safe place for future reference.
The kettle has a easy view window which allows you to see the water level inside, and
illuminates to show you it’s heating your water.

SAFETY CAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Always follow these safety cautions when using the appliance to
avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as
described in this instruction book.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from
the appliance before the first use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if
damaged or has been dropped. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a
fault contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is damaged it must be
replaced with a special lead. Contact the Lakeland customer care team on
015394 88100.
• Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface. Do not use kettle in a
bathroom, near water or outdoors. Do not place any part near a source of heat.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
cleaning the appliance. To disconnect, turn the socket to “off” and remove the plug
from the mains socket.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
• Children should always be supervised to ensure they do not play with this product. This
kettle must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and
store the kettle out of reach of children.
• To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or
base unit in water or other liquids.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop. Avoid
contact between the lead and hot surfaces. Wind excess lead underneath the base.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those
recommended by Lakeland.
• For indoor use only.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for heating water as described within the instructions for
use that accompany it.

• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket.
Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.
• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.
• An earthed extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable
should be at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the
edge of the worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 04/108/EC
(Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 06/95/EC (Safety of Domestic Electrical Appliances).
• WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13amp socket is a serious safety (shock)
hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
•CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and
children. These bags are not toys.
• The kettle surface may be hot when in use or just used. Use the lid pull and handle to
remove the lid.
• Water will remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and is a scalding hazard.
• Ensure the lid is fully closed before switching on, otherwise the kettle may not switch
off. Don’t open the lid when water is heating. Scalding may occur if the lid is lifted.
• Ensure kettle is securely on base before switching on.
• Keep hands away from the spout when water is heating, steam is hot.
• The kettle must be only used with the base supplied by the manufacturer. Do not use
the base with any other appliances.
• The kettle must have at least 2 cups of water in it before it is switched on.
• Do not fill beyond the MAX level, or the kettle may spit boiling water.
• Do not move the kettle while it is switched on.
• Remove the kettle from the stand to fill or pour water.
• Pour slowly and do not over-tilt the kettle.

BEFORE USING THE KETTLE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Remove all the packaging from the kettle and its power base.
Before first use, fill the kettle to MAX, boil, discard the water, and then rinse the inside of
the kettle. Do this three times, to clean thoroughly.
Position the kettle as close to the wall socket as possible. Wind any excess cord around the
cord storage area underneath the power base. Guide the cord length you require through
the gap in the base.

HINTS AND TIPS
• Only use this kettle to heat water.
• Only heat the amount of water you need to use.
• Clean and descale regularly even in soft water areas.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Plug the base into the socket and switch on. Take the kettle off the base, open the lid
and fill the kettle through the lid opening, not the spout.
2. Do not fill the kettle beyond the maximum level. Do not use the kettle without at least
2 cups of water in it.
3. Press the ON/OFF switch down, the indicator light will show your water is heating.
4. When the kettle has boiled, the switch will click up and the light will switch off.
5. If the kettle is lifted from the base while operating, it will automatically switch off.
SAFETY CUT-OUT: The heating element in your kettle is protected against damage by
a safety cut-out device which will automatically switch the kettle off if it is accidently
switched on and allowed to boil without any water. If this occurs, disconnect the kettle
from the mains supply and allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water. The
kettle may then be operated normally.
OPENING THE LID
• Remove the kettle from the
power base.
• Holding the handle of the kettle firmly
with one hand, hold the pull on the
lid with the other, pull up and towards
the handle to open.
WARNING: The kettle will be hot
to touch when it is heating and for
some time after it is has boiled. Avoid
touching it and use the handle and lid
pull to open. Steam will escape
as soon as the lid is opened.

The kettle spits water when it boils. The kettle has been overfilled. Make sure you only fill with water
up to the MAX level.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Following are some common problems that can occur when using the kettle. Please
review the problems, their possible cause and any corrective action that should be taken.

CARE AND CLEANING
• Unplug the kettle, take it off the base and allow it to cool completely before cleaning
and storing.
• Periodically check all parts before use.
• Never immerse the kettle, base or cable in water or any other liquid.
• Wipe the kettle, inside and out, with a damp soft cloth. You may use a little mild
detergent, but if you do, rinse well with clean water to avoid tainting when kettle
next used.
• Don’t use harsh or abrasive, or alkaline cleaning agents or solvents.
• Ensure that connectors and sockets are kept dry.
WATER FILTER
The internal filter inside the spout can be pulled out to allow it to be cleaned.
WARNING: Do not operate the kettle without the water filter.
• Make sure hands are clean.
• Remove the kettle from the power base and ensure it is cold.
• Open the lid. Hold the top of the filter, pull up and out of the kettle. Rinse under
running water while brushing it with a soft brush. Rinse the kettle out with
fresh water.
• Insert the filter into the slots inside the spout and push it back into place.

DESCALING
• Limescale may be white, coloured, even rusty-looking, but it’s normally visible on the
walls and floor of the kettle. Phosphate scale isn’t generally visible, but it’s there, even in
soft water areas.
• All scale causes overheating, and reduces the kettle’s life.
• Even with soft water, descale regularly, to help keep your kettle in working order. Use a
descaler suitable for plastic products (all kettles have plastic parts).
• When descaling has finished, rinse and boil the kettle several times, discard
the water.
• Store the kettle with the power cable loosely coiled or stored in the base. Never wrap it
tightly around the base or kettle.
MINIMISING SCALE
• Empty the kettle after each use; do not allow water to stand in the kettle overnight.
• Use filtered water instead of tap water.
• Descale the kettle regularly, at least once a month. In areas of very hard water descaling
you may need to do this more often.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
This appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use
in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications. If the fitted plug is not suitable
for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of. To avoid an electric
shock, do not insert the discarded plug into a socket.
FITTING A NEW PLUG
If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead must be connected
as shown here. The wires in the mains lead fitted to this appliance are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Connect BLUE to Neutral (N)
Connect GREEN & YELLOW to Earth (E)
Connect BROWN to Live (L)
13 amp fuse to be used
If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance do not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows. The wire
which is coloured green and yellow MUST be connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter E (Earth). The wire which is coloured blue MUST be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N (Neutral). The wire which is coloured brown
MUST be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L (Live).
Before refitting the plug cover, check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside
the plug. Use a 13 amp BS1363 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If
you are at all unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the
cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.
If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop. This appliance
complies with the following EU Directives: 2006/95/EC (Low Voltage Directive) and
2004/108/EC (EMC Directive).

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Lesen Sie sich die Gebrauchsanweisung vor Inbetriebnahme des Produkts sorgfältig
durch und bewahren Sie diese für den weiteren Gebrauch sicher auf. Befolgen Sie beim
Gebrauch des Produkts stets diese Sicherheitshinweise, um Körperverletzungen oder
Schäden am Produkt zu vermeiden. Dieses Produkt ist nur für den vorgesehenen Zweck
gemäß der Beschreibung in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung vorgesehen.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihre Stromversorgung mit der auf dem Produkt angegebenen
Spannung übereinstimmt.
• Entfernen Sie vor der ersten Ingebrauchnahme alle Verpackungsmaterialien sowie
Werbeetiketten vom Gerät.
• Vergewissern Sie sich stets vor Gebrauch des Geräts, dass es keine erkennbaren Schäden
aufweist. Verwenden Sie es nicht, falls es Schäden aufweist oder versehentlich fallen
gelassen wurde. Wenden Sie sich im Falle von Schäden oder Defekten am Gerät an den
Kundenservice von Lakeland unter der Rufnummer 0800 444 1500.
• Verwenden Sie das Produkt nicht, falls das Netzkabel beschädigt ist. Falls das Netzkabel
beschädigt ist, muss es durch ein Spezialkabel ersetzt werden. Kontaktieren Sie den
Kundenservice von Lakeland unter der Rufnummer 0800 444 1500.
• Stellen Sie das Gerät zum Gebrauch stets auf einer trockenen, ebenen und
hitzebeständigen Fläche auf. Den Wasserkocher nicht im Bad, in der Nähe von Wasser
oder im Freien verwenden. Verwenden Sie den Wasserkocher nicht in der Nähe einer
Hitzequelle.
• Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker bei Nichtgebrauch und vor der Reinigung des Geräts aus der
Netzsteckdose. Lassen Sie das Gerät vor der Reinigung vollständig abkühlen. Um das
Gerät abzuschalten, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose.
• Dieses Gerät ist nicht für Personen (Kinder eingeschlossen) mit eingeschränkten
körperlichen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten bzw. mit mangelnder Erfahrung
und fehlenden Kenntnissen vorgesehen, außer diese werden angemessen beaufsichtigt
oder haben entsprechende Anleitungen zur Verwendung des Geräts von einer Person
erhalten, die für ihre Sicherheit verantwortlich ist.
• Kinder müssen stets beaufsichtigt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem
Gerät spielen. Der Wasserkocher darf nur unter Aufsicht eines verantwortungsbewussten
Erwachsenen verwendet werden. Der Wasserkocher darf weder bei der Verwendung
noch der Aufbewahrung in die Hände von Kindern gelangen.
• Tauchen Sie Netzkabel, Netzstecker oder Gerät nicht in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten
ein. Es besteht Brand-, Stromschlag- und Verletzungsgefahr!
• Lassen Sie das Netzkabel nicht vom Küchentisch oder von der Arbeitsplatte
herunterhängen. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass das Netzkabel nicht mit heißen Oberflächen in
Berührung gerät. Wickeln Sie überschüssig langes Kabel an der Sockelunterseite auf.
• Verwenden Sie nur die von Lakeland empfohlenen Zubehörteile oder Einsätze.
• Nur für Innenräume.
• Nur für den häuslichen Gebrauch.

• Dieses Produkt ist nur zum Zweck der Erhitzung von Wasser gemäß der Beschreibung in
der mitgelieferten Gebrauchsanweisung vorgesehen.
• Trocknen Sie Ihre Hände stets vor Herausziehen des Netzsteckers aus der Netzsteckdose
ab. Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie am Netzkabel aus der Netzsteckdose heraus.
• Decken Sie das Gerät während des Gebrauchs nicht ab. Es besteht Verletzungs- und
möglicherweise Brandgefahr!
• Schließen Sie das Gerät nicht an eine externe Zeitschaltuhr oder an ein System mit
Fernbedienung an.
• Wir raten zur vorsichtigen Benutzung von geerdeten Verlängerungskabeln. Die
elektrischen Anschlussdaten des Kabels müssen mindestens so hoch wie die des Geräts
sein. Achten Sie darauf, dass das Netzkabel nicht von der Arbeitsplatte herunterhängt
bzw. mit heißen Flächen in Berührung kommt.
• Dieses Produkt entspricht den Grundanforderungen der EMV-Richtlinie 2004/108/EG
(elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit) und der Niederspannungsrichtlinie 2006/95/EG
(Sicherheit elektrischer Betriebsmittel).
• ACHTUNG: Bei einem abgeschnittenen Stecker in einer 13 A-Netzsteckdose besteht
schwere Verletzungsgefahr durch Schock! Sorgen Sie dafür, dass der abgeschnittene
Stecker ordnungsgemäß entsorgt wird.
• VORSICHT: Die Kunststoff-Verpackungsmaterialien stellen eine Gefahr dar. Sie
dürfen nicht in die Hände von Babys und Kindern gelangen, da Erstickungsgefahr
besteht. Diese Verpackungsmaterialien sind kein Spielzeug.
• Die Oberfläche des Wasserkochers kann während oder kurz nach der Verwendung heiß
sein. Nehmen Sie am Deckelring und Griff den Deckel ab.
• Das Wasser bleibt noch lange nach dem Kochvorgang heiß. Verbrühungsgefahr!
• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Deckel vor Einschalten des Wasserkochers gänzlich
geschlossen ist, da dieser sich sonst nicht automatisch abschaltet. Öffnen Sie den
Deckel während des Kochvorgangs nicht. Beim Abnehmen des Deckels besteht
Verbrühungsgefahr.
• Der Wasserkocher muss vor dem Einschalten sicher auf dem Sockel stehen.
• Beim Erhitzen des Wassers Hände weg vom Ausguss; Dampf ist heiß!
• Der Wasserkocher darf nur in Verbindung mit dem vom Hersteller gelieferten Sockel
verwendet werden. Der Sockel ist nicht für andere Geräte ausgelegt.
• Der Wasserkocher muss mit mindestens zwei Tassen Wasser gefüllt werden, bevor er
eingeschaltet wird.
• Er darf nicht über die MAX-Markierung hinaus gefüllt werden, da das kochende Wasser
sonst herausspritzen kann.
• Den Wasserkocher während des Kochvorgangs nicht verrücken.
• Den Wasserkocher vom Sockel hochheben und mit Wasser befüllen.
• Den Wasserkocher langsam befüllen und dabei nicht zu stark neigen.

VOR DER ERSTEN INGEBRAUCHNAHME DES
WASSERKOCHERS
Entfernen Sie sämtliche Verpackungsmaterialien vom Wasserkocher und seinem Sockel.
Füllen Sie den Wasserkocher vor der ersten Ingebrauchnahme bis zur MAX-
Markierung, bringen ihn zum Kochen, verwenden das Wasser jedoch nicht zur
Lebensmittelzubereitung. Spülen Sie den Wasserkocher anschließend aus. Wiederholen Sie
den Vorgang dreimal, damit der Wasserkocher gründlich sauber ist.
Stellen Sie den Wasserkocher möglichst nahe an der Wandsteckdose auf. Wickeln Sie das
überschüssige Kabel in der Kabelaufbewahrung an der Sockelunterseite auf. Führen Sie die
gewünschte Kabellänge durch den Spalt im Sockel.

TIPPS UND TRICKS
• Verwenden Sie den Wasserkocher ausschließlich zum Erhitzen/Kochen von Wasser.
• Erhitzen/Kochen Sie ausschließlich die jeweils gewünschte Wassermenge.
• Reinigen und entkalken Sie den Wasserkocher regelmäßig, selbst wenn das Wasser in
Ihrer Gegend nicht kalkhaltig ist.
GEBRAUCHSANWEISUNG
1. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine Steckdose. Nehmen Sie den Wasserkocher vom
Sockel, öffnen den Deckel und füllen ihn durch den Deckel, nicht aber durch den Ausguss.
2. Füllen Sie den Wasserkocher nicht über die MAX-Markierung hinaus. Der Wasserkocher
muss mit mindestens zwei Tassen Wasser gefüllt werden, bevor er eingeschaltet wird.
3. Drücken Sie den Ein-/Aus-Schalter herunter; die Kontrollleuchte zeigt an, dass das Wasser
erhitzt wird.
4. Nach abgeschlossenem Kochvorgang schalten sich der Wasserkocher und die
Kontrollleuchte automatisch aus.
5. Wird der Wasserkocher während des Kochvorgangs vom Sockel angehoben, schaltet er
sich automatisch aus.
ABSCHALTAUTOMATIK: Das Heizelement in Ihrem Wasserkocher ist durch eine
Abschaltautomatik vor Schäden durch eine versehentliche Inbetriebnahme ohne Wasser
geschützt. Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker in diesem Fall aus der Netzsteckdose und lassen den
Wasserkocher abkühlen, bevor Sie ihn mit kaltem Wasser füllen. Der Wasserkocher kann
jetzt wie gewünscht in Betrieb genommen werden.
ÖFFNEN DES DECKELS
• Heben Sie den Wasserkocher vom
Sockel hoch.
• Halten Sie den Wasserkocher mit einer
Hand fest am Griff, halten den Ring mit
der anderen Hand fest und ziehen den
Deckel daran nach oben.
WARNHINWEIS: Der Wasserkocher
fühlt sich während des Kochvorgangs und
auch danach noch heiß an. Vermeiden
Sie es, ihn zu berühren, und öffnen ihn
stattdessen am Griff und dem Ring.
Mit Öffnen des Deckels wird Dampf
entweichen.

wird beim Kochen trüb.

Bei mit Wasser aus dem
Wasserkocher zubereiteten
Getränken bleibt in den Tassen ein
Bodensatz zurück.
Der Wasserkocher muss
möglicherweise entkalkt werden.
Befolgen Sie die Vorschriften
zur Entkalkung in dieser
Gebrauchsanweisung.
Während des Kochvorgangs spritzt
Wasser aus dem Wasserkocher.
Der Wasserkocher wurde zu voll
gefüllt.
Füllen Sie den Wasserkocher nur bis
zur MAX-Markierung mit Wasser.
FEHLERBEHEBUNG
Im Folgenden haben wir gängige Probleme zusammengestellt, die beim Betrieb des
Wasserkochers auftreten können. Versuchen Sie, der möglichen Ursache des jeweiligen
Problems auf die Spur zu kommen und Abhilfe zu schaffen.
