into the feed chute. The auger will pull most
ingredients into the system and begin juicing while the rotating basket mixes
the juice together.
• The juice will start flowing into the bowl almost immediately, and into the juice
container or glass, if the spout is left open.
• The pulp will be expelled through the pulp spout.
• Use the plunger to gently guide the fruit or vegetable pieces down the chute.
Do not force them down the chute! If ingredients do not fit through the
chute, cut them into smaller pieces.
• Once you have juiced all your ingredients, switch off the juicer.
• Unless you had the juice spout open during juicing, carefully lift the cover off
the spout so the juice can flow into the juice jug.
• Enjoy your freshly squeezed juice!
TIP
To maximise your juice yield, run the pulp through the system again.
For a thinner juice consistency, run the extracted juice through the system again.

13
Instructions (Cont.)
Mixing or Switching Ingredients
Single ingredient
If juicing a single ingredient (for example, apples for apple juice) you may leave
the juice spout open so the juice flows straight into the juice jug, or into a glass
placed underneath the spout.
Mixing ingredients
If juicing a variety of different fruit or vegetables for a mixed juice, the juice spout
should be closed so the juice gets well mixed inside the bowl.
Switching ingredients
If you want to switch from one ingredient to another without having to
disassemble and clean the appliance, simply place an empty container
underneath the spout, pour a little warm water through the feed chute and run
the unit briefly to help clean out any pulp or residue. This is obviously not an
alternative to proper cleaning of the unit, which should be done after each use.
It's just a quick and easy self-clean system to help you keep juicing.
MAXIMUM OPERATING TIME
Do not operate the appliance for more than 30 minutes continuously and let it
cool down sufficiently afterwards.

Instructions (Cont.)
Making Frozen Fruit Desserts
The slow juicer comes with a frozen dessert attachment which will produce
delicious desserts from frozen fruit.
• Prepare your fruit for use. Remove any peels, skins, stems and hard seeds
and cut into manageable pieces before freezing.
• Place prepared fruit in the freezer overnight.
• Take the frozen fruit pieces out of the freezer 8–10 minutes before you want to
make the dessert so they can start to thaw.
• Assemble the slow juicer but substitute the frozen dessert attachment for the
juice strainer and rotating basket. (The strainer and basket are not needed to
make dessert.)
• Insert the auger inside the frozen
dessert attachment, as shown (Fig. 8).
• Place the pulp container, or a larger
bowl, underneath the pulp spout and
close the juice spout cover.
• Feed frozen fruits slowly through the
feed chute. The frozen fruit pieces
will be fed through the auger and
come out of the pulp spout as frozen
dessert.
TIP
If using a more than one frozen fruit, mix up the pieces when feeding them
through the chute so the dessert is well mixed when it comes out of the spout.
Alternatively, mix up the dessert with a whisk in a bowl before serving.

Cleaning and Care
Fig. 9
CAUTION!
• Always switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning and maintenance.
• Never immerse the motor base in water or other liquid for cleaning.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scouring pads, acetone or alcohol-
based cleaners as they will affect the plastic and steel surfaces.
To ensure your slow juicer remains in good working condition and continues
to produce great tasting juice, it is important that you clean all parts of the
appliance as soon as possible after each use. Allowing juice residues and pulp to
dry onto surfaces will make cleaning more difficult and time-consuming.
• Make sure the unit is switched off and disconnected from the power outlet.
• Turn the lid anticlockwise to unlock, then take it off the bowl.
• Lift the auger out of the strainer, you may have to turn it slightly if removing it
is difficult. If you still cannot move the auger, replace the lid and plug the unit
back in. Operate the unit in reverse for about 3 seconds, then unplug again
and restart the disassembly steps.
• Lift the strainer and rotating basket out of the bowl, you may have to rotate it
slightly.
• Grip the bowl with both hands and gently pull it off the motor base.
• Rinse and wash the parts thoroughly in warm, soapy water, using the supplied
cleaning brush. Rinse once more and leave to air dry.
• To remove pulp from the chute, use the little
hook on the cleaning brush. Open the orange
silicone pad on the underside of the bowl
(Fig. 9) and flush through with water.
• Wipe the motor base housing with a damp
cloth only.
• Make sure all components are dry before
reassembly.
Safety Feature
The slow juicer is equipped with an overload protection, which switches off the
motor if the appliance is overloaded. In such a case, switch off and unplug the
appliance and let it rest for about 10–20 minutes before restarting it.

Recipes
Orange Juice
• Peel oranges and cut into quarters or smaller chunks.

• Oranges are ideal for use in combined fruit and vegetable juices, adding a
sweet, fresh taste and, of course, lots of vitamin C.
Carrot Juice

peel them.
• Carrots are ideal for use in combined fruit and vegetable juices, adding an
aromatic sweetness, a vibrant colour and lots of vitamin A.
Celery Juice
• Cut stalks into 2–3cm lengths. Longer fibres can clog the pulp spout.
• To help prevent a build-up of fibrous pulp when juicing larger quantities
of celery, rinse out the juicer in between juicing by pouring a cup of water
through the system.
Apple Juice
• Cut apples into quarters or eighths, depending on size, and remove the
cores. There is no need to peel them.
• Apples are well paired with strawberries for a delicious juice. They are rich in
vitamins C and B and contain many other nutrients.
