2. Benutzerhinweise
Diese Bedienungsanleitung ist vor der Inbetriebnahme des IONSTAR vollständig
zu lesen.
Sie ist ein Bestandteil des IONSTAR und für den späteren Gebrauch oder
Nachbesitzer aufzubewahren. Die Sicherheitshinweise müssen unbedingt
beachtet und eingehalten werden.
Der IONSTAR ist ein Ionisationsgerät mit Luftunterstützung.
Das Ionisationsgerät ist bei bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung betriebssicher.
Folgende Signalwörter werden verwendet:

3. Sicherheit
Alle Tätigkeiten dürfen ausschließlich von Personen ausgeführt werden, die vom
Verantwortlichen / Betreiber autorisiert sind.
Die Anwender müssen
 mit dem Umgang mit Druckluftgeräten vertraut sein
 die Bedienungsanleitung gelesen und verstanden haben
Das Ionisationsgerät IONSTAR enthält keine vom Betreiber selbst zu
reparierenden Teile. Eigenmächtige Veränderungen am Ionisationsgerät sind aus
Sicherheitsgründen verboten.
Bei Beschädigungen am Ionisationsgerät besteht die Gefahr von elektrischen
Schlägen.
Das Ionisationsgerät ist bei sichtbaren Beschädigungen sofort außer Betrieb zu
nehmen.
Das Ionisationsgerät erzeugt Hochspannung. Wenn Flüssigkeiten in das
Ionisationsgerät eindringen, kann ein Kurzschluss verursacht werden.
 Das Ionisationsgerät niemals mit nassen Händen betreiben
 Mit Flüssigkeiten benetztes Ionisationsgerät entsprechend reinigen und
trocknen lassen
Durch Feuchtigkeit und Nässe kann es zu Funkenüberschlag kommen. Dadurch ist
eine Beschädigung und Kurzschluss im Ionisationsgerät möglich
 Das Ionisationsgerät ist vor Feuchtigkeit und Nässe zu schützen
Durch Kurzschlussströme oder -Funken (Nässe, Verschmutzung) kann eine
vorhandene explosionsfähige Atmosphäre gezündet werden
 Das Ionisationsgerät ist vor Feuchtigkeit und Nässe zu schützen
 Gerät regelmäßig auf Verschmutzung überprüfen
 Bei Funkenüberschlag Betrieb sofort einstellen

4. Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Ionisationsgerät wird zur Beseitigung elektrostatischer Aufladung auf zu
lackierenden Flächen eingesetzt.
Die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung vorgeschriebenen Betriebsbedingungen
müssen eingehalten werden.
Verwendung des Gerätes in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen.
Das Gerät ist für den Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen der Zone 2
vorgesehen. Es ist entsprechend Richtlinie 2014/34/EU gekennzeichnet.

6. Inbetriebnahme
IONSTAR an die Druckluftversorgung anschließen
Die Erdung erfolgt über den Druckluftschlauch
 Der Druckluftschlauch muss elektrisch leitfähig sein
 Prüfen Sie den Eingangsdruck und stellen Sie sicher, dass der
Eingangsdruck zum Gerät zwischen min. 3 und max. 5 bar liegt
Das Ionisationsgerät ist betriebsbereit
7. Anwendung
Das Ionisationsgerät auf das zu reinigende Teil richten und den Betätigungshebel
betätigen (Hebel komplett durchdrücken).
 Abstand 10 – 40 cm
 während des Betriebes leuchtet die grüne LED
- LED aus = Ionisationsvorgang findet nicht statt
- LED blinkt sporadisch = Ionisationsvorgang nur zum Teil
gewährleistet. Prüfen Sie den Eingangsdruck; im erforderlichen
Bereich bleiben (min. 3 – max. 5 bar)
- LED leuchtet konstant grün = Ionisationsvorgang gewährleistet
Das ist der normale Betriebszustand.
 IONSTAR dient bei bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung auch der
Einhaltung der Technischen Regel TRGS 727 Stand 8/2016, „Vermeidung
von Zündgefahren infolge statischer Aufladungen“
Hilfreiche Lackiertipps
 Verwenden Sie Ihren IONSTAR auf die gleiche Weise, mit dem gleichen
Druck und demselben Abstand wie Ihre Lackierpistole.
 Verwenden Sie ein Staubbindetuch, setzen Sie dieses VOR dem Ionisieren
und NICHT gleichzeitig ein.
 Ionisieren Sie gründlich. Vergessen Sie dabei nicht die Türrahmen, Sicken
etc.
 Lackieren Sie sofort nach dem Ionisieren.
 Optimale Ergebnisse erreichen Sie, wenn Sie zwischen dem Aufbringen der
einzelnen Schichten ionisieren.
 Berühren Sie das Fahrzeug nach dem Ionisieren nicht. Sollten Sie es
dennoch tun, dann ist es UNERLÄSSLICH, erneut gründlich zu ionisieren.
 Lassen Sie sich bei dem Vorgang Zeit, denn dann erreichen Sie optimale
Ergebnisse.

8. Wartung
Die Ionisationsspitze (Emitter) muss mindestens alle 14 Tage mit einem
trockenen fusselfreien Tuch gereinigt werden
Verletzungsgefahr, die Ionisationsspitze ist spitz und scharf!
Beim Reinigen ist die Pistole von der Druckluftversorgung zu trennen

11. Entsorgung
Geräte mit elektrischen Komponenten gehören nicht in den Hausmüll. Sie
müssen getrennt gesammelt und einer umweltgerechten Wiederverwertung
zugeführt werden.
Bei der Entsorgung müssen die nationalen und regionalen Abfall- bestimmungen
befolgt werden.
Besteht keine Möglichkeit einer ordnungsgemäßen Entsorgung des
Ionisationsgerätes, kann der IONSTAR an die Fa. Herrmann Lack-Technik GmbH
eingesendet werden.

2. Indications for use
These operating instructions must be read in full before the first-time operation
of the IONSTAR.
This user’s manual and its instructions form part of the IONSTAR and should be
kept for later or subsequent use. The safety instructions must be observed and
adhered to implicitly.
The IONSTAR is a compressed air assisted ionization device.
The ionization device is safe to operate if used in accordance with its intended
use. See the subsequent chapter “Notes on proper use” for further information.

3. Safety
All and any tasks undertaken, may only be carried out by persons who are
authorized by the responsible person / operator.
The user must…
 be familiar with the handling of compressed air equipment
 have read and understood the opera ting instructions
The IONSTAR ionization device contains no parts which may be repaired by the
operator. Unauthorized changes to the device are prohibited for safety reasons.
Damage to the IONSTAR may result in electric shock.
The ionisation device must be taken out of operation immediately in case of
visible damage.
The ionization device generates high voltage. If liquids enter the IONSTAR a short
circuit may be caused.
 Never operate the ionizer with wet hands
 If the device has been wetted with liquids, it must be cleaned and allowed
to dry accordingly
Moisture and dampness can cause spark discharge (arc-over) making it possible
to cause damage and short-circuit within ionization device.
 The IONSTAR must be protected from moisture and damp
Short-circuit currents and short-circuit sparking, resulting from moisture, damp
or dirt, can cause an already present explosive atmosphere to ignite
 The IONSTAR must be protected from moisture and damp
 Check the device regularly for dirt and contamination
 If arcing (flashover) occurs, take the device out of operation immediately

4. Notes on proper use
The ionizer is used to eliminate electrostatic charge on surfaces to be painted.
The operating conditions specified in this manual must be observed.
Use of the device in potentially explosive atmospheres
The device is intended for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas and is marked in
accordance with EC Directive 2014/34/EU

6. Getting started
Connect the IONSTAR to the compressed air supply.
The device is grounded is via the compressed air hose
 An electrically conductive compressed air hose must be used with the
IONSTAR
 Ensure that the incoming air pressure to the pistol is within minimum 3 to
maximum 5 bar
The ionization device is ready for operation
7. Scope of application
Point the ionizer at the part to be cleaned and press the operating lever.
• Distance 10 - 40 cm
• During operation, the green LED lights up
- LED off = no ionisation
- LED blinks off and on = only partial ionisation. Check that incoming
pressure is within required range of minimum 3 to maximum 5 bar
- LED on = ionisation in progress; normal operation
• When used as intended, the IONSTAR device also complies with the technical
regulation TRGS 727, version 8/2016, “avoidance of ignition hazards due to static
charges”
Helpful paint-spraying tips
 Use your IONSTAR in the same way, with the same pressure and at the
same distance as you would use your spray gun.
 Use a dust cloth; apply this BEFORE ionizing with your IONSTAR, NOT at the
same time.
 Ionize thoroughly. Do not forget parts like door frames, flanges and beads
etc.
 Coat immediately after ionizing.
 For best results, ionize between the application of each layer.
 Do not touch the vehicle after ionizing with your IONSTAR. If you do
however, it is ESSENTIAL to re-ionize thoroughly.
 Allow yourself time to complete the described process, this way you can
ensure achieving optimum results.

8. Cleaning
The ionizing needle (emitter) must be cleaned at least every 14 days using a dry
lint free cloth
Risk of personal injury. The ionizing needle is pointed and sharp!
When cleaning the IONSTAR, the device must be disconnected from the
compressed air supply
