!
Thank you for buying Lejonklou Superkikkin!
Superkikkin is a stereo pre amplifier with two inputs.
Its purpose is to control volume and select between two
sources while maximizing your enjoyment of the music.
Connecting
Start by switching off your power amplifier(s).
Connect your line level sources, using good quality
unbalanced interconnects, to the two pairs of RCA
connectors marked 1 and 2. The switch selects your input.
Connect the pair of outputs to your power amplifier(s).
Make sure the RCA connectors are pushed all the way in, but
beware of using excessive force as you might cause cracks
in the circuit board. If connectors are too tight (which is a
common problem) or too loose, the music will suffer.
If you need advice on how to adjust your connectors for
optimal pressure, please contact us, your dealer or our popular
forum on the internet!
On European models, make sure the live phase of your
power socket is on the same side as the xin the name Volex
printed on the pin side of the power cord plug. This will
result in a weaker electrical field around the power supply
inside Superkikkin, which improves the sound quality.
Never shorten or modify the power cord of your Superkikkin!
Its parts and length is vital to optimal performance.
Superkikkin has very low power consumption and is designed
to be operating continually. We strongly recommend, however,
that you disconnect your Superkikkin from the mains during
thunderstorms or if left unused for longer periods of time.
How to use your Superkikkin
Superkikkin is controlled by the supplied remote control. Only
three buttons are used: +VOL, -VOL and MUTE. The volume
has 101 levels and each step is 1 dB. The volume indicator on
the front tells you which volume Superkikkin is currently at.
See the table below.
The MUTE button has dual functions: Press and release
quickly to lower the volume by 10 dB (fast blink). This is
convenient for when having a brief conversation without
having to pause the music. Any button will restore the volume.
Press and hold for half a second to mute the volume entirely
(slow blink). Any button will restore the volume.
After three seconds the volume indicator fades out and the
entire digital section of Superkikkin goes to sleep. This
improves its musical performance.
We hope you will enjoy your Superkikkin!
If you encounter any problems with it, please contact your
retailer or Lejonklou directly. Email and telephone information
can be found on the last page of this manual.
