1. Don’t use the player in extremely hot, cold, dusty or damp environment.
2. Don’t drop the player when using it.
3. The service life of the battery is subject to the using condition, manufacturer and production date.
4. Please charge the battery in the following instances:
A. The icon of battery level shows weak;
B. System powers off automatically, and powers off again after restarting;
C. Keys do not work;
5. During the formatting or uploading/downloading, do not disconnect abruptly, or it might cause mistakes
with portable disk.
6. When this player is used for portable storage, keep the device away from static electricity, we shall not be
responsible for any loss due to missing files.
7. When Charging push power switch to position, the player cannot charge if the power switch is not
on. Do not disassemble the player at random, or you will not enjoy our warranty service, any questions

06 Basic Operations

 Power On/Off
Power On: push power switch to position, then press and hold key for 3 seconds, the player will
display the boost picture and enter into Function Selection menu.
Power Off: a. In Play status, short press to pause, then press and hold for 3 seconds to power off.
b. In other modes, press and hold for 3 seconds to power off.
c. Note that if the player has a low battery, it will shut down automatically
 Lock Switch
In Video, Record or Music status, you can set a Lock on the device to lock the keyboard and prevent unmeant
operation.
Lock: press and at the same time to lock.
Unlock: in Lock status, press and at the same time to unlock.
 A-B Repeat
In Music Play status, press to begin Repeat mode, at that time, the screen will display repeat icon “A”,
which confirms the starting repeat point, then press to display “B” which confirms the ending repeat point.
At this time, repeat icon A-B is fixed and the player will play the selected sound from A to B only. To cancel A-B
repeat mode press to cancel
 Power Reset
If your media is aborted during the playing, restart the player.

 Connect to Computer and File Transfer
After starting your computer, plug the USB cord into the player and wait for the computer to recognize the
device. Select the file that is associated with the device and then drag and drop your selected media in the
window. If you prefer to, you may use a third party’s program to sync media to your player such as Window
Media Player
 Volume Control
In Music, or Video status, press or to control volume.
 F/FWD & F/REV
In Music, or Video status, press and hold or to fast forward or fast reverse.
 Previous/Next file
In Music, or Video status, short press or to read previous or next file.
 Auto Browsing
a. While viewing the photos, press key shortly to begin auto browsing, and once more to end
b. While reading the text, press shortly, to begin auto scroll, and once more to end

08 System Menu
In the main menu, press enter function, in submenu press and hold to exit and return main menu.
In Main menu, select [Setting] option, press to enter Setting menu (shown as following picture), then
press or to select your required sub item to set. (Music and Record settings are described in
relative functions)
 Display Setting
1. Backlight time: 5s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 30s andAlways on.
2. Brightness control: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, the higher the level, the brighter.
3. Backlight display mode: Normal and power save, if you set as power save mode, in “Backlight Time” no
operation, player will close the display.

System Menu 09
 Auto Play Set
Two sub items Text, and Jpeg.
1. Text: 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, text turn over page time.
2. Jpeg: 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, text turn over page time.
 System Setting
Three sub items: Language,About, and Update.
1. Language: 20 languages such as Chinese, English and so on.
2. About: system software version no., system software date, player rest memory/total memory, Mini SD
Card rest memory/total memory, these info are read-only, short press to exit.
3. Firmware Update: in this menu, eject our dialog box to remind if to have Firmware Update, it will exit if no
Firmware Update.
 Power Off Time
In the menu: select power off, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 120 minutes.
 Default Set
In this menu, select box “YES” or “NO” to reset default ” then press to begin loading the default setting.
10 Music Play

 Play/Stop
In Music Play menu, press or to select your song files to play, and then press to play. While media is
playing press to pause, press to play again. Or short press into music Explorer to select a new media
file to play.
If the file is attached with LRC file, the player will simultaneously display lyrics.
 Setting Menu of Music Play
In Music Play status, press and hold to enter the Main Menu, then select “Settings”，then “Music.”
press or to switch to your selected menu, then to confirm or enter.
 1. Repeat Setting
a. One: Stop after playing this song;
b. Repeat One: Repeat the selected single song;
c. Folder Once: Play all songs in selected directory once;
d. Folder Repeat: Repeat all songs in selected directory;
e. All Once: Play all songs once;
f. All Repeat: Repeat all songs;
g. Intro: Play all songs in current folder for 10 seconds in sequence (After listening, the system will
return to all repeat mode).
 2. Play mode
User can set as “Order” and “Shuffle”
 3. EQ Setting
User can set 8 EQ: Normal/3D/Rock/Pop/Classic/Bass/Jazz/Users EQ.
 4. User’s EQ Set
Press or to set the frequency band, press or to increase or decrease, edit your favorite
EQ mode. Press or select “YES” to confirm the edit.

 Play/Stop
In Video Play menu, press or to select your required video file to play, short press to pause. Or
short press into Video Explorer to select the video file to play.
Voice Record 11
Recording
In Main interface, select “record”, press to enter prepared Record,
and then press to begin or pause recording. Press and hold to
save voice file. Press and hold to save and exit Record mode.
 Record Setting
 Press and hold to exit to Main interface, and enter into
Record Setting in Settings
1. Rec quality: high quality, normal quality. (The first one has larger record file and better effect, the
last one is opposite)
2. Rec volume: five options of +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, the higher the level, higher the volume.
Recorded files can be found and played in Music Play menu.

12 Explorer
 Explorer
Explorer is a feature of this player; it provides you with clear information about the file categories and
directories inside player, for the management and search of file directories by category.
 Select and delete File
In Explorer, you can select your favorite music or video files, then press to directly play.
During the selection, if you do not require the file, you can short press to display Delete dialog box, press
or to select “YES” to delete file. Or select “NO” to cancel. After your selection, short press to
carry out the selected option.
12 Photo
 Photo
In Main interface, select photo and press to enter Photo Browse
mode, (As shown on right), in photo Explorer to select the photo file you
would like to view, then press to play. In photo browse, Press or
to select the previous or next picture, press key to start auto
browsing, or to return to the menu.

TXT Browse 13
 Download Files of TXT Format
Connect player to computer, select your required file to download, open the file with tools of notebook, save to
portable disk in TXT format andANSI code.
You can also copy TXT file withANSI code to the portable disk.
 Read Files
In Main interface, select “TEXT” to enter the text option. In text Explorer, press or to select your
required file to read, then press or to read the file. Press or to read by lines, and or
by pages. Long press to fast reverse, and long press to fast forward. Users can long press ,
then press to save the bookmark. Press and press to load bookmark. Short press key to
start auto browsing.

14 Game
 Russian Block
Keys Description: Russian Block is operated in horizontal, short press to switch between Begin and
Pause. or to control the block to move leftwards or rightwards, short press to change the
shape, to fast fall down, short press to fall down directly, long press to exit.
14 Use USB and Charge
 USB Display Mode
This player has high-speed USB2.0 port, with standard portable disk function, supports Windows98 (driver is
required), Windows 2000/XP (no need of driver) system, after
connecting to PC (for several minutes), the player will display Online
mode. At this time, click “Portable Disk” in “My Computer” for reading
and writing.

The conversion software of this player supports formats of avi, mpg, mpeg, rm, rmvb, dat and converts to the
supportableAVI format of this player in fast speed and high quality.
01> Run the Video Conversion Tool in attached disk, click to installAVIConverter V3.0
After the installation, open and click the desktop Start/Program/AVIConverter/AVIConverter.
Display the following interface; select “Add file to convert”

02> Display the dialog box of conversion parameters:
A: Firstly select video source file: click “Source File” button in the right of converter, then select the video
file to be converted.
B: Then select targeted path: click “Targeted Path” button in the right of converter, and then select the
path to save the file.

03> Select the conversion quality and height/width (resolution should be set as 320x240), after setting the
parameters, click “Save” button.
04> After saving the set parameters, click “Begin to convert file”.
When the converting process reaches 100%, it will
indicate Conversion Finished, which means the Video
Conversion was successful, transfer the converted file to
MP3 via USB data cable for watching.

18 Firmware Update
Player can resume the damaged driver firmware via the updating tool of tool software in attached disk.
Notice: Firmware updating tool .exe is the installation version for the Updating tool of Firmware. Please install
firstly, then run the updating tool in Start menu or desktop. After the running, push the player power switch to
the on position, then press and hold , then connect USB, do not release until the new hardware is found, at
the time, if it is the first updating for your computer, please install the driver, directly click NEXT to search the
driver by the system automatically (Driver installation interface will not be displayed if the player has been
updated before). Run the Updating tool to update.
01> When updating the computer for the first time, firstly insert the driver disk to CD-ROM of computer, then
connect MP4 player to computer (press and hold before the connection), till the following program
installation interface is displayed.

02> Please run next step per the prompt from dialog box, then click Browse, point to the RockUSB Driver
directory in updating tool of driver CD-ROM, then the installation is finished.
