Iffireisdetectedthesmokealarmwillsoundaloudaudiblealert,thewallmountedcontrolunitwillflash
astrongwhitestrobelight(excellentfordayandnighttimealerting)andtheunderpillowpadwillvibrate
toawaketheheaviestsleeper.AcallwillalsobemadetotheControlCentreorLocalManager.


Installation

RefertotheEiInstructionLeafletprovidedintheboxwiththeequipmentforfullinstallationdetails.
Seebelowforabriefsummaryoftheinstallation;

1. Fixthemaincontrolunit(withstrobelight)tothewallalongsidethebed.

2. PlugthevibratingpadintotheVIBRATIONPADsocketonthemaincontrolunitandplacethepadunderthepillow.

3. Fixthesmokedetectortotheceilingandrunthecablebacktothemaincontrolunit.

Readthemanufacturersinstructionswhenchoosingalocationfor
thesmokedetectorasthisisamajorfactorinhowwellitwilloperate.

4. PlugtheTynetecInterfaceboxintotheAUXOUTPUTsocketonthemaincontrolunit.

5. Plug‐inandswitchonthemainssupply‐theMAINSlightonthemaincontrolunitshouldilluminateGREEN.
Ifthestrobelightisflashingcheckthesmokedetectorandvibrationpadconnections.
ThedeafsmokealarmkitmustnowberegisteredontotheTynetecequipment.

RegisteringtheDeafSmokeAlarmKit

ForthedeafsmokealarmkittoreportanalarmtotheControlCentre 
orLocalManageritmustberegisteredontotheTynetec  
SayPhone,Reach,AdventxtorAltecResponse.  

Seethefollowingpageforhowtoputeachofthese
productsinto“LearnMode”.

PresstheTESTbuttononthemaincontrolunit,thestrobelightwillflash,
thevibratingpadwillactivateandaradiosignalwillbetransmitted.

Therangeofallradiodevicescanbeaffectedbytheworkingenvironment,

TheREDlightonthesmokedetectorwillflashevery40secondswhenitis
operatingcorrectly.



TheGREENMAINSlightwillilluminatetoshowthemainssupplyishealthy.

TheREDBATTERYlightwillflash(andthegreenlightwillgoout)iftheunitis
runningonbatterypoweralone.

IftheWHITESTROBElightflashesthereisabreakinthecabletothe
smokedetectororthevibratingpadisdisconnected.


CleaningtheSmokeDetector

Thesmokedetectormaybecomelesssensitiveifairflowthroughitsventsisrestricted.
Every6monthsusethenozzleattachmentonavacuumcleanertoremovedust,insectsandcobwebs
fromthesideslots.
Thedetectorcanbewipedcleanwithadampcloth,neverusedetergentsorpolishetc.



Neverpaintthesmokedetectoritself.
Duringdecoratingthedeviceshouldberemovedorcovered
withaplasticbagtopreventcontamination.
