This mini food processor with five different cones for grating, slicing and chopping is the
perfect kitchen helper and makes quick work of prepping all your favourite recipes.
The colour coded cones slice and shred fruit and vegetables, grate cheese, chocolate and
nuts, chop mini batons and fries in seconds.

SAFETY CAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Always follow these safety cautions when using the appliance to
avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as
described in this instruction book.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older
than 8 and supervised.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from
the appliance before the first use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if
damaged or has been dropped. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a
fault contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is damaged it must be
replaced with a special lead. Contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394
88100.
• Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the
socket to “off “and remove the plug from the mains socket.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those
recommended by Lakeland.
• To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or
lid in water or other liquids.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop. Avoid
contact between the lead and hot surfaces.
• For indoor use only.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for preparation of food as described within the
instructions for use that accompany it.
• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains
socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.

• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be
at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the
worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EC
(Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 06/95/EC (Safety of Domestic Electrical Appliances).
• WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock)
hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies
and children. These bags are not toys.
• Only use the pusher to push food through the appliance. NEVER use your fingers
or hands to push ingredients into the chute. Ensure that hands, hair, jewellery and
clothing are kept away from rotating and moving parts.
• Take care when handling and changing the cones as the blades are extremely sharp,
hold the plastic part.
• Always make sure the appliance is switched off and unplugged when inserting or
removing the cones, and chute. Make sure the cone and cone fastener are securely
locked in place before plugging in and switching on.
• DO NOT leave the Quick Prep unattended whilst in use.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 5 minutes. Allow the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.

USING THE QUICK PREP FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the Quick Prep, remove all the packaging materials.
• There will already be a cone in the chute, please remove for cleaning.
• WARNING: Make sure the Quick Prep is switched off and unplugged at the socket
when inserting or removing the cones, and chute.
• Take care when handling and changing the cones as the blades are extremely sharp,
hold the plastic part.
• Before first use, wipe the base unit with a clean damp cloth.
• Wash the cones, cone fastener, chute and pusher in warm soapy water, rinse and dry
thoroughly.
• Make sure that all parts are clean and dry before assembling the product.
• Place the base on a flat surface near a socket, at least 10cm away from a wall.
2. Insert the cone you would like to use into the cone holder. Twist it into place.
1. Insert the narrow end of the chute into the lock on the base unit, turn it anticlockwise
to lock it in an upright position.

3. Put the cone fastener (wide end first) inside the back of the cone holder, twist it
anticlockwise to lock the cone securely in place. You will hear a click.
4. Insert the pusher into the chute.
5. The Quick Prep is now ready to use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Chop your food into long thin pieces, around 1-3cm thick. If you are making mini
fries, cut your potatoes thicker, around 3cm. Do not try to process large chunks.
• Make sure the cone and cone fastener are securely locked in place before plugging in.
• Plug in and switch on the Quick Prep at the socket. Place a small bowl underneath the
cone holder, this is where food will come out of the Quick Prep.
• When you switch on the Quick Prep for the first time there may be a slight burning
smell. This is normal for a new product and will disappear after a few uses.
• Remove the pusher from the chute and place a few pieces of food into the chute. Be
careful not to overfill.
• Press and hold the on/off button with one hand and use the pusher with the other
hand to feed the food through.
• Apply steady pressure on the pusher to slowly and gently press the food through the
chute. DO NOT use force.
• Only use the pusher to push food through the appliance, NEVER use your fingers or
hands.
• Your food will feed through the cone holder straight into the bowl underneath.
• Release the on/off button when you have finished to stop the appliance.
• Switch off and unplug the Quick Prep at the socket.
• Take apart and clean the appliance between different foods, see care and cleaning.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 5 minutes. Allow it the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.

HINTS AND TIPS
• Firm ingredients will achieve the best results, these will help stop food becoming stuck
in the chute.
• This appliance is not suitable for chopping extremely hard food e.g. nutmeg or coffee
beans. It is not intended for use as a meat grinder.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why can I not switch the Quick Prep on?
Answer: Check the Quick Prep is plugged in and switched on at the socket.
Question: Why has the cone has dropped out of the Quick Prep when I switched the
appliance on?
Answer: The cone is not properly fastened into the cone holder. Check the cone is
slotted all the way into the cone holder. Make sure the cone fastener is
twisted inside the base of the cone until you hear a click. Press the
on/off button first before inserting food into the chute to ensure the cone is
correctly locked into place.
Question: Why is the cone holder hard to fit and remove?
Answer: With use this will become easier to fit and remove.
Question: Why are my ingredients not feeding through the Quick Prep?
Answer: The chute and cones may have become clogged. Switch off and unplug
the Quick Prep at the socket. Remove the chute from the base, and take
apart. Wash everything in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly before
reassembling.

CARE AND CLEANING
• Switch off and unplug the Quick Prep before cleaning.
• Clean thoroughly before using for the first time and after every use.
• Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, or steel wool.
• Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
• To clean the base unit, wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly before
storing.
• Wash the cones, cone fastener, chute and pusher in warm, soapy water, dry thoroughly
before storing. All of these parts are dishwasher safe.
• If the cone plastic becomes stained by food, e.g. carrot, rub it with a cloth dipped in a
little cooking oil and then clean as above.
• Store the Quick Prep with the power cable loosely coiled. Never wrap it tightly around
the product.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
This appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use
in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications. If the fitted plug is not suitable
for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of. To avoid an electric
shock, do not insert the discarded plug into a socket.
This product is a class 2 electrical appliance and does not include an earth wire.
FITTING A NEW PLUG
If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead must be connected
as shown here. The wires in the mains lead fitted to this appliance are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Connect BLUE to Neutral (N)
Connect BROWN to Live (L)

If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance do not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows. The wire
which is coloured blue MUST be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter
N (Neutral). The wire which is coloured brown MUST be connected to the terminal which
is marked with the letter L (Live).
Before refitting the plug cover, check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside
the plug. Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If
you are at all unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: after replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the
cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.
If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop. This appliance
complies with the following EU Directives: 2006/95/EC (Low Voltage Directive) and
2004/108/EC (EMC Directive).
