1. La protezione e la manutenzione.
Evitate di collocare i diffusori in vicinanza di forti fonti
di calore e di esporli direttamente alla luce solare,
alla pioggia, all’umidità, alla polvere o ad intense
vibrazioni. Lasciate l’apposita griglia di protezione
sempre applicata ai diffusori. In caso di avaria non
aprite il diffusore, ma rivolgetevi al più vicino Centro di
Assistenza GENERALMUSIC.
2. Collegamenti
Per evitare pericolosi picchi di segnale effettuate i
collegamenti dei diffusori con amplificatori di potenza o
mixer amplificati sempre ad apparato spento.
3. I cavi di collegamento
Per il collegamento dei diffusori all’amplificatore di
potenza o al mixer amplifi cato accertatevi di utilizzare
sempre e solo cavi di potenza costituiti solo da due
fili di uguale sezione. Verificate periodicamente che i
cavi impiegati siano in buono stato, con le connessioni
realizzate nel modo corretto e con tutti i contatti in
perfetta efficienza, in modo da evitare inconvenienti
come falsi contatti, rumori di massa, scariche, ecc.
4. La serie HURRICANE (fig. 1)
La serie HURRICANE è una linea di diffusori passivi
con cabinet in truciolare di pioppo. La serie si compone
di 7 modelli.
- H150: utilizza un driver a compressione da 1”
su tromba EWT ed un woofer da 10”. La potenza
applicabile è di 150W EIA su 8ohm.
- H200: utilizza un driver a compressione da 1”
su tromba EWT ed un woofer da 12”. La potenza
applicabile è di 200W EIA su 8ohm.
- H300: utilizza un driver a compressione da 1”
su tromba EWT ed un woofer da 15”. La potenza
applicabile è di 300W EIA su 4 o 8 ohm.
- H350: utilizza un super-tweeter ad ampia dispersione
da 1.5”, un altoparlante midrange da 8” ed un woofer
da 15”. La potenza applicabile è di 350W EIA su 4 o 8
ohm.
- H500: utilizza un driver a compressione da 1” con
membrana in titanio su tromba EWT e due woofer da
15”. La potenza applicabile è di 500W EIA su 4 ohm.
- H350S: si tratta di un sub-woofer che utilizza un
woofer da 15”. La potenza applicabile è di 350W EIA
su 4 ohm.
- H400S: si tratta di un sub-woofer che utilizza un
woofer da 18”. La potenza applicabile è di 400W EIA
su 4 ohm.
Tutti modelli sono dotati di crossover passivo realizzato
con componenti selezionati e di un sofisticato circuito
elettronico per la protezione del driver contro i
sovraccarichi di potenza.
5. Installazione e collegamenti
1. Installazione
Tutti i modelli della serie HURRICANE sono dotati di
un adattatore in metallo per l’installazione su supporto
standard per diffusori. I due sub-woofer possiedono un
adattatore che consente l'accoppiamento con il satellite
utilizzando un supporto telescopico (LEM SC-31).
2. Collegamenti
Tutti i modelli della serie HURRICANE sono provvisti
di connettori SPEAKON per il collegamento agli
amplificatori di potenza o mixer amplificati (vedi fig.
2 e 3).
I modelli H300 e H350 nella versione a 4ohm ed il
modello H500 sono dotati di un singolo connettore
SPEAKON di ingresso.
I modelli H150 e H200 (disponibili solo con impedenza a
8ohm) ed i modelli H300 e H350 nella versione a 8ohm
sono dotati di connettori doppi per consentire il rilancio
verso un secondo diffusore collegato allo stesso canale
dell’amplificatore.
I sub-woofer H350S e H400S, infine, sono dotati, oltre
che di un connettore SPEAKON di ingresso, anche di
connettore SPEAKON di uscita per il collegamento di
un satellite. Questa uscita è provvista di un filtro di
crossover passa-alto per il collegamento diretto del un
satellite senza la necessità di utilizzare un crossover
esterno.

3. Sistemi SUB + SATELLITE (fig. 4)
Nella tabella seguente sono riportate le combinazioni
consigliate sub-woofer + satellite per i diffusori della
serie HURRICANE, insieme al tipo di amplificatore di
potenza da utilizzare per pilotare l'intero sistema.
a) H350S + H150: amplificatore consigliato
500+500W su 4 ohm
b) H350S + H200: amplificatore consigliato
600+600W su 4 ohm
c) H400S + H200: amplificatore consigliato
600+600W su 4 ohm
d) H400S + H300 8ohm: amplificatore

1. Connettore SPEAKON per il collegamento alle

amplificato (INPUT). Lo schema di cablaggio
del connettore SPEAKON è riportato sul pannello
connessioni del diffusore.
2. Connettore SPEAKON per il rilancio verso un
secondo diffusore collegato allo stesso canale
dell’amplificatore o mixer amplificato (LINK).
3. Uscita di potenza con connettore SPEAKON con
filtro di crossover passa-alto per il collegamento
del satellite al sub-woofer (solo H350S e H400S).

1. Protection and maintenance.
To avoid jeopardizing correct operation, it is best not
to position the enclosures for long periods in exposed
places (damp, high temperature, etc.), in dusty
environments or those subject to strong vibrations.
On this subject, it’s advisable to always leave the
protective grid mounted on the enclosures. In the event
of breakdown, do not open the enclosure, but contact
the nearest GENERALMUSIC Service Centre.
2. Connections.
Always connect or disconnect the enclosures with the
power amplifier off: in this manner, annoying and often
dangerous peaks are avoided.
3. Connector cables.
When connecting the enclosures to the power amplifier,
make certain to always use only power cables made
up of just two wires with the same cross-section. Check
periodically that your cables are in good condition,
correctly wired and with perfectly efficient contacts:
in fact many problems and drawbacks (false contacts,
ground hum, crackles, etc.) are caused by the use of
unsuitable or damaged cables.
4. The HURRICANE series (fig. 1)
The HURRICANE series is range of passive
loudspeaker systems hosted in poplar chipboard
cabinets. The series includes 7 different models.
- H150: it is fitted with a 1” compression driver on EWT
horn and with a 10” woofer, with a power handling of
150W EIA on 8ohm.
- H200: it is fitted with a 1” compression driver on EWT
horn and with a 12” woofer, with a power handling of
200W EIA on 8ohm.
- H300: it is fitted with a 1” compression driver on EWT
horn and with a 15” woofer, with a power handling of
300W EIA on 4 or 8 ohm.
- H350: it is fitted with a 1.5” wide-dispersion
super.tweeter, an 8" midrange and a 15” woofer, with a
power handling of 350W EIA on 4 or 8 ohm.
- H500: it is fitted with a 1” compression driver with
titanium diaphragm on EWT horn and with two 15”
woofer, with a power handling of 500W EIA on 4 ohm.
- H350S: it is a sub-woofer system fitted with a 15”
woofer, with a power handling of 350W EIA on 4 ohm.
- H400S: it is a sub-woofer system fitted with a 18”
woofer, with a power handling of 400W EIA on 4 ohm.
All the models are equipped with carefully engineered
passive crossovers and with a sophisticated active
circuit for the protection of the drivers against power
overloading.
5. Installation and connections
1. Installation
All the HURRICANE series models are fitted with an
adapter for the installation on a standard loudspeaker
stand. The two sub-woofer systems have an adapter
on the top panel for the installation of a satellite using a
telescopic pole (LEM SC-31)
2. Connections
The HURRICANE loudspeaker systems are provided
with SPEAKON connectors for the connection to power
amplifiers or powered mixers (see fig. 2 and 3).
The models H300 and H350 in the 4ohm version and
the model T500 are fitted with a single SPEAKON
connector (INPUT).
The model H150 and H200 (available only with 8ohm
impedance) and the models H300 and H350 in the
8ohm version are fitted with an additional SPEAKON
connector (LINK) to be used to send the power to
a second unit connected to the same amplifier’s
channel.
Finally the two sub-woofer systems H350S and H400S
have, together with the input SPEAKON connector,
an output SPEAKON connector for the connection to
a satellite speaker. This output is fitted with a high-
pass crossover filter, so the satellite can be connected
directly to the sub-woofer without the need of an
external crossover unit.

3. SUB + SATELLITE systems (see fig. 4)
In the following table you can find the suggested sub-
woofer + satellite setups for the HURRICANE series
loudspeaker systems, together with the type of power
amplifier to be used to drive the whole system.
a) H350S + H150: suggested power amp
500+500W on 4 ohm
b) H350S + H200: suggested power amp
600+600W on 4 ohm
c) H400S + H200: suggested power amp
600+600W on 4 ohm
d) H400S + H300 8ohm: suggested power
amp 700+700W on 4 ohm
6. Connection panel (fig. 3)
1. SPEAKON power input for the connection to the
power outputs of the amplifier or the powered mixer
(INPUT). The SPEAKON connector wiring diagram
is printed on the enclosure connection panel.
2. SPEAKON power output for the linking of two
loudspeaker systems to the same amplifier or
powered mixer (LINK).
3. SPEAKON power output with high-pass crossover
filter for the connection of a satellite to the sub-
woofer (H350S and H400S only).
